after i buy furniture when my tax return comes in? i’m gonna need another bed and a couch for a sandboxer. i need to do some work on the deck. today i was looking at couches and stuff on the internet. so expensive! i also brought my old couch out for bulk trash. it was an ikea love seat i got on craigslist for $100. did i mention this house is 888 sq ft?

i’m excited now too. the stuff he won’t fix is not a big deal, the house is super old. i need to think about movers. also i need advice what to plant in the box in front. it’s about 4 square feet and has an awkward rose bush in it and that’s it. i want kind of a rain garden type thing that doesn’t require much weeding.

i am v much in love with the idea of awkward roses come springtime tbh

i stopped by to take a picture of it to show my mom because i asked for gardening advice. there are a couple other awkward plants there that i hadn’t even noticed.

i think i’ll move monday august 26th. i moved some stuff in this weekend. i met my neighbors, some old lesbians. and also someone who lives down the street. she appeared to be a mennonite.

i have to tell you this funny cute story

i like to get mail from the jail and read other people’s mail. it’s like a compulsion i have to read other people’s mail they get. i don’t know what it is. i like the different kinds of handwriting and bizarre ideas and funny grammar. anyway today i got three letters in one envelope. they were all clearly written by the same person but they were signed with spanish names. each one was asking for the same thing in slightly different words, like please help me i want to plead guilty but i have written letters to your office and no one responds. so having gotten no response from the district court office somehow they got my name and had someone write letters to me for them. or it’s possible it’s one of my clients at the jail helping some people who can’t speak english.

i’m here. i can’t assemble my ikea bed it’s too hard.

i gave up on the bed. i just put the mattress on the ground in the middle of the frame. my cat is so skeptical of this house. she hid behind my coffee maker on the counter. i said “oh buddy! it’s ok!”

malm. i had rented a van and they didn’t have the bed i wanted at the store so i got this boring one. pliers didn’t work. i think there are other tools i can use to get them out and i can order new ones. it was just on the headboard so i moved on to other, very difficult and ridiculous steps.

are you sure you messed up? there are youtubes and stuff to help. you probably know that, though. i wish i were there to help you.

not like i’m an ikea savant or anything, i just think i could help.

i recently got sought out by a friend from high school who lives in the suburbs (ellicot city?) who apparently remembers me fondly after all this time, even though as i remember it i was such an anonymous nerd who was only there for 2 years. although i guess what he renembers expressly are the letters i wrote from college, which were allegedly so amusing and entertaining that he would read them multiple times and they always brightened his days. which is obviously some rose-colored memory because i’ve read letters i wrote when i was 18 and oh my god what a dippy, dumb person i was.

anyway, yes, we have multiple people to visit in the area. it will be so fun!

(except that high school guy says he can assemble at a moments notice a group of high school people for a get-together when i’m there, and i’m pretty sure i’m not up for that.)

i was saying i fixed it! i googled and googled and this lady was saying she did the same thing and since wood contracts when heated you just blow a hair dryer at it for a little bit. i had to yank at it hard but they came out and the dowels were still usable. i have a headboard!
