congratulations to alex and zack for their humor and their candor tonight

Hey Pete Smith, I would like to talk to you about a new predatory lending law in Chicago some time. xoxo Jenny.

who the HELL are you PEOPLE

mostly me

hey jenny—email me dude

I really hate this, dudes. Alex, what is yr e-mail address so we can add you to the e-mail thread we have limping along stoically in gmails.

alex.p@reene@gmail

i’m concerned that the gmails thread won’t have enough cat pictures

me (2:32:38 PM): i think we were super obnoxious as hosts

me (2:32:50 PM): but not obnoxious enough because some people liked us

dave: (2:32:52 PM): that’s what pete said

dave (2:32:58 PM): that’s also what he said

me (2:32:57 PM): did he tell you the flipper thing?

me (2:33:03 PM): it was pretty funny

dave (2:33:04 PM): he said two people got it right

dave (2:33:10 PM): probably just cuz you shout flipper every week

me (2:33:42 PM): oh no, not that part—this one team was handing in their music round answer sheet and was like “what happened to the flipper round? we studied the wikipedia page all day!”

me (2:33:52 PM): and i looked down at their answer sheet and realized they’d gotten the flipper question wrong

dave (2:34:10 PM): haha

dave (2:34:21 PM): you gave them a bonus point?

me (2:34:36 PM): no, it gets better

me (2:35:03 PM): at the bar later they were like “you guys were totally great hosts, but we were so ready for a flipper round. we knew the years it was on, the cast, the plots...what happened?”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ok that is hilarious.

FUCK THIS JOB, FUCK IT SO HARD

SETTING, THE 9AM BRIEFING, WHERE I WORK.

guy from admin group: “blah blah blah we’re doing a manpower study, here is how we want you to fill out the spreadsheet with your activities, we want to see where we can shift personnel to cover some things and support some other activities blah blah blah”

me: “are MITRE taking part in this?”

guy from admin group, to other guy in admin group: “uh?”

other guy: “No, not this time.”

me: “Surprise.”

THE END

PLEASE UNIT CHIEF, PLEASE COME PISS IN MY MOUTH, THAT IS WHAT WE DO HERE

so how exactly is this pseudo-ilx different from the old-ilx and the nu-ilx?

like technically speaking

Yeah I HATE DETAILING WHAT I DO ALL DAY ON SPREADHSEETS OR WHATEVER.

We had to do that too, it sucked balls.

Hey y’all. Laughing at the Flipper shit.

xpost yeah this is pretty okay

i think it’s different in that no one can figure out how to register and log in.

I don’t even care that I’m having to detail my bullshit in the spreadsheet. It’s just that I’d rather have a boss who has the fucking fortitude to come down and say to our faces “I’m getting rid of the incident response team, it’s just as well anyway because I don’t trust any of you people and I refuse to give you access to the tools you need to actually do your job, so it’s not like anybody will miss them.”

alex OTM, if you register you can never, ever change your settings and wtf should you register at all in that case. So it’s a pain in a horse’s ass to sit and try to wade through any of this.

Tom I don’t understand a goddamn thing you are talking about.

Everyone, what do you think of people who are TOO STUPID TO READ YOUR E-MAIL SIGNATURE TO GET YOUR PHONE NUMBER???

Also, due to lack of registration abilities I am just randomly picking names I’ve used in the past thanks to saved forms function on firefox. ANYONE have any clue wtf this particular posting name is about????

Tom just quit your fucking job, spend a month working on your thesis, and get a new one. Jesus dude.

rent. food.

cat litter. beer. cat food.

sup bros

today i am thinking i will perhaps to go back to skool

cats dont even really need food right now—mr kitty can eat some of dr ben, and theyll both be fine for a couple months

ho snap

lets move to chapel hill

ok

Make it Charleston and you have a DEAL

Tom stop being a pussy and man up and admit we can survive without your paycheck one (1) month. Maybe if you ever sold that pile of CDs sittin there for like 8 years now. SNAP

i am pro back to school though I am currently hating school and I am in the senioritis part of the semester where I hate everyone and the crap they turn in for me to look at & critique

SC SUX

hey guys check it, it’s the cheer up cat!!!

xpost wtfever grumpy ass.

Whatever Ms. “I’m defending South Carolina”

There was a feature on South Of The Border in the Express this morning!

south of the border is the only bad thing about SC, I’m certain.

that is an awesome cat picture.

your views on South Carolina are perplexing.

