How many Lions fans are even going to be around to do the protest walkout at 8:57 remaining in the 2nd quarter of the Bears game?

just remembered, did anyone notice in the monday night game, a fan had a sign that read:

OCHO CINCO

MUCHO STINKO

...many lollolers followed in this household.

OMG, the Giants LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

Yes that is the correct reaction.

carolina basically ran the oklahoma wishbone all day. it was pretty lol actually, deangelo williams would take a direct snap on 3rd and 8 and run for the 1st and this happened at least 6 times. lawl. Weinkeball! we got Weinke’d :[ i wasnt even mad or disappointed or nothin cuz it was just so surreal to see. anyway I think it’s clear now that no team in the NFC deserves to win anything, they should demote half the conference to the Big East or something.

anyway I think it’s clear now that no team in the NFC deserves to win anything

yeah, seriously. every time I see the dudes on NFLN describe how about 237 7–8 teams are “still in it” my desire to even watch the playoffs dies a little more.

also, my mom could not give less of a shit about pro football or sports of any kind, but she was sitting by the TV while I was watching some of the Giants’ postgame press conference and became totally mesmerized by Tiki Barber. she is in love.

tiki would be awesome if he weren’t a total republican

anyway I think it’s clear now that no team in the NFC deserves to win anything

No way, the Saints deserve Super Bowl rings. But I’m not going to hold my breath or anything.

i hope it’s a bears-saints nfc showdown and though obv i want the bears to win, if the saints win i’m not gonna feel too bad because i actually love payton, colston, bush, deuce, etc.

deuce vs. moose!

i think jeff garcia was wearing lip gloss in that promo bite about how fun football is when you’re playing with a group of talented guys.

Jimmy Kimmel actually made me laugh with his Christmas presents segment. For Peyton: a t-shirt that says “Mom & Dad Love Me Most.” For Eli: a t-shirt that says “That’s Probably True.”

ctrl-f JOEL HAS BEEN RIGHT ABOUT THE SAINTS ALL SEASON LONG not found. fuck you guys.

I WON THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS IN MY FANTASY LEAGUE, Y’ALL! FUCK YEAH!

nfc east ftw dudes

y’all otha suckas can’t deny

UH

Can we also LOL at the Cincinnati Bengals?

^^^^^^^^^ 100% yes

congratulations to ade ‘aidsy’ langston on his ilnfl fantasy championship. runner up: romosexuals. 3rd place: cnnsi’s peter king. ampipe bulldogs: 4th.

So the Eagles are this week’s NFC team. That means they’ll stink out the place next Sunday. The NFC is sad. Maybe the NFL should seed teams this year to cut down on the NFC crap factor.

So who wants a Coughlin or Mora dead pool?

I’m taking Coughlin, 1st day of Giants post-season. They’ll wait a day or two for Mora.

That sounds right. I predict Eli will be the only Giant to stick up for Coughlin after the ax.

If he says anything; he’s the only one on the team who hasn’t had a public blowout with the dude. The rest of them will hold a ticker tape parade.

I’m gonna take a moment and lobby again for Norm Chow as new qb coach or possibly even head for the Giants.

awesome, bears/packers game is the national sunday night game so perhaps the pats/titans game will be televised in chicago? hope hope hope so.

Two days before the Pittsburgh-Denver playoff game, Pennsylvania high school teacher John Kelly made a Broncos jersey-wearing student sit on the floor during a midterm exam, then had other students pelt him with paper.

^^^^^^ lol thanks ESPN pg 2

also LOL @ TO returning to bitching about his QB and the play calls. Pretty long honeymoon this go round, at least.

The NFC is sad. Maybe the NFL should seed teams this year to cut down on the NFC crap factor.

Yes, definitely start with the NFC crap factor, the Browns, Texans, Raiders and Bills are perfect examples of parity at work in 2006.

Oh well there’s no need to pick on the Bills, they are just as good as the Giants are.

“So who wants a Coughlin or Mora dead pool?”

HOW does Matt Millen still have a job??!?!?

blow jobs

that cannot actually be true

Mora or Coughlin dead pool is kind of like duck hunt with the zapper pointed at a lamp

And congrats, Adam Schefter, on your engagement. You’re 40. About time you settled down with a nice Long Island girl.

that’s from peter king’s column, i can’t decide if he’s being snarky or serious.

peter king being snarky about adam schefter is like, uh, two krispy kreme donuts punching each other, or something

like vomit telling poop it stinks?

