“...ate my DOUGHnut!”

who do you guys think should be gettin’ sum awardz:

Your choices are all correct except I would also pick LDT for OPOY and I wouldn’t even think about Brees for MVP. I mean he’s been good and everything but come on, this is just sentimental pish-posh.

DROY: kamerion wimbley or tamba hali

i think breezy is pretty deserving, though the last coupla saints games have been a little underwhelming. he’s a solid number 2 behind ladainian, if nothing else.

MVP: Peyton, that team is lucky to crack .500 without him

OROY: Young, but it’s pretty stiff competition. I’d go with Colston second, then maybe MOJO. They’re never giving it to a lineman, dude.

DROY: got me, Ryans, I suppose?

DPOY: Taylor

OPOY: Ladainian

oh oh, i forgot Champ Bailey for DPOY. he and taylor should split it. the fact that he leads the league in INTs for two consecutive years even though nobody really throws to him is pretty unbelievable. dude is on some next-level shit.

Pennington isn’t a bad quarterback. I’m not going to claim him as a HOFer or anything like that but he’s good at what he does. And the arm is better than people think. The Jets look like a .500 team and give or take a few breaks or bounces their record could just as easily be 6–9 as 9–6. I suspect they’ll make the playoff, but it will be a one and done. Mangini’s done a good coaching job, but Payton’s still coach of the year.

They’re never giving it to a lineman, dude.

So what?

he’s a solid number 2 behind ladainian, if nothing else.

I’d go:

1. LDT

2. They’re saying “Mooooooovers”

3. Brees

4. LJ

5. Frank Gore

So what?

So, reality check. All else being equal, I’d still have to go with Young. Dude’s been winning games on his lonesome.

you mean aside from the game that pacman won? the guy is legit though.

comeback player of the year: javon walker?

Possibly. Maybe McGahee or Gore.

now that i think about it, CPOY should be warren sapp. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him dominate brian waters like he did on saturday. maybe waters is just more washed up than him, but i find that hard to believe.

T.O. for comeback player of the year!

Well, not Gore. Kinda hard to comeback in your second year. Never mind.

xpost, that’s just spitting in the wind.

Young’s had a good rookie year. But the real story for Tennessee has been the defense. They’ve won a few games on their own and have kept the scores close enough so that Young can do his thing. I like how Norm Chow and Fisher have tailored the offense to suit Young’s skills. Seeing how Tennessee started with five losses and the way they’ve recovered I think Fisher ought to be in the running for COY.

How about Norm Chow to Atlanta for head coach? Now that might be a good fit.

Vince Young is definitely the straw that stirs the Titans drink, as once he got in the the lineup, their offense could control the ball which led to their defense improving as they were not having to play 3/4 of a game. I think Travis Henry deserves something, as that dude has played great for Tennessee.

Payton is coach of the year. Anyone that wins with the Saints should be coach of the year, let alone all that went down last year. Criminy, the dude deserves some serious points for just how he skunked Parcells in Dallas with a few calls coming up right. NO’s general manager Loomis deserves some serious props, as that guy made a few calls in both the draft and free agency which look sweet. Colston looks to be the steal of the draft.

Linebacker AJ Hawk has also had a good rookie year for the Packers. I’ve been impressed by what I have seen from him.

Before I totally forget:

Sometime last week, I woke up (in the PM) to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio trying to justify Matt Millen’s continued employment. His defense: a large number of the guys that MM drafted are starting for the Lions, so, hey, he must be doing something right.

DPOY should go to devin hester since there’s no STROY to give him.

alternatively the bears can win the super bowl and give him the MVP like the packers in 1996.

I mean seriously the packers won the super bowl that year guys and gave the mvp to their punt returner, have you heard about this? also brett favre once had an opiate problem.

Sometimes ESPN says the dumbest things. Millen may survive another year. He’s like the cockroach of general managers.

Alternatively the Bears can just fuck the hell right off.

: D

No offense.

i’m with you some sundays, at least when it pertains to a certain r. grossman

“The worst offenders are the defensive line. And Gibril Wilson is the ringleader of the group. They’re taking out the girls, bringing them to parties and making them skip work. [They have] been practically living at the club and picking the girls off a lot more than they’ve been picking off passes. They’re here all the time and I’m sick of them. I hope they read this and get pisseed off and stop coming.”

