Nota bene: before any Captain-save-a-liar attacks me this observation is based on me reading his comments on some Loco Dice track that sounds nothing like Villalobos or Luciano and which he says is the kind of sound “Villalobos and Luciano et al[my emphasis] were doing two years ago”.

Problem is people keep calling bands “indie rock” (Decemberists, Modest Mouse, Built To Spill, Death Cab) even though they’re a major label. ALL major label music is big business!
surely “indie” no longer actually means “independent” any more than “alternative” meant “alternative”.
