But KT Tunstall to me isn’t even Pop in the KC sense. It’s self-consciously “classy” and unconfrontational—you’re not supposed to hate it, even if you never really listen to it because it has NO hooks or moments of interest.
I think I mean that it represents a set of values and sounds that I find bourgeois and smug. It rejects drama, meaning consciousness. Classy is the worst epithet I can imagine at the moment.