Out There Story of the Day!!!

According to the asshats at profootballtalk so don’t believe a word:

The Krafts may let Belichick go because he allegedly had an affair with a married woman from New Jersey. WTF. I now have a mental image burned into my brain of Belichick sexing-up wearing nothing but his sweatshirt. Ewwwwww!!! Please dear God make it stop!!!!!

http://www.nypost.com/seven/12192006/gossip/pagesix/call_it_adultery_pagesix_.htm

OK that’s completely batshit insane.

Billy! Getting some! IN THE SWEATS!

well, he DID go to wesleyan and wesleyan DID have a reputation for being a hippie school ...

Belichick, giving love a bad name.

that story is is months fucking old, and it’s not the first one that’s gone around. that’s why bb earned the “hooded cassanova” nickname at cstb. i don’t think the krafts would let him go for any sort of zipper problems unless he drifts into dave meggett territory.

I don’t believe that Belichick has genitals, is the thing.

He has spores! That’s why he wears baggy sweats! To keep them moist & dark!

are they green? Are his teste’s verde?

god I’m bored

ME TOO

but he doesn’t have any testes.

every time i stand up i get dizzy and then when i sit down it still takes a few seconds for me to be sure i won’t pass out. so i’ve been getting up and walking about the square of cubicles every couple of minutes because i’m the only one in them today. i think there are only 3 people on the second floor today.

BBBBOOOOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEEEEDDDDDDD!!!!!!!

There are more people in my office today than yesterday. Someone had the shits this morning, & is working from home. WTF is wrong w/ people?

My coworker missed his bus this morning, offered to work from home (keep in mind that he is on the road most of the time, so he is specifically set up to work remotely 80% of the time and it wouldn’t be unusual), was told he HAD to come in by our boss (despite fact that we have received very few inquiries or responses this week due to holiday and we’re only working a half day today), so he drove in. Goes and parks in our parking garage (ie the private one in our building, that our company owns, that only company employees can park in) AND THEY CHARGED HIM $10 FOR THE PRIVLEDGE. WTF?

For comparison’s sake, there are multiple public garages surrounding our building, all of which have $5 “early bird specials” that cover parking from like anytime before 8:30 until 5 or 6pm, so he’s paying double price to park IN HIS OWN COMPANY’S LOT. Who has ever heard of this?

I’m so happy I take the train. DO NOT PARK

NFL miracle = we leave at 3pm today. Magnum of red wine, goodbye.

Oh yeah, obviously take public transit if you can, coworker in question wouldn’t have been driving if not for fact he was ordered to come in for no good reason.

Ha—I was asked if I’d be around this weekend in case shit goes down because THE BUSINESS will be working on year-end reporting, & I might have to be around to bitch @ in case the reporting portal poops its Pampers. Good thing I’m a loser!

CANKLES TAKE ME AWAY

$10 is highway robbery to park, but $5 is actually pretty reasonable (cheaper than where I work).

Getting out early means I can watch the SUN BOWL. Vern Lundquist, hang on, I’m coming home.

No Gus Johnson, no peace.

Alright, any NY people wanna see the game? Or Jersey?

i’ll take that as a no.

yay tiki

Daaamn, Tiki.

I did not mean to

pick the Redskins o’er the Jints

I clicked the wrong thing

what a way for tiki to go out!

As much as I dog living in MS, it has been nice getting the Saints game every week this season.

thx for your help during the fantasy season, tiki.

lol @ protracted misery

GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the dream is still alive/one day it will come true

tennessee need the following to get a WC:

KC win, Denver loss, Cincy loss

unfortunately it looks like NE actually wants to win this game. ;_; GO VINNNNNNNNNNN-SUH

also, rodney harrison got taken out with a chop block. couldnt have happened to a nicer guy

ooh, so many penalties. tenn could still get this. yeah vince! within 3...

how about detroit maybe playing its way out of the #1 pick...

GO IGGLES ... AND YAY JETS!!!!!!!!!!