“Yes, definitely start with the NFC crap factor, the Browns, Texans, Raiders and Bills are perfect examples of parity at work in 2006.”

Or addendum if you lost to any of these teams you are dis-qualified from the playoff.

If he says anything; he’s the only one on the team who hasn’t had a public blowout with the dude. The rest of them will hold a ticker tape parade.

word — coughlin is going to join ray handley and richie kotite in that special place where the biggest NYC head coach fuck-ups go after they get shitcanned.

oh yeah — YAY IGGLES and YAY JETS. mangini for couch of the year?!? (still woulda been nice if laveranues could’ve, like, gotten a coupla points ’cause his not doing so eliminated me from my league’s finals) ;__;

“Yes, definitely start with the NFC crap factor, the Browns, Texans, Raiders and Bills are perfect examples of parity at work in 2006.”

in that case, out of playoffs:

jets

green bay (probably out anyway)

atlanta

carolina

kc

indianapolis

The greatest Christmas present this year was not being able to watch the Browns/Bucs game.

Ken Dorsey will be starting Sunday against the Texans. New Years Eve, so much to answer for.

remind me to stay away from downtown or the loop on nye, i figure the bears/packers game should end around 10:30/11:00 pm leaving just enough time for 60,000 drunk football fans to go tearing out of soldier field looking for the nearest bar to ring in the new year.

DISAZTAH WAITIN TA HAP’N.

People who are suddenly about Mangini as coach of year kind of worry me in that they all seem to have pretty short memories that they’ve already forgot about Sean Payton.

Well I’m not sure exactly how the Jets are 9–6 in the AFC without a running game (or a quarterback who can throw past ten yards).

Is that a joke?

No, the Jets really don’t have a running game.

have you seen their schedule? the only team of any note that they beat was the pats (i’m not counting the billy volek-led titans in the first game of the year as a team of note).

Oh, braaaaaaaavo, Daver, braaaaaaavo.

Dude’s I been repping for the Jets as secret East stealers but a 9–6 record with an OKAYISH team in a pretty middling conference/division is not exactly something to start the parades over, in other words, otto OTM. Also Daver, really, I mean that is true (though pretending Pennington sucks is a bit of a stretch).

i had something really sharp and witty to say but i just blew my nose so hard i almost passed out and now i’m dizzy and don’t remember what it was.

i’m gonna feel this embolism in morning.

You people are fucking nuts. Mangini took a middling team that lost a couple extra games last year due to injury and made...A MIDDLING TEAM. Payton took a terrible team and made a contender. I really don’t see where stating “Mangina: Not As Good” is somehow a controversial statement, but y’all can keep up with your spat with hstencil re: “Saints: Fake Team”.

OMG We didn’t split with the Dolphins this year! COACH OF THE YEAR

Though really front-runnerism re: changing BEST WHATEVER OF THE YEAR every couple games is pretty irritating but not as irritating as this one dude I saw on tv who would not shut up about making Belichick coach of the year. WTF??

After the playing the Lions and Browns back to back that bye week sure came in the nick of time.

Anyway, I’m rooting for the Jets because everybody else in the AFC makes me sick. The Titians are my backup team but their uniform makes me want to stick hot kittens into my eyes.

Payton took a terrible team and made a contender.

Well, Mickey Loomis is certainly the GM of the year if it isn’t AJ Smith, but EVERYBODY thought the Saints would be at least a 7–9 team this year with the addition of Brees and a healthy Deuce + Bush. On the contrary, most people thought the Jets would be among the very worst teams in football.

Which is to say:

1) you can’t pick who you play (tho shitting the bed the previous year guarantees a cupcakey schedule)

2) who did the Saints beat (besides early season Philly, and the to-that-point rolling Cowboys)?—the only AFC team they won against was CLEVELAND (sorry lk), the Portisless Redskins took ’em @ home, Tampa Bay sucks, those Hotlanta wins are kinda tarnished, &c.

Meaning that I’m all for Sean Payton as COY (plz kick the crap out of the Bears) (sry otto), but SuperMangina In A Bottle had a lot less to work with than Payton did—give a hairless monkey like Haslett Brees & Bush & Colston & an actual home field, and he could probably win at least 9 games.

