Post-Syd Floyd is the comparision that makes the most sense to me. “At Giza” wouldn’t feel at all out of place on Meddle.
Dunno what else to recommend along these lines. What Om are doing is kinda unique at the moment, though I’m sure there’ll be followers.
Mammatus? Earthless? Sunn0))) at their least grymm? Black-Boned Angel? Tarantula Hawk, maybe...

Haven’t heard much else like Om, especially like the lyrics which just get better w/ repeated listens. I like the first album better, I think, def search that one. There’s a decent thread on real ilm about them.

I don’t get it. I tried listening to this album, and it did so little for me that I can’t even remember what I disliked. It just drifted right on by. Maybe I should try smoking pot.
Their website says they’re planning gigs in Portland & Seattle on Feb. 2nd & 3rd! Yay!

My GF is a Yoga Teacher. She was working on her resume the other night and i was listening to this record on headphones. I told her I was listening to a band called “Om.” She asked: “Is it Yogic music?” I didn’t know how to answer so ijust let her listen for a bit.