WHY the FUCK did Cincy blow one of their timeouts to ice the Pittsburgh kicker???? There’s one minute left!!

am i right that jax lost a chance at getting the ball back by JUMPING OFFSIDES on a 4th down?

i guess that my punishment for posting that ugly-ass photo of jeff garcia has been meted out — they just benched him b/c of the cowboys’ loss.

even when they lose, i STILL hate the cowboys!! ;—;

The play at the end of the Bengals / Steelers game when Holmes extended into the endzone was so. awesome.

LJ breaks Jamal Anderson’s record for carries in a season with 416. congrats Herm, you just killed one of the best backs in the league

i should clarify my last post — the cowboys lost, reid didn’t want garcia to get hurt so he benched him and put in AJ feeley. OK for the iggles — NOT OK for my fantasy team, since jeff garcia was my QB.

even when the cowboys lose, they FUCK me. reason 1,000,535 to hate them and parcells ;__;

NASDAQ INDEX 2.78 ^ GOOG 4.23 v SCHB 23.24 ^

Fantasy leagues that have games in Week 17 = BUSH

Marvin Lewis icing kicker = INSTANT KARMA IN THE ASS when Cowher did the same thing on the Bungles GW attempt—and it worked!

HELLO DENVER PLEASE GET IT OVER WITH ALREADY

lol at denver, lol at indy having to face larry johnson

Indy vs. awesome running game

Belichek v. Mangenius III

Giants v. Eagles awesomeness

Dallas v. Seattle snooooze

So which NFL player is going to get arrested tonight for blowing off steam via alkyhaul/drogs/guns? I mean, end of regular season + New Year’s Eve on the same night, somebody’s going to have a blowout.

DOH for the Titans. Everything but the win.

WHY the FUCK did Cincy blow one of their timeouts to ice the Pittsburgh kicker???? There’s one minute left!!”

Marvin must be starting to huff the same stuff as his players.

The Bengals have had more success overall as a franchise, but like the Saints, they seem to have a history of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Considering everything, they did not deserve to go to the playoffs. They had a lot of key injuries to go with the off the field crap that led to some of their problems early on, but they still should have won 11 games.

Dallas Clark coming back for Indy is a pretty big thing. He played pretty good today, even with the big knee brace. For the Colts to have a chance in the playoffs, they are going to have to come out bombs away and try to get up a couple scores. If they can get up a bit, it will force teams to have to throw.

The evil Pats are lurking out there. I think they are kind of dark horse scary at this point, as their defense seems to have gelled and is much better than last year. If it ends up with NE and the Ravens for the AFC title game, I will be looking forward to baseball getting started. I will watch ANYONE but those two.

I think the Eagles might be the favorite now in the NFC, they definitely look like a more complete club right now. The Bears D is pretty average now and it doesn’t matter who plays QB. Dallas, the Giants and Seattle are all pretty much a joke. I’d like to think that the Saints could get there, but they have been pretty ho hum since blasting the Cowboys in the last few weeks.

I’ve got a bad feeling it is going to end up with either NE or Baltimore winning it all and the thought of that makes me kind of sick.

I know they have Schottenheimer and everything, but I really like the Chargers’ chances. I think they’re easily the least flawed, least injured team in the AFC.

So which NFL player is going to get arrested tonight for blowing off steam via alkyhaul/drogs/guns?

Broncos cornerback shot and killed in drive-by“

As much as I dog living in MS, it has been nice getting the Saints game every week this season.

— The PEW Research Center for Panty-Twisting (crump...), December 31st, 2006. (later)

not this week. saw the first td in the hotel bar, figured saints would dominate. ;_;

It made sense for them to pull the starters and sandbag a bit, with no change in seeding at stake. Deuce was even inactive, for no medical reason. I don’t want to get my hopes up too high, but they look good going into the playoffs. That first drive was a bit of “here’s a little reminder how bad we’re gonna fuck y’all” to the rest of the conference, and the rest of the game was determining bench strength.

they certainly fucked carolina on that opening drive. it was great to watch from the airport bar in atlanta, roffle at sad-sack falcons fans.

speaking of which, roffle at jim mora.

Major roffle. I’d love to be a fly on the wall the next time Jim Jr. and Jim Sr. get together. They took turns shitting that bed.

I hold out hope for a Saints/Chargers Superbowl.