That, coupled w/ the fact that he started in the NFL as a BALL BOY at AGE TWENTY THREE, puts him over my top. Even if the Jets are a lock to get bounced in the 1st round. If they make the playoffs.

fuck a duck x-post smorgasborg

Actually, looking at the schedules, I will change my mind and say Payton!

Traitor.

haha, swing your partner, do-si-do

Yeah, Daver, you’re starting to look like a post-late-game Sunday-in-a-bar ranting drunk or something. Jeez louise. Though the ball boy point is fair enough.

Everybody had an easy schedule this year- unless you played the Bears, Ravens, and Chargers five times apiece.

Well do we agree that Mangina is the second best coach of the year, or is it someone from one of the teams that is actually good.

No one gives poor Parcells any love anymore on that front; is it because he is just so much of a douche that people refuse to acknowledge him?

chad pennington is john fucking elway when compared to eli manning — who everyday looks more like the 2d coming of browning nagel than the 2d coming of phil simms.

Well, I’m glad you then support my theory then.

BTW, i’d vote for sean payton as COY over mangini too. still, a coach who can get into playoff contention a team with a so-so defense and where chad pennington and laveranues coles are yer top offensive weapons deserves some love.

Whoa—are you acutally dogging the Jets’ best offensive player (& a dood most teams would kill to have as a wideout)?

& for the record, I’d like to think I always posted like a 7:01 PM Sunday night WFAN-caller drunk.

Pretending that the Giants problem is any one of the players and not entirely the coach + repping Mangina as COY = U R ON MY SHITLIST, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, MICHAEL IRVIN???

No one gives poor Parcells any love anymore on that front; is it because he is just so much of a douche that people refuse to acknowledge him?

Considering how bad they looked against New Orleans and Philly, I think any possibility of that went out the window.

I can kinda see Eisbar wearing a buttass plaid blazer, to be honest (no offense).

Yeah, that is basically OTM but OTOH Tony Romo is still in the

beauty pageant

pro-bowl, what a wacky, wacky world we live in :\

Haha the best part of that TO post-spitting interview was still Deion freaking out about how “You know we don’t talk to Michael Irvin! No one should talk to Michael Irvin!”

i still love how tv analysts insist eli would have been taken #1 even if his name was eli roffling or something. that last name has clout, son!

tony romo is now allegedly dating carrie underwood. dude is making the rounds!

Pretending that the Giants problem is any one of the players and not entirely the coach + repping Mangina as COY = U R ON MY SHITLIST, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, MICHAEL IRVIN???

well, OF COURSE the giants’ problem isn’t any one of their players (though eli is kind of a bust, admit it) and it is really coughlin — i mean, the reason why mangini is getting so much love is because he has a team that, on paper, is not as talented as the giants — yet it’s the jets and not the giants who are doing well.

popshots: i heart LC and yes, while he isn’t an elite receiver he is still much much better than NFL most receivers. i was more harsh on laveranues than i really intended to be — i really meant to say that he and pennington are the only two offensive standouts (no disrespect to cotchery, either), and they are really kinda symbiotic wr2 the jets’ offense (washington’s great game vs. miami notwithstanding, neither he nor kevan barlow are making anyone forget that the jets have no running game w/t curtis martin).

I basically think only completely insane people who have no idea what they are talking about would refer to a basically-second-year QB who is sometimes erratic but has good numbers and is playing for a shitty coach a “bust”? What on earth does that make Rex Grossman, Ryan Leaf?

Whichever of the Williams sisters that is needs to step up their dating game yesterday.

Kevin Barlow is a choad (& not just because he singlehandedly helped torpedo my ILNFL team). It’s all about LEON:

i’m totally willing to believe that eli could turn it around, guy’s not exactly a vet past the point of no return. elway sort of sucked for half a decade, right?

elway sort of sucked for half a decade, right?

yeah, ask cleveland.

Ben Roethlisberger IS Rick Mirer, etc etc. I mean I’m not going to claim Eli as best QB ever by any means but he hasn’t played badly at all, suffers (as do all of the Giants) from a meglomaniacal coach who couldn’t scheme his way consistently past a bunch of kittens much less good teams, and receivers who seem to be on strike until Coughlin is fired. Eli isn’t even given the leeway to audible for god’s sake. If Eli plays very erratically next year under a different coach with a better system you might have a point but pointing at a dude’s second year under Coughlin and calling him a bust is about as Michael Irvinesque as one can get. Without wearing a giant red clown suit, I mean.

from 83–92 he had only one season where his qb rating was above 80! playoff games aside, dude wasn’t a hall of famer at that point. his last six seasons are what got him into canton.

