Yes! Oh snap, guess this isn’t a question. The Nightingales came over here a year or two ago for CMJ and a few shows, including some in NY that I put together (trying to drum up excitement for the Acute Records release of the Prefects CD, the punk/post-punk that became the Nightingales. CDs still available, btw.)
They were great fun and promise to be again. On that tour, they had the drummer from Volcano the Bear...now they have the drummer from Pram. Can you beat that?
They grew out of Birmingham’s first punk band, inspiration to Duran Duran...early releases on Cherry Red, one of John Peel’s favorite bands. Spiritual brothers of the Fall and the Mekons, one of the great punk/post-punk/rock bands of our time, still playing and still delivering. Check out the myspace page for more tour details.

Tell all your Cleveland friends to go.
Saw them tuesday at Cake Shop....one of the best live shows I’ve seen in years. Angsty, punky, post-punky, rocking, hawkwinding, jangly, angry, smart, great stuff, great show. Please go to Union Hall tonight or any of the remaining shows in Boston and New Haven.
