I’ve never been to Baltimore (heck, I haven’t been south of the Mason-Dixon line since, like, 2002(!) but the Fred Douglass head and sculpture garden cat and INTERNET! are definitely the first tourist attractions I’ll hit up if I ever do.

my parents want to move to NH because my dad hates paying taxes. i told them to move to WV instead because i was mad at them for always making fun of WV for having poor people while they live near a lot of poor people. also it’s warmer.

I had a dream about America’s Stonehenge one time.

your parents seem like sensible people. but if they move to NH, at some point someone will probably invite them to drink Moxie, and I wouldn’t wish that fate upon my worst enemies. WV doesn’t have any gross regional sodas afaik.

my shopping disasters are rare, jergins... however the last time I went to the dollar store, I knocked 3 Coca-Cola glasses of a ~4 ft. high shelf as I turned a corner. 2 of them bounced (off the tile floor, maybe; off the wings of my guardian angel, most likely) and didn’t break. the other one done got wrecked. I confessed my crime to the stockboys who came running, but they were like, “fuck it, it doesn’t matter.”

when i was a kid my sister made a flag for me to wave when i told a joke so the family would know when to laugh. sometimes i have to use it to get jergins to laugh.

the first time lxy and i ever spoke she called me and said, ‘hi, this is lxy,’ and then we both laughed and laughed so much we couldn’t speak for about ten minutes. i had tears running down my cheeks and lxy probably did too because she is also prone to crying and i could hear jergins going ‘wtf’ in the background which didn’t have any kind of sobering effect at all.

i am having a fresh giggle at the memory.

fwiw I’m more like 5’9-⅝“, according to the foolproof ‘stand against a door with a copy of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell on your head’ method. I’m not sure if I grew an eighth of an inch in the interim or if I just didn’t measure myself accurately in 2012.