Jay Cutler IS Akili Smith!

Dr Z:

5. Indianapolis Colts (11–4)

OK, they might be futzing around at this point in the season, losing to the Texans and everything, but Ron Dayne, who has yet to make a cut, gaining 153 against them? C’mon now. I mean granted, he’s 300 pounds and only two feet tall, but getting mushed by an O-line that’s responsible for only the 24th ranked rushing offense? Don’t spread this around, but I don’t think Indy is very good against the run.

6. New Orleans Saints (10–5)

They came into Giants Stadium and offered the game to the home team. “Here, you want it?” They proved it by dropping 10 passes. The Giants said no thank you, it would just confuse our fans. So the Saints walked away with the 30–7 win, and here’s my favorite stat, the likes of which I have never seen before: New Orleans ran 54 plays in Giants’ territory. And how many plays did New York run on the Saints’ side? Zero.

god did you guys start taking crazypills or something

“(though pretending Pennington sucks is a bit of a stretch).”

lolol you used to be hella like “LMBO @ PENNINGTON HE SUX >:O!!!!!!” that is an exact quote. payton for COTY tho, yeah. Mangini should be in the convo (I TOLD YALL THE JETS WOULD BE GOOD) along with Jeff Fisher, tho i sorta wonder why COTY always goes to a guy whose team sucked for the first quarter of the season and then turned it around. how about giving it to someone whose team has been good all along? also who do you guys think should be gettin’ sum awardz:

MVP: LDT & Brees should split it imo

OROY: Marcus McNeill

DROY: I dunno, Demeco Ryans? I haven’t seen any Texans games so I dunno if he is actually any good~

DPOY: Jason Taylor duhrrrr

OPOY: uh god i dunno, peyton manning or something. i think you could mb make a better case for him as MVP than the last couple years, just because his team is suddenly so much worse

my favorite thing about mangini is that he wore breakaway pants on sesame street. i mean, really dude? you couldn’t find some jeans? also i love that everyone decided he was a genius before he even coached a game, i guess he used to hang out with belichick so HE MUST BE A MASTERMIND~~~~~~~~~

aidsy, when I said that I thought the Jets would make the playoffs you asked me if I started taking crazy pills then too. Make up yr mind, son. Wait, maybe that was otto being a nutty Pats dude. I’ll give you a pass on that, only because I can’t search and see which one of you said that. Please note I still laugh my ass off at Pennington, but I don’t think even Michael Irvin would claim dude can only throw ten yards.

6. New Orleans Saints (10–5)

They came into Giants Stadium and offered the game to the home team. “Here, you want it?” They proved it by dropping 10 passes. The Giants said no thank you, it would just confuse our fans. ^^^ this is hilarious

xpost yes which is why I really would like to punch Mangina fans in the nuts, this is what I have been saying. OMG HE MADE A MIDDLING TEAM MIDDLING BUT HE BLEW BELICHICK ONE TIME: BEST EVER. It’s ok though because I got ppl all on my side already :D

Please note I still laugh my ass off at Pennington, but I don’t think even Michael Irvin would claim dude can only throw ten yards.

yeah — that’s joe theismann that says shit like that.

Payton for coach of the year not least because, um, I find him very attractive. shut up.

in theory I admire the Jets and wish them well, but they are so, so boring to watch. I fell asleep during the first quarter of their Monday night game with Miami.

anyone who coaches for Bill B. automatically loses the ability to dress themselves

i flipped the Monday Night game on and it was 0–0 to start the 3rd quarter. DO NOT WATCH

Oh my god that Monday night game would’ve been totally intolerable had I not been drinking heavily while it was on.

i miss having cable tv but hearing about a 0–0 game, between the jests and ‘phins no less, is heartening.

I slept better during that game than I’ve slept in ages! NY Jets=very soothing.

you didn’t think the “drama” about whether cotchery was in the end zone or not was, um, kinda interesting? or what about that poor jets special teams dude that got chumped b/c the ball bounced offa his back and the dolphins recovered?!?

anyway chad loves all y’all:

“It’s my TOES.

“ev’body’s STONED!”
