Its hit potential isn’t even on my radar; if anything, I think it has a shot because of the combo of filthy lyrics + frothy beat + cuet rapper/singer, but then again I also thought ppl were going to go for Janelle Monae as a pop star rather than “a respected musician” so I am not a good barometer for these things.

i’m not trying to ‘delegitimize’ her though. i’m just trying to describe her stuff in a way that i feel is accurate. i dont think there’s much hit potential in this song, i have no idea what to think abt her long-term prospects. i do feel like she’d do better in britain than here.
