we might as well give up now bcuz none of us will ever have real world impact

i find it v hard to care about a t-pain album in 2011. robin thicke should be good tho. xxxp
i will always care about t-pain
with you on this one jord
thank u dawg
hmm neither of those songs is really doing anything for me, i don’t think i will watch his show on the e! channel

have you heard the tpain tracks already released from the new album? They’re suitably loopy, derivative and fun.
oh who are you kidding, you will definitely watch that show that’s on tv
xp
i’m actually going in blind on this one, forks — not out of any nobility or anything, just haven’t exactly been keeping up
like i would normally loathe this sound but penderass’ twangy rambly warblescreams somehow cut through the bullshit for me.
actually just listening to this is making me hate myself. i may have to retract.
nah, i’ll just hate myself.
just like dude’s voice, regardless how processed it is.
when i’ve liked t-pain it’s been more in spite of his voice than anything. and he seems to have run out of ideas a while ago.
Why are forks and jord taking about a turnt sanga itt
it was my fault — just bringing up dec albums
t-pain’s a talented dude and i never really got sick of him but the six(!) advance singles off this record have been such a mixed bag that the album could go either way — tbh i’m much more optimistic about jeezy turning in an enjoyable ‘same thing he always does’ album
kendrick lamar kind of giving me pusha t vibes in his words promising a personality that his voice can’t deliver on
i think that was promo only
i probably shouldve googled this first—its released on ORMOLYCKA
buyin now
a rapper i know once sent me a package for his latest mixtape that had a CD and a gold-painted cassette — was very bummed when i asked him and it was just for show, not a real playable tape of the record
that’s how bummed i was when I bought the Freeway and Jake One album and tried to spend the money that came inside the package
Al you might like kendrick more as a part of his crew Black Hippy. They did some group recordings, theyre fun to hear bounce off each other

i should go back to that mike album, i remember being somewhat underwhelmed but it came out around the same time as quik’s i think and obv my listening was dominated by quik’s which was way better
well the term does have legs now apparently...

Most ppl would prolly say Action Bronson, but I’m more into the Kool G Rap
rolling cloud thread
yeah that KGR was freakin sweet
yeah i was gonna guess action bronson
i meant a new dude with a throwback NY style as opposed to an older mc, like AB, but thanks for reminding me to listen to that g rap i almost forgot about that
er AB is an example of the former obv, poorly placed parenthetical
I mean, G Rap kind of raps like Roc Marci now, so I think you’ll like it!
sounds like a much better look than jay imitating kanye at least
feel like next year thread title should be worldstar inspired
rolling asian ratchetness thread
etc
do NOT remember posting in this thread the other day. how r we going to do the EOY goon report—do ppl want to do a poll?
altho obvs no EOY thing can be done before the french montana + waka tape drops...
forbez dvd >>> worldstar imo
btw I vote for new rolling thread title to be “blue color rappers”
i <3 kendrick lamar and his based introspectiveness
been jamming that schoolboy q too and his verse on the asap tape is real nice
franch has a tape with waka, then with three 6 mafia the next week
^^ very wavy xmas
per usual martorialist killed it

wish i hadn’t missed this:
not really feelin that *shrug*
not really feelin you
that beat knocks like gin rummy, raps are dope, what more are you looking for
i apologize for not liking a song you like? *shrugsford brimley*
apology not accepted. listen to it 30x on loop or tell me what you think of keedy black & sess 4–5’s “I Luv Dat Boy” & report back
man boldy james rules. def feel the mobb deep by way of detroit vibe
that martorialist singles list is what the fuck is up
obv
i knew m@tt would like the boldy james “pumpin gas” track, that shit is like ground zero 90s rap-a-lot shit, down to the standoff storytelling rap at the dice game that is so straightforward on a narrative level (“he shot (BANG BANG) I shot (RATATATAT) — as you can see i cold smoked his ass”) and yet the rapping itself is not in any way cartoonish

“E-40 ft. B-Legit—43”
Yeah thats my sleeper pick of the year, my most listened to track on any of the Revenue Retrievin series. B Legit is pure muscle on that.
although i halfheartedly defended currensy from whiney on this thread (and “this ain’t no mixtape” is still >>> his releases this year) ive totally had the same issues w/ both him & jacka this year
although i still like the alchemist/currensy tape the most