OH SHIT, Janette Oke used to write a shitton of Christian romances, our church library stocked ’em.

your views on South Carolina are perplexing.

— party with me punker (pelagi...), November 29th, 2006.

OTM! SotB rules, and otherwise, what does SC do besides refuse to take the stars and bars off the statehouse??

HAY LAUREL!

I’ve never actually been to SC.

xpost anyone who says SotB rules is no longer a friend of mine.

WHAAA

SC gave us Hootie. SOTB billboards can get old but the place itself is sorta boss compared to all the other shit on 95.

HEY GUYZ. I don’t know what I’m doing on yr thread — just bored today, I guess.

I KNOW, SHOCKER, I’M AGAINST BLATANT RACISM AND FIND IT NEITHERFUNNYNORIRONIC,” OMGWTF SOOOO CONFUSING LOL!!!!!!!!!111

I am also against hootie. But NC isn’t that great, dudes. Chapel Hill was nice but I wouldn’t want to live there, shit would get old fast.

is it a “making mexicans look awful” thing? i can understand that objection, but somehow it seems reverent to me.

that is like saying Buckwheat impressions are reverent to black people, dude.

ok ok fine maybe yr right

BUT THEN WHY WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO MOVE TO CHARLESTON

BUENS DIAS, AMIGO! pedro VER’ GLAD YOU COME!!
pedro got 112 meelion amigos, who stay weeth heem, opp teel now all satisfy come back, send frans...thees make pedro ver’ HAPPEE...like for frans come back all time...pedro hope YOU make 112 meelion and wan happee amigos! you come back soon, too, yes?

sotb was where everyone in new england bought fireworks in the 70s and early 80s before new hampster made them legal again. every winter in the weird suburban enclave where i grew up there would be conversations along the lines of “you’re going to florida? you driving? hey, on the way back could you stop in south carolina and convert this mortgage payment into roman candles?”

and that’s why the fourth of july always reminds me of drunk suburban dads chucking m-80s at each other.

Again with the awesome catness.

Dudes, let’s rank the states today.

BEST: ME, CO, CA

WORST: IL (except for Chicago), FL, TX

BECAUSE I’VE NEVER BEEN THERE, THAT’S LIKE THE BASIS FOR 99.9% OF THINGS I THINK AREGOOD IDEASTO DO.

Tom, you’re about to be murdered.

there’s no way a cat could kill superman.

otto, that is part of the reason why my mom’s family used to stay there on trips down to SC to see my aunt. That and the fact that SotB was apparently as long as my grandfather was willing to drive with my grandmother in the car.

ranking states, uh, best: NY, SC which I have never been to but I am certain is GREAT, CA. worst: VA ultimate #1 not a bro by furthest votes, CT, NM.

best states: CA, ME, VT

worst: NY (except NYC), NJ, TX

sonned over a fortune city beef

I also like WA and MA, I think. Though Boston is still kind of a shithole. I like NC okay and I like FL!!!

cats r living the dream

hey jenny—i will respond thoughtfully to yr email today, maybe after soliciting some thoughts from my coworkers...

XPOST FLORIDA?

also FL is not likable, i am sorry.

southeastern mass is even worse than boston, the taint of new england where it’s not cape cod and it’s not rhode island.

What the fuck, FLORIDA? Ally girl you crazy from too much sun + tequila. Get yr kicks in Mexico and points south & tropical, not in the lamest state in the union.

i mean, my friend lauren would be angry at me for generalizing, but there are some lame-ass parts of FL

Thanks, Pete Smith.

DELAWARE 4 LYF

Chen’s has great fortune city beef

there are some lame-ass parts of every single state mentioned, but the rest of these states ain’t got Disneyworld, you fucktards. If you hate Disneyworld, you hate everything.

OH YEAH DELAWAREOUTLET STORES AND $50 IN TOLLS ON I-95. WOOT

also florida is pure vile piss shit from fuck hell

Wait WAHT? Disneyworld, you gotta be fucking kidding me.

I’m aggressive today.

I haven’t been to many states besides driving through them so I don’t have much to say about some of these states. I mean seriously tho, CO seems like it sucks.

xpost I have no fucking idea who any of you are, since I can’t even see your fake e-mail addresses much less log in names etc, can we all keep consistent names during this period of great strife?

the “(except [MAJOR CITY])” thing seems kinda bullshit. it’s like “least favorite band: the stooges (except iggy)” or some other comparison that’s less stupid.

