aww, totally missed that.

Only the creator of the playlist can update that one.

Have changed it to a collaborative playlist, so if you see something I’ve missed...

Thanks. Thanks to whoever added it. I don’t think it was me, unless I did it without knowing. I rearranged the tracks to be in the right order for the album. Hope that sticks.

(Oh right, it tells you who added the tracks. Nevermind.)

Frivolous—Red Tide

I’m slowly working my way through the Tracks spotify playlist and this is my favourite one (that I didn’t nominate myself) so far

otm. I’ve written down the songs that jumped out at me from the playlist and I’ve got a little star next to that one.

I thought this had been nominated.

I think Dancing on My Own and Hang With Me placed in last year’s results, but Call Your Girlfriend would also be eligible this year for being released as a single.

> Real Estate, Fleet Foxes and Ryan Adams already nominated.

I swear I checked for dupes and somehow missed all three (I couldn’t believe these had escaped notice either). And while we’re there, let’s strike Summer Fiction too because that album was released in late 2010 (too bad, my fave of those I nominated). Two of my others were leaked online in ’10 but officially released in ’11. So....

(5/25)

jesus I had actually forgotten how astonishing/fantastic Let England Shake is; I’d been looking at it on all of these lists and thinking very academically about what I liked about it, but I’m playing it right now and essentially I want to cry and dance and headbang and throw things out the window and pledge my soul

That’s one of the few albums from this year that really impressed me. Overall have to say 2011 was a downer for music—the two previous years there were lots of albums and songs that blew me away, this year, I merely like some of them, most which others have nominated. LES one of the few non-debuts that I like better than any of its predecessors.

I hope there’s some good indie stuff I missed. Amongst the mainstream this year, mostly meh.

I was feeling that way for a good chunk of the year but this thread convinced me that I was primarily looking in the wrong places.
