in the late 90’s there was a bar called The Fountainhead in east atlanta that had monthly architecture chats. It was alright, but still never rose to the level of just going to a bar and drinking and talking shit.
i like that the third result for that is wonkette

“This 4 piece outfit includes full three part harmonies floating over tasty grooves played by a slammin rhythm section that includes percussion, drums, electric bass, keys and guitar. ‘Soaring vocals over world-class musicianship, a smart dance party’.”
man that is one SLAMMIN RHYTHM SECTION!
ooh dude you really out to try these TASTY GROOVES, they’re delicious!
at least these guys sound like they might be fun for...something?
Rob Lethert, of the Boozehounds, has been singing and playing music since he was six. Back then, he listened to Neil Diamond – today he is the lead singer and guitar player for Bozeman’s “trailer-trash, country, rock n’ roll band,” the Boozehounds.
The Boozehounds are Rob Lethert (Vocals, Guitar), Kenny Stancil (Drums), Texas Ted Culp (Slide Guitar), and Mike Schultz (Bass). The band formed in April of 2004 and have been evolving ever since.
In just two months they released their first CD which featured the bands favorite cover songs.
“I like playing stuff nobody knows because they think it’s original and if you screw up, nobody know,” said Lethert.
While the last album was covers, the Boozehounds upcoming album, scheduled to be released this summer, will feature all original tracks, with the exception of one Tex Tucker cover. Look for some of these original songs at the Boozehounds next live show.
“Most of these songs are about shitty cars, mean women, and getting to drunk... the important things in life,” said Lethert
The band named itself “The Boozehounds,” because, according to Lethert, “We’re all pretty much a bunch of alcoholics.” They like to have a good time when they play and have been known to fall off the stage in the process. (For those wishing to buy them a drink, they enjoy beer, Jaeger, and tequila.)
What’s next for the Boozehounds? “Since we don’t have any movie picture deals, we are just going to continue playing live music in Bozeman,” said Lethert. “And in the summer we will be starting a tour of Colorado and Texas with our new CD.” •
also, who is Alayew Mesfin???? i like this shit

yeah that dude is awesome! he’s an ethiopian singer, that tune’s from the very early 70’s i think? i’ve only been able to get my hands on two or three tracks by him, but they’re all amazing. “hasabe” (the one i played) is the hardest rocking. i can send em off your way, if you’d like.
have you heard any other ethio stuff? alemayehu eshete is another big favorite of mine and luckily he’s got a much larger and more easily findable discography.
can send em off your way, if you’d like.

...i haven’t heard much ethiopian stuff, unfortunately, but would be very happy to hear what’s out there
it is steak o’clock over here YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOW
right now i love having a yard and a grill and beers!
Speaking of ethiopian music, I was SOOO pissed when I was at Dukem for dinner earlier this week and there was a dude playing jazz keyboard. wtf? Why did they not bring the awesome like usual?
(this was somewhat mitigated by the TV in the back of the restaurant playing Stealth)

new initiative to come up with a slogan to attract tourists to DC.. anyone else hear this? they’re going to have a contest I think..
“Washington DC: Where Your Job Is Your Credit”
“Washington DC: Nats Playing Baseball”
“Washington DC: UH”
People who have worked in the services industries: how do I shot chat up a waitress without sounding like a twat?
be a regular & keep tipping
also, fuck a new DC tourism slogan. It’s not like we’re really a city that has trouble defining itself to the rest of the country. It’s not like there are people who are like “oh hmm I had never even thought about visiting DC! Is there anything important there?” If anything, a new slogan should trade on that and be all “DC: you know how we roll”
“It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that go-go swing..”
automatic 12.5% service charge and I still left more than 10%. I think I deserve a free apartment in manhattan with my green card.

maybe all of us riding the amtrak together and stationing ourselves permanently in the cafe car was a bad idea, at least this is what my headache is telling me.
no you’re supposed to drink a lot on the way home from a vacation and/or on sunday night.
Oh Noes, TOMBOT be stealing mah fanclub.
no you’re supposed to drink a lot on the way home from a vacation and/or on sunday night.
OTM, we was drunk and listening to motorhead (the hawkwind version) and talking to spiders on the train last night.
good morning i am a shark.
friday night at the bottle i was sitting behind the merch booth when some dude introduced himself to my friend 1isa by saying he was in a band called the sharx. i tried to say i know evan but i was too drunk. then my friend mike asked me if we were good and i said “yeah, why?” and he said “i don’t know, i just blacked out for the last hour.”
it was one of those nights.
maybe all of us riding the amtrak together and stationing ourselves permanently in the cafe car was a bad idea, at least this is what my headache is telling me.
The only bad idea was not bringing your own booze.
i stole someone’s coat at st ex last night?!
we was drunk and listening to motorhead (the hawkwind version)
YES
living in the cafe car was a good idea. going to saint-ex was probably the bad idea.
you went to saint ex after you got home? yeah that was crazy! you should have gone sleepy time after train drinkin’

!!!!
was it a tall good-looking asian guy, or a less-tall, sort of funny looking jewish/swedish guy?
We are wondering whether covering it at a very twee club would be too much like burning our bridges.
also who the fuck talks to spiders, that’s what i want to know
It wouldn’t stay in the bag with the rosemary plant.
basically, i blame the cafe car for the decision to move onto a bar once back in dc, is the thing. though i guess if i’m going to point fingers i should just start with my lunchtime snack of wine.
yeah, you pretty much have to live in the cafe car when riding Amtrak. I just got nostalgic for the cafe car.
fuck, the bad ideas started long, long before lunch time
ed such concerns should not trouble a warrior on the edge of time such as yourself.
also gbx just send me something fun in return if you’d like, i like lots of stuff!
my usual amtrak return from NY tactic is to get drunk before getting on the train and then pass out smelling like booze. I am usually on a late train after the cafe car has closed, though.
The bad ideas started before lunchtime sounds like the first line of an unreleased Carver story.
I guess it depends on Doom learning the fiddle part.
Can we return to today’s agenda:
How do I ensnare the scruffy hott french waitress?
was it a tall good-looking asian guy, or a less-tall, sort of funny looking jewish/swedish guy?
wasn’t asian, had sort of long-ish hair and a retarded scarf. i’m kind of hazy on what he looked like but then again i was at a point where i couldn’t figure out that $10 for a t-shirt and $4 for a 7“ came to $14. i wouldn’t say he was funny looking but i guess maybe you could.
best time ever on a train: overnight from Malaga to Barcelona, me and buddy get bored and go to cafe car. End up drinking ALL THE BEER with three Scotch dudes. At one point, one of them disappears into the night at a whistle stop, returns 20 seconds before the train leaves with another case because the cafe was (a) closed and (b) out of beer.
THE BAD IDEAS OF THAT PARTICULAR DAY, I REFUSE TO GO BACK ANY FURTHER THAN WHEN I WOKE UP TO PIN POINT THE BAD IDEAS BECAUSE OTHERWISE I’M JUST GOING TO KILL MYSELF.
xp kev
wait, waht? oh, right, i bet that was Paul.