(btw ally “you are stupid” was not directed at you i just forgot to change the login). florida totally sucks but there was one cool thing about it. well there are two cool things about it, both incredible animal/wildlife/nature related—one: the everglades. two: i lived there when i was a v. v. young youth and one of my cornerstone memories is of riding in my mom’s car when i was about 3 during love bug (Plecia nearctica) mating season, where they join at the abdomen and undertake sexy sexy flights, and it being this totally rad biblical plague of locusts type thing where the impact of their bodies smacking against the windshield was unmatched by like every single rainstorm i’ve ever driven through combined. windshield wipers were essential to not dying. that was pretty cool.

I will say it again: you are completely insane if you have a problem with Disneyworld. Laurel, thank you for keeping a name I understand ;_;

xpost yeah, see, the everglades are pretty cool too. Maybe the rest of you should get the hell out of Miami when you go to FL and explore the world!!!

The House Meets the Mouse, Part One

(May 11, 1993)

The family goes to Disney World, where Michelle becomes the park’s “princess for the day” and runs away after her sisters and Kimmy talks about how selfish she is being. Danny wants to ask Vicky if she will marry him.

Rumors circulated that 11 yr old Jodie Sweetin was killed in a car accident in 1993, this was not true, seeing the fact that she was filming a new full house episode called the house meets the mouse in orlando florida , also you can see behind the scenes of this special episode on you tube.

[edit] The House Meets the Mouse, Part Two

(May 18, 1993)

The family looks for Michelle, meanwhile D.J. longs for Steve and appears in Orlando. Danny pops the question, and Vicky says yes.

Jodie Sweetin really didn’t know how famous she had become until the filming of this particular episode, filmed in Disney MGM Studios.During the filming of this episode, Jodie Sweetin was harassed because when she walked into the bathroom at Disney World, people were asking her for autographs, and she was upset. After the filming of this episode, producers had realized that all three girls had to be protected,so security was enforced.

clarification: florida is pure vile piss shit from fuck hell

DR. HOUSE MEETS THE MOUSE

Pfft. 23.43 miles of I-95 is in Delaware. That’s only a couple of bucks, you big exaggerator.

I’ll cop to all the outlets, though.

ALLY I AM JENNY. I live in Chicago and I agree with you a lot, except for this craziness where you like Florida and South Carolina, which is just craziness.

^^^ dudes check that.

xpost at least you can buy booze in FL, unlike in Folkston. I mean seriously you of all peopel should have some vague appreciation for the existance of FL.

Pete I was hoping so much that would be a summary of a House episode instead of what it is :(

CO sort of sucks for some of the people, but it is amazingly beautiful, no matter how hackneyed “mountains” seem.

OTM!

OMG HOUSE WAS SO GOOD LAST NIGHT

i predict house shoots tritter or tritter shoots house by the end of the season—the preview for next week’s ep seems to make less dramatic the story arc, and its GOTTA ramp up by the end

hello Jenny, I am sorry but I am totally convinced that SC is secretly awesome, mainly because I’ve never ever been to any of it. Also I love this cat:

xpost what does that mean, “hackneyed mountains”???

i’ve never been to disney world.

i’ve only been to tampa when in florida and that was for work. we did an install at honeywell and were out in 45 minutes. so we went to busch gardens and drank free beer at 10:30 in the morning.

yeah ally re:FL, my friend tells me it aint always so bad, and i believe -ish her

xpost—not mountains, the idea of mountains, hence “”mountains.“”

Disneyworld is AWESOME, you can totally skip the lines and just ride Space Mountain ALL DAY once you just do the line one (1) time. Also: full of creepy giant stuffed animals walkin around, harrassing you. And they have booze there, though truth be told in Sea World you can openly stroll around with your booze AND smoke, even around the seals and shit.

xpost the IDEA of mountains???! But...there are mountains there.

I’m not sure how I feel about Bizarro-Ally who likes FL and doesn’t like CO. Actually, I take that back: it seems totally Ally somehow, but bizarro world for anyone ever thinking that EVER!!! FL is good for snorkeling and camping on that one key that’s all a protected state park and is totally unimproved. Also the Everglades. That is all.

When the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort employed about 5,500 “cast members”. Today it employs more than 58,000, spending more than $1.1 billion on payroll and $478 million on benefits each year. The largest single-site employer in the United States [1], Walt Disney World Resort has more than 3,000 job classifications.

