I have to admit that I’m pretty proud that I helped brainstorm for it and can take credit for “no homophones.”
The best part about this is that it never would’ve even been made if Thomas Tallis hadn’t thrown a hissy fit over “stuntin’ like my boyfriend.”
btw, if you’re wondering, this is the absolute wrong way to go about this sort of thing
is that an ilxor’s blog?
it’s a bunch of Pitchfork dudes incognito (I can only hope for their sake that they’re so embarrassed by how bad most of the entries on there even compared to their ‘real’ writing that they haven’t put their real names anywhere on it)
haha yeah Ozone is doing this bigger and more subversively than anyone
:( I am not authorized to view that picture.
ctrl-f “wayne” here: http://www.bossip.com/
I guess it means I’m 12 years old but that review is srsly fucking hilarious.
its funnier because its like an ILM pun thread that got published borat style
This is like that bit from The Simpsons where Flanders unwittingly says a bunch of double-entendres (“All of us pull a few boners now and then, go off half-cocked, make asses of ourselves”) only ten times more ridiculous/brilliant.
WOW.
I like that most of the phrases aren’t even that out of place in a rap review, it actually functions as criticism.
xxpost or like a review entirely by this guy:

::cue smoke coming out of ethan’s ears when he sees he’s being compared to Arrested Development::
Holy shit, there’s a reader comments section. This will get interesting.
Ethan’s Dead Prez/Outlawz review is like the only BCP article I’ve ever seen any actual reader comments on, and that was classic.
haha i posted this to the other thread but:
haha i was just informed that ethan’s review was read over the mic at a gay bingo night at one of the local gay clubs
— violent j (jharvel...), December 14th, 2006.
the original is way funnier but there was just no room and i had to make it at least look like a real review rather than a string of gay jokes
— violent j (jharvel...), December 14th, 2006.

even though it’s, you know, a string of gay jokes
— violent j (jharvel...), December 14th, 2006.

i resent the implication that my writing is more than just a string of gay jokes
— and what (an...), December 14th, 2006.
haha what thread is that
oh ok i found it never mind.
i wish the oliver wang part had been kept.
(haha ethan i am such a moron)
ok that review is awesome. waht is other thread though? i don’t see it.
yeah please link.
jess is going to get fired!!
haha vahid it’s not as if i snuck this into the paper without anyone else reading it first
it’s just a shame the annual Queer Issue isn’t in December
i do love how everyone is taking it as straight-up homoeroticism. i was kind of hoping it would generate some hatemail so i could intimate in my reply on the mailpage that ethan himself may be a homosexual so don’t leap to any assumptions about authorial intentions.