That Darrent Williams shooting is a real shame and a saddening story.

i stayed home on friday night to watch the insight bowl. I hope someone in the nfl is crazy/dumb enough to give Mike Leach a job.

i too am terrified that Baltimore could win the SB. i think they have the best shot right now, though the pats could deliver unto them a mighty rapin’. i dont think the pats are good enough to win the SB right now, but tell that to the Rams I guess. the fact that KC and the Jets are in the playoffs should temper any “nfc sux u r all fags” talk imo. i have a feeling that Seattle could get hot in the playoffs, they looked good against SD when they weren’t giving the game away (tho they were at home).

Kansas City at Indianapolis (u herd me~)

Dallas at Seattle

N.Y. Jets at New England

N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia

re: Philly, they didn’t exactly beat the Redskins in a convincing manner, and if you can’t beat the Redskins convincingly and you expect to be a playoff team...well...haha I guess that makes you the Colts but seriously they are in third place (one out of the ‘Boys and they lose the tie breaker with the Giants) and play both of those teams on the road the next two weeks. It’s basically batshit insane to think they’ll win all three of their next three games (hahaha they’ll definitely beat the Falcons though).

lawl

i got drunk early last night. seriously i’ve never seen a team get torpedoed more by its own qb than the bears. they need to bring in someone else next year. i hear jake plummer will be available ; (

THATS CRAZYTALK GEAR

idk why but i really thought grossman would turn it around by the end of the season. lmbo @ me. anyway the defense is the real problem now :(

i’m thinking an eagles-pats or bears-pats rematch this year!

i think the bears’ D got sonned by rex’s miscues and were worn out pretty early on, plus they got those injuries.

god i couldn’t believe grossman last night. that fumble & that second INT esp. they should see if they can wheel and deal for matt schaub or something, he’s gotta be better. or vinny testaverde maybe?

So which NFL player is going to get arrested tonight for blowing off steam via alkyhaul/drogs/guns?

Travis Taylor.

So which NFL player is going to get arrested tonight for blowing off steam via alkyhaul/drogs/guns?

i guess that this “honor” should be called “the steamer wilson award” (after that dude on the bengals in 1989 who was found in his hotel shower offa his mind on coke & may have cost the bengals the SB that year).

I know they have Schottenheimer and everything, but I really like the Chargers’ chances. I think they’re easily the least flawed, least injured team in the AFC.

schottenheimer is a BIG obstacle — “death, taxes, and no team coached by marty schottenheimer ever getting to the SB,” and all that. i’m picking the ravens v. seahawks.

actually, i just turned on the news and saw the story about darrent williams — and i now want to revoke my “steamer wilson” comment. i didn’t know about it when i wrote that post.

i feel shitty now :-(

(my predictions re schottenheimer, the ravens and the seahawks still stands tho’)

i am rooting for da jets in the “mangenius vs. team/coach voltron” rematch. even though i know that the jets are going nowhere fast during the playoffs.

and though i picked the seahawks to win the NFC, i also like the eagles’ chances (even though i think that they’ll lose it in the end).

Picks for this week: home teams/favorites all the way. But just to rank upsets in order of likelihood, I’ll say Giants—Chiefs—Cowboys—Jets.

Kansas City at Indianapolis

Dallas at Seattle

N.Y. Jets at New England

N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia

if the jets played the giants in the first round, who wins?

Comedians everywhere.

if jeff garcia laughs @ giant fan motherfuckers, then aj feeley laughs @ all of us:

Oh mercy. Is that Maria Bello?

he sure is feeley-in’, all right.

Maria Bello is a good twenty years older than that woman, and better looking. Be ashamed, Rock Hardy. Be ashamed.

LOL @ Mora Sr. being drilled on the coaching changes today on NFLN. Also LOL @ other commentators repeatedly suggesting that Falcons should consider Mariucci, way to have respect for yr fellow broadcaster dudes. “Your son sucks! You know who would be awesome, that drunk who is always on Eisen’s jock and cryin’ over Favre. He would be better...than your son LOL!~!!”

lolol yes. i am kind of less than thrilled with vick being all like “WELL WE DIDNT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS OR POST A WINNING RECORD BUT I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH MY EXTRAORDINARY SEASON”, it’s this relentless quest for perfection that makes you wonder how anyone could say the falcons underachieve.

hearing mooch’s name get thrown around scares me, keep those WCO mofos away from the team ploz.