I agree with you about the cat, ALL the cats, but you’ll just have to find out for yourself about SC, I guess.

One good thing about SC is that it has a Peachoid Water Tower:

also points in colorado’s favor: stores named “kum and go” and “gay johnson’s.”

xxx-post but only the idea can be hackneyed im through with semantix 4 now

that peach shit pwns dude!

see, that crazy water tower is what I’m talking about. That’s awesome.

I need to go back to sleep. TOM are we still going to restaurant tonite?

xpost dude no more of this hackneyed mountains nonsense, you’re making me think of that dumb Shakira song. Also: gay johnson’s seems like it must rule. I’m just not a big mountains/nature kinda gal, so CO seems hella boring to me. WA seems better because it has all those things PLUS this thing:

^^^ I mean what is that even about!!

also twin peaks yo!

CO also has many velvet ants, my sometimes favorite insect:

-most interesting random fact about a person from the best category

-modes of transportation in the worst category

if u would plz

runner up for worst (only because i have only witnessed this once and commute is 5 or more times/wk): douchey guys on metro on saturday night talking about how they get away with drunk driving, booty calls, and being generally obnoxious and wearing awful clothing/hairstyles (soul patch, gel in hair, acid wash faux distressed ironic 80s jeans, purple button down over t-shirt, etc.).

-i heard a pretty juicy rumor from best but it’s not professionally responsible to share ;) random fact: lots of people in office are from buffalo or have western ny connections. spooky!

-bussux (only runs every 30 min; randomly skips one route btw 7–8pm which is when i usually get to bus stop, so if i miss 7:16 bus, i have to call for ride or take cab; 30 min cycle also means i get to work 20 min early every day bc that’s the only way to get there not late based on bus + metro scheduling). the skinny: it takes me 90 min to get home most nights.

i am going to move soon.

oops i misread i thought you asked for worst mode of transport. anyway my modes are: foot, bus, metro.

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯Almost a month passes⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Today I have to work. It is also ROLLING THUNDER day: memorial biker rally. Gonna be a noisy 7 hrs!!

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯A year passes⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

so yeah, anyone at War on Drugs tonight? probably not. it’ll just be me and the band, hanging out, a little bit of me consoling them that no one else showed up for the show, but mainly just learning a lot about one another.

Sorry. Saw North African guitarist Bombino Friday night and yesterday saw actor John Hurt in the overrated one man drama from Samuel Beckett— “Krapp’s Last Tape,”

How was the War on Drugs r n r hotel gig ZS?

it was great! i haven’t been to a show all by myself in years, but i actually really enjoyed myself. although, unfortunately they ended the set with a cover of the dead’s “touch of grey” (i like the dead, but...not that song), which was a bummer.

i felt so sorry for the opener, though (Cat Martino, who apparently has played keyboards for Sharon Van Etten, and also happens to look exactly like Sharron Van Etten, and who made me feel really guilty because of course she had to be really hot and i had to spend the whole set being a guy thinking about she was really hot). the whole set ran way late because of ambiguous “technical problems”. when she took the stage, she said that she only had a 1-minute soundcheck, and sure enough, about 30 seconds into her first song her loopstation pedalboard *POPPED* and then went dead. since all of her songs are based around loops that she gradually adds to and subtracts from, she was unable to improvise around the problem. after a few minutes of painfully awkward stage banter (i felt so sorry for her, it’s like a performer’s worst nightmare), they fixed it and she started again. unfortunately, though, the disaster repeated itself 3–4 times over her short set, cutting her song off halfway each time. just to cap things off, on the final song, the pickup on her guitar broke. she turned around and grabbed a guitar from War on Drugs and started to play again, but it turned out it was in a wildly different tuning.

anyway, to sum up, it was the most technical difficulties-riddled set i’ve ever seen in my life, and i’ve seen a fair share i think!

(sound for War on Drugs was excellent, btw)

sigh

That’s rough.

For those into seeing 2 small rooms worth of photos of DC punk circa 1979 and hearing a discussion of it—this is going on Saturday December 10th at 6 at the Civilian Arts Project gallery near the Convention Center;

Please join the crew that put together this project: Lucian Perkins, Alec MacKaye, Lely Constantinople, and Jayme McLellan for a candid casual discussion on the origin of the work, the inspiration for the writing, the forthcoming book, and the traveling exhibition that is HARD ART DC 1979

Etete gave my friend and I a lot less veggies than when I was there with the ILX/ILE crew (was that over a year ago?)...I think I like Meazza out on Colombia Pike in Arlington more

they also raised they’re prices about a year or so ago

I noticed that too. I got more food for less money at Meazza. I still have not tried Ethiopic on H St NE.

hey DC—meetup Friday, featured guest, Stevie D!

