Sun Kil Moon—Ghosts of the Great Highway

this is one of those albums I’ve meant to buy for years never really got around to it and now love it

Just received the entire LP outputs of The Cardiacs, Monsoon Bassoon, Levitation and Camp Blackfoot in the mail from everything1967. The Chavez box-set also arrived today, but (understandably) it hasn’t been listened to yet.

I haven’t had such a pig-in-shit day of listening since...oh, since EVER. Jeez this stuff is heady. SING TO GOD = DOES NOT DISAPPOINT, and the Monsoon Bassoon are simply gigantic!

I haven’t had such a pig-in-shit day of listening since...oh, since EVER

Same here. I was already ordering a lot of stuff (with more of the way, god willing), and then with Tower closing, I suddenly have all these CDs sitting around that I either haven’t listened to yet or have only partly heard.

I still have the eight I bought on Wednesday barely listened-to as well, they’ll need to be returned to at some point!

The eight being, to recap, bardo pond ‘dilate’, mastodon ‘blood mountain’, six by seven ‘artists cannibals poets thieves’, neurosis ‘a sun that never sets’, einsturzende neubauten ‘tabula rasa’, serena-maneesh ‘s/t’, catherine wheel ‘happy days’, and KMFDM ‘what do you know, deutschland’. Add that to those listed above and I really do have my work cut out!
