Having been “on the board” now for a few months, I’m really diggin’ the personalities and the peeps—so now, inquiring minds want to know, even more than what we sound like right now, what do we look like? Are we all skinny and pale? Do we have embarrassing bio’s? Is Go1dberg really PEW in disguise? To that end, do y’all have websites or myspace sites?
Post away!
the personalities:

the peeps:

Which one’s Step and which one is Hen?
Are we all skinny and pale? Do we have embarrassing bio’s? Is Go1dberg really PEW in disguise? To that end, do y’all have websites or myspace sites?
Yes, what?, no!, yes.
Embarrassing biographies—sorry, esp. self-penned “trying to look hip and self-deprecating, but really very much egotistical.”
Also, Penguin song is cool!
Thanks! It’s small potatoes compared to the record I’m almost done with, though. I’ll post some stuff pretty soon.
Cool! Def post. I also want to hear Tombot’s music. And Matt He1g3s0n’s. And John Justen’s fabled Archives of Aural Jewels. And anyone else who lurks here! Post your site!
my music is on hold until the interior temperature of our basement apartment over by where the iMac’s mousepad is heats up a bit so I can work without my right hand turning pale blue
it’s kind of the lamest problem I’ve ever had in my whole life
I don’t think M@tt has made his way over here yet, but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me linking to this in his stead:
Ooh, Maps of Norway has a good website. Firstly, it must take some cojones to post your bandsite at ILX, so go Schnee and Matt (via JJ proxy,) secondly—so far, 2 skinny, looking pale guys for 2! Can’t hear Maps on my laptop—argh!
And Tombo7, that IS a lame excuse—no files anywhere we can hear? Where some gloves, Man(WoMan!)
That should read, “wear some gloves.” and then followed by. Man or Woman!
My band’s song “Kavan” is currently featured on NPR’s “Open Mic” podcast, which you can hear here:
http://www.npr.org/templates/topics/topic.php?topicId=1094.
You can also hear my bumbling mumbled introduction to the song. It’ll be up there forever but we’ll only be on the homepage for a few days.
Someone put our album out pleeze thnks bye
We need a site! a page! a photo!
This is the band I’ve been playing the most with lately. Track is old but will be on forthcoming EP.

my lo-res 4track house/techno/whatevs stuff:
similar but with friend on vocals:

my band proper, high tension house, has no recordings/site as yet. it will happen.
all these are beeping slag projects, which right now is just a name, an umbrella, a loose idea. but will eventually, with funds, be a label. as if the world needs another!
Here are some of my fucking sweet hip-hoppy-ish tracks (accurately described as: sweaty)*: Comf0rt Cre4tures.
*maybe I’m the only one who finds this haha-worthy but whatevs: the cryspace page hosting these tracks was originally intended for my coffee-shop-gig-friendly band that fell apart, and when I tried to reappropriate the name for another, completely different style of project (because I like it, the name), of course the OG band started falling back together (in other words, site subject to change)
It’s weird in my house/studio nowadays too, I’ve got a couple MCs I’ve been working with, and also there’s the band (sound is kind of boring spacey hippy stuff salvaged by pretty vocal harmonies), and all the lyrics anybody comes up with end up being about food, aliens, or life/death.
Comfort Creatures is cool! Nice beats too! Who are all your mc’s? And Ettiem, the Teef song is cool—what software did you use?
thanks. no softwared involved. total lofi setup.
“All my MCs” are me, except for the first verse on “State of Emergency”, which is my buddy Steven aka Far Eye.
M@tt, too late, JJ outed you. And apparently Shadowcat is also skinny. And Ettiem. Now we need to figure out who else is skinny. My question is, is skinny some weird indie code that everyone gets? or a mutant power? not that i’m suggesting we’re all indie, or that we’re all skinny—but aside from Step Hen’s lovely donut gorger, everyone is skinny! and many pale!
I made this snippet of a cover of an unreleased Rivers Cuomo song years ago with a crappy Radioshack mic before I knew anything about recording, but I listened to it today and I think it’s one of the better things I’ve ever recorded. Which is kind of a bummer, maybe. At least it’s nice out today.