Let me know the where and when and I will endeavor to get out the burbs in time to join!

Seconded!

what would be a good place, do you think? something close to metro, i’m assuming, but feel free to suggest something, because i’ve only lived here a couple years and most of those were spent stranded out in Takoma Park.

i have thai x-ing reservations friday (on the early side) but i could come out afterwards—no particular preference in terms of where

ok, location tbd, but can we can go ahead and set the time? say, 7 pm?

i am down w/ this

lubbock babes, i have no idea who you are, but it would be cool to meet you! :)

also, i’m assuming that since no one was for or against my proposal of 7pm, it was received with awed silence. “7pm...BRILLIANT”

actually my thai x-ing reservation is at 7, but go ahead w/o me and i’ll try to catch up after?

omg thai x-ing

had pumpkin curry when i was there last

AMAZING

Other nominations welcome, but if we’re looking for Metro accessibility, in Silver Spring there’s Mandalay or Quarry House Tavern.

U street of course, but it gets almost too crowded later in the night at every location seemingly there on Friday nights

Arg, normally I’d be all about Mandalay/Quarry House, but that’s right by where i used to live and there’s a decent possibility of running into my ex there. sorry to bring that kind of bs into this but that would really ruin my night. U st does sound good...I think if we started a little earlier in the night (7 or 8 maybe), we might be able to get around the crowd issue.

z_s, I posted on tru-ilx as “los blue jeans”, not that I really established much of an internet persona or anything

oh, cool! and of course i’ve seen your posts! :)

well i’m not in any condition to make any sort of statement about anything right now, and especially not a suggestion for a decision, and certainly not a decision at all. but tomorrow, by high noon, it would be good if we had a location nailed down.

everything about this is absurd

the attention to detail is thrilling, from “HEMP LASSO” to “sheriff” sign

NOON

HEMP LASSO

LASSO!

Oh god I have to go to bed.

from 77 thread some may know that my own HIGH NOON mega job thing was postponed, but was revived on the fly with big boss inviting me to drinks after work?? Anyway drinks were had, things went well (I think?), and now I am up waaaay past my bedtime :(

*HIGH NOON FIVE* awesome!!

ok, it’s long past HIGH NOON, so:

How about Matchbox at 7:30?

713 H St NW, Washington DC 20001

Chinatown location, block away from metro

It has food in case people are hungry, also plenty of drinks (http://www.matchboxchinatown.com/index.php/menu/drinks)

Anyone have any objections? I could also make a reservation for a table, although I’m not sure how many are coming. Quincie, los blue jeans, govern yourself accordingly, and j.lu., me, stevie d... So I’ll make a reservation for 6–7 people at 7:30?

Sounds good! Guys what should I do today?

no reservations for matchbox on a Friday :-/

but i’ll be there a little before 7:30, so i’ll try to snag us a spot. i’ll probably be wearing either a green coat or, if the coat is off, a grey longsleeve shirt that says

MIDI

MIDI

MIDI

on it. also i’ll be the really skinny guy who looks like he’s 14.

you came you saw you synthd

damn i really want

veni

wish you could be here, hoos :-/

Where is a Hoos anyway???

boston, i believe

what no

i’m here

oh lol yeah i think people think i’m in boston because of my “boston” status update on fb in solidarity w/occ boston?

but i am here, trying to figure out if i can make it out tonight

well steve, if nothing else i’ll be there. :)

quincie, j.lu., lubbock babes—are you still planning on coming? 2 people said via email they wouldn’t be able to come, but i don’t know anyone’s real name so \_(..)_/

Sorry, I won’t be able to make it—I got up too early and am dying on my feet. Have a good time!

yes, I will be there

probably not exactly at 1930

Quncie can’t make it :-( she will be missed

trying to decide if i want to go to my officr christmas party tonight in arlington or not—either way i’m gonna show up SOMEWHERE in an ill fitting suit

shit, i set my alarm for 6:50 am instead of 6:50 pm and overslept my nap! heading out door now!

(i’ll be there at about 7:45—sorry for running late, d’oh!)

