jesus that’s so many subjects X(
that looks terrible. do people usually fail first time?
if you fail do you get credit for the bits you passed or do you have to do it all again? and how long is the exam, does it run across several days?

i can’t watch your youtube t. si, my internet is slow
estela it is two days. the first day is state-specific essays, 10 25-minute essay questions followed by one 90-minute “multistate performance test.” the second day is 200 multistate multiple choice questions, which are difficult but i am confident i will do ok on that part (it only encompasses i think 6 subjects). unfortunately you get one score for all of it and if you fail you have to take it ALL again and it’s only offered in february and july.
now i am just scared because i didn’t want to pay to take the course (it’s $3000) so i just bought the books on ebay and what if i didn’t do a good enough job teaching myself? but i have done a lot of practice multiple choices, now i am doing essays until i die. the course might just be overkill too, to make sure all the slow people learn enough
since i suspect you might be a genius your approach was probably the right one but good luck, miss,
u can do it, harbs!
ps lots of people pass the 1st time!! don’t let them psych u out!
where is our dearly beloved jergins lately?
harbl, it is obvious from your postings that you have an agile and capable mind and I know it is ridiculous to tell someone to relax b/c they are going to do great and all that. But I hope you can and that all your well-done prep just bubbles up and out when you are in that testing environment. Have you thought about getting someone to record a podcast of all the things you aren’t feeling as well-versed in and using it for sleep-learning? Make sure it’s someone with a soothing sonorous voice who wouldn’t dream of playing a practical joke on you.
thx jaq. i’m not sure if that would help me though! i would probably just sleep through it. doing the essays really is helping because i can’t absorb anything without writing it. and my hand is getting in better shape so i think it’ll survive 6 hours of writing. i just know i have been a little too lazy with studying (i am not a good studier, never have been) and the only way i can be serious for a couple hours is to go, oh, i could really fail this time and if i did that would be very bad. i’m doing things last minute that other people did a month ago but that’s pretty much how i’ve always studied so i’m hoping it works out. all i need to do is pass, not get a high score, i keep reminding myself that too.
do you have a test-taking plan, like step 1) answer all absolutely known questions step 2) answer all pretty-sure-about questions step 3) puzzle out possibilities on remaining questions for awhile step 4) random assignment of a b c d etc to all remaining unanswered? Do wrong answers count against you vs. things simply left blank?
There is no way I could manually write for 6 hours! My hand would be a knotted stump of twisted agony. You are my hero for being able to do that.
no i think the questions are individually timed so you have to do them in order. i would do that otherwise! but on the other hand it’s easier to work on something you absolutely have to do. as far as the multiple choice i think people end up with extra time at the end, which is good because i can go back to stuff. but wrong answers don’t count against you. oddly i love those kinds of tests though, i’m good at deciding which questions not to answer! and the essays are graded 0–6. that’s not so bad. you do have the option of typing the exam but i didn’t want to install windows on my mac to use their software that locks down your computer so you can’t cheat. and i didn’t want to pay for the software. but it’s really about 3 hours of writing because you get a break for lunch.
missing u, sandbox
whatup
hi
i already ate an ice cream cone today
i’m now sitting here drinking coffee
heartbl
lol it won’t let me post “hi” (duplicate message), so...hi
shoulda seen me walking home from farmer’s market at 8:30, i was double fisting: coffee in one hand, ice cream cone in the other
it was a little slice of heaven, right here in baltimore
you are an inspiration, harbl!
except i can’t eat ice cream really ;(
i will eat your share, te.
coffee + ice cream = A+ (insert infinity symbol which i can’t find)
also, hi there.
i just exercised for the first time in, uh, years.
affogato: a+
good for you, lx!
i am sitting here drinking cofee but now i feel guilty.
yum
guilty why.
i exercised twice last week. it was good and sweaty and a ran up a hill.
that was for the first time in two months :o
guilty bc i should already be at the gym.
i am working on learning to run up/down the hill. it is hard. i read something that said it’s easier to run up a hill than walk up, though.
it is very hard, but gets easier surprisingly fast. i’m going to keep doing it. there were no real hills in ohio so i haven’t had any in a long time
i’m not sure i ever ran up a hill in my life. and i’m not sure i ever will.
not even to make a deal with god? ; )
i just really suck at running period, so this is my big summer challenge.
i need different shoes.
i have been riding my bike to work, and sometimes home again (on the days when i don’t give in and agree to let ytth pick me up), but i get so breathless and my legs hurt and i feel so huge and fat and lazy and old!! i’m heaving round about 30 extra pounds right now, and that just makes all activity that much more exhausting.
also: i am basically incapable of running—like, it feels unnatural to me
xp i’m as likely to make a deal with god as i am to run up a hill
i am pretty bad at running but i used to be good at it and i just keep getting in cycles where i get in ok shape then i get busy and stop. running feels less unnatural after you suffer through it for a few weeks. then it feels normal.
my ankles feel like they might actually break when i run

