I say: no.

You say: Yes but you will change your mindddddd

sophomore slump amirite

2 good singles, tho. and hey, i think they numbered some members of Big Chief in there for a while too. but i remember them playing a tent at reading at their height, and the crowd POURED away once they’d played ‘gay bar’ and ‘danger high voltage’. they were playing their cover of radio gaga too—bless em, they were trying... it was a bit tragic.

jacques lu cont rmx of ‘danger high voltage’ is still so good.

these guys should’ve been on that ‘artists who are SO early 00s only’ or whatever it was called, if they weren’t.

They’ve sold out the Barfly in my area, *weeks* before the gig itself. I have to say I was pretty surprised.

I didn’t realise there was a Big Chief connection, sort of makes sense though.

I initially read this as “ELEPHANT 6” and I think that makes a much, much more interesting question.

Miccio to thread, obviously, but the real question is whether the Electric 6 will absolve you lot.

amen

Electric Six treat music as if it were all a big joke...and that, need I tell you, is what makes them brill-i-ant...

SotOTM

they are hillarious. it’s pretty funny to say “solo” before the solo. plus their shit’s catchy.

I think I have liked every song I have ever heard by this band.

pure absurdist genius...“I was once of a million quid”, the way they pronounce the word “dev-yul”, the unexpected poignancy of “I’m The Bomb”, etc...

also:

One can draw a straight line from Captain Beefheart to Electric Six, hitting Frank Zappa and Butthole Surfers along the way.

With an axe?