If anyone shows up say yr here for the table of 4 for Steve!

Can’t make it either-

curmudgeon St3ve

Y’all have fun

we did! it was awesome to meet stevie d (who is in the midst of a hellish open-to-close shift at work right now, R.I.P.) and los blue jeans!

we did miss the presence of the other 18 people who weren’t able to come, however

(ICE BURN)

i really wanted to stop by, at least for a drink—couldn’t convince my friends to go to chinatown

thai x-ing was fun though—i wouldn’t quite rank it up there with jitlada/lotus of siam/sripraphai in terms of the absolute BEST thai places i’ve been to, but i can’t imagine that there are many multicourse thai tasting menus of this quality for $40, and the peaks of the meal (pumpkin curry, cucumber soup) were awesome

hey thanks guys it was fun!

God, that shift was hellish. I ended up going to U Hall til like 12:30 and didn’t fall asleep at my friends til 2h later. I woke up in Arlington at 5:45 and then had to be in Philly for an 8hr shift by noon ;_;

sorry i missed you, stevie :(

“it’s not eden... and there’s no prairie anymore.”

the pulitzer photography exhibit at newseum is so heavy.

i am actually considering a membership there after spending 2 consecutive afternoons and feeling like i didn’t even scratch the surface.

Many of those photos are heart-wrenching. The Newseum is just so expensive.

i got a groupon a while ago! half price. i’d been waiting to go for a year and a half. but at $10 for 2 days, it’s definitely worth it.

A friend of mine got the groupons and that’s how I finally saw the place. But their regular rate is pricey imho for what they have—$20 something, and its $75 a year for a membership- it gets you a 5 percent discount on lunch at The Source by Wolfgang Puck and Advance notice of cutting-edge programs and other stuff

The Harry Callahan photos across the street in the West Wing of the National Gallery for a little while longer, are worth seeing (and free)

Deeeee Ceeee

Is anyone going to see Mark Robinson sing at Galaxy Hut tonight? GF out of town, buddies can’t go, I’m gonna go anyway I think

Or maybe not. Not sure I want to stand around through the 2 opening acts

http://www.theruinedcapitol.blogspot.com/

An architectural eulogy of Washington D.C.

that’s awesome, thanks for linking to that!

Some great photos on that blog

yah that rulez

Uh oh,looks like Capitol Police want to keep Hoos and others from the mall. Capitol Police taking over from National Park Service jurisdiction re parts of the mall.

Unrelated, I wonder how long that project to put new grass and whatever underneath it will take on the mall. It’s all fenced in now.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/control-of-the-malls-union-square-changes-hands/2011/12/22/gIQAtOSOLP_story.html?hpid=z2

I like old buildings as much as anyone but that Ruined Capitol site is ridiculously one sided and would be better off without the copy.

Also phrases like “When we set out to replace our European and American architectural heritage” always set off warning bells for me like maybe the writer is trying to say something else...

Good catch. Skimmed over that phrase

Uh oh,looks like Capitol Police want to keep Hoos and others from the mall. Capitol Police taking over from National Park Service jurisdiction re parts of the mall.

read about this today—really amazed that they didn’t even bother putting out an official explanation. i feel like the puzzled quotes in the post article kinda say it all.

Kinda fishy.

So I saw Ian Svenonius’ band Chain & the Gang with Heavy Breathing(former members of Apes) at the Black Cat backstage last night. I have to admit I am now officially bored with Ian’s between-song chatting and his average singing/talking. But quite a dc scene there last night—Mary Timony (now in Wild Flag); Mark Robinson; Richards & Malitz from the Post; Ian and Alec Mackaye; Erin from Bratmobile; Eli Janney

Kinda fishy.

i meeeeeeeeeeean i don’t know that we provoked it per se—especially not by planning #J17 stuff, as I keep hearing—it was already in the spending bill that passed a few weeks ago. it’s more troubling development for the long-run than “oh man they’re strategizing against us.”

I finally ate at Horace & Dickey’s on 12 st NE today (after having my cholesterol checked this morning!

where should i go for brunch tomorrow? it is a special brunch but i don’t want to spend too much...

Don’t know how much it is but what about Georgia Brown’s?

Birch & Barley!

i thought about that! and then i thought about being lazy and tried to make a reservation at vermillion in old town but they’re not having brunch tomorrow so i am going to do mediocre brunch at another old town place... next time, i guess.

Happy New Year. Washington Post “List” is hidden this year and boring.