that looks like a jesus’s son house.
it does!
it is quite amazing to me how much it does.
oh i just figured out we are allowed to do the questions out of order so i will be doing that. i need to find an analog watch though, no digital allowed!!!!!
i am good at:
evidence
criminal law
criminal procedure
i am ok at:
civil procedure
commercial paper
constitutional law
corporations
agency & partnership
property
contracts
i have no clue at:
secured transactions
torts
sales
professional responsibility
lol @ beginning to study prof resp 5 days before the exam
that’s good progress in 8 days so i have every confidence for the remaining 5
i guess i have *some* clue for sales and secured transactions but only because i know what they are and they give you statutes to look at for those questions
ok now i am ok at torts and prof resp but too slow and not really memorized. only 3 more whole days!!
girl we are hell of pulling for u
if i fail i’m going to be too embarrassed to say anything though. also no results until nov. 1. wtf?
i remember when i failed my driver’s test on my 16th birthday. all my friends were excited to go out and take a drive (i was the oldest) and haha whoops how baout in a couple weeks guys
So I am curious as to what “sales” are in this law test kind of sense? Like, sales contracts and things? or something else?
It seems totally wrong to make you wait so long for results.
Also, failed test = warmup for the real thing, no shame in that!
you’re totally not gonna fail, harbl
^^^totm, btw
i am having brain blocks :-\
i failed my drivers’ test twice :(
sales is sales of goods under article 2 of the uniform commercial code. like if i order 1,000 widgets from WidgetCorp, how to make a contract to buy goods, what terms go in it, etc. it’s different from common law contracts.
brain blocks?
like, it is not working when i try to write clever, witty cover letters O_o
like i think i am not going to apply for a job that closes today because i can’t think of anything good to write, which probably means it’s not the right job for me anyway, but still. uasdgkj. i used to be better at bsing this stuff.
green card approved today!!!!! i am here for good, for realz!!!!
yay!
the sandbox is having a very highflying week!

yeah i’m sitting here drinking coffee and hemorrhaging money paying billz and ordering a new phone (w/ new 443 number!!) and maybe internet for new place but i am angry at comcast so maybe not
i am sitting here drinking coffee as well.
i am really sad about the $ i just parted with because it cuts into my ‘go buy booze before the taxes go up’ plan.
yes lxy, now i get to stay FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
where is everyone
i’m just sitting here drinking lemonade
i am not on an island anymore
i had to work my stupid stinkin’ dumb poo job. today AND yesterday AND the next 5 days.
sitting here drinking coffee.
i don’t drink coffee except if there’s whiskey in it
i only started drinking coffee after i stopped drinking alcohol, before that i was disdainful of it.
i also used to disdain cakes and girls who went on about cakes.
i still disdain girls who think eating cakes is devilish.

poor cake, he looks so glum.
sitting here drinking iced coffee
sitting here drinking coffee
i disdain girls who go on about cupcakes
seattle has a deep and abiding love of cupcakes it seems. i don’t get it. they are everywhere.
in columbus too. cupcakes and bacon.
