It was down for about 12 hours for me, but it’s back now.
It’s been fucking up for my mum in Spain the last couple of days since I said it was OK when I was chatting to her earlier.

You can’t use a Gmail address for a Youtube account. For no real reason I can think of. So when you log in to your Youtube account and then go to Gmail it tries to sign your non-Gmail account up as a new Google account. Every time. So pointlessly annoying.
Wait, now you can use a Gmail address, you just can never change your email address ever. THE NIGHTMARE CONTINUES, etc.
