nitsuh where are u as i believe youre the only other one around here who digs these guys— lets talk about their new album “kopf auf”
i dig these guys but haven’t heard the new album. how is it?
first thots :
not as good, tho perhaps more musically diverse (read: they ape more genrs/artists) as “musik von oben”
still growing on me, gradually
i mean “musik von oben” was my #1 of 2005, this isnt up that high but i definitely like it. theres an interesting german-language review on laut.de which i will now go find
if i really like ‘keine melodien’, will i like the rest of their stuff?
jim: after the first album which had ‘keine melodien’ they got a lot... more unrestrained and joyous i guess you cld say. so i think its hard to say for sure
contd from above:
http://www.laut.de/lautstark/cd-reviews/j/jeans_team/kopf_auf/index.htm
or
haha it begins “is it offensive for a band to make almost every song into an unrestrained series of citations from the history of pop? because that is exactly what jeans team do on their new lp” and goes on to refer to kraftwerk and steve miller band
anyway my faves at first blush: kopf auf, segel dein schiff, lattialla taas
last description for the night, there are definitely more real instruments focus on the new album. which is sometimes really good- “kopf auf”- and sometimes maybe a little too ‘indie’- “das zelt”
I liked their “Baby 3”, does this new album sound the same?
