starting this largely because i’ve just discovered diana est! coiffed like joanne human league, dances like teena marie, dresses like my italian grandma! total fabulousness all around.

discuss, or what have you
I just have an mp3 of the Tony Carrasco remix of Tenax. Can’t watch youtube at “work” though.
Speaking of Italo, has anybody got a full length file of Albert One’s “Turbo Diesel”? The one I bought off emusic is from a mixed comp...
i think i do, but i’m at work right now
I think that’s the first time I’ve seen someone lip syncing to a completely out of tune vocal. It gives me a weird bit of cognitive dissonance.
here’s her video for “tenax,” btw:
“Come On Closer” is my startup song on Myspace and it rarely fails to cheer me up. I’m considering framing the 12“ reissue on my wall.
i just picked up the 2 cd Confused Disco: a Retrospective of Italian Records but haven’t listented to it yet.

also been listening to the 3 I Love Synthes12“er Dance comps on Blanco Y Negro. Casco’s ”Cybernetic Love“ is killing me

I discovered Funky Family—Funky Is On on the Confused Disco compilation. One of my new favorite italo song. But I got the vinyl, and I just noticed the CD has a lot more songs than my copy. What does the Kirlian Camera song ‘Blue Room (Radio Slave Edit & FX)’ sound like?
Another Confuzed question- what’s the remix CD like? There are some pretty good names doing the remixing...
I never got into the Italo Disco thing. :-( It just doesn’t appeal to me. Maybe I’m missing something.
Listen to ‘Spacerwoman’. If you don’t like that, then I guess you just don’t like Italo-disco.
I found the original Cybernetic Love for 2 dollars at a weird little record “store” run by people who didn’t speak english 1 block from Madison Square Garden.
Confuzed remix CD is a bit spotty, although the Lindstrom Remix is excellent. It’s worth it for the first cd though, and I can’t get enough of the original “Call Me Mr Telephone.” I’m kind of pissed that they didn’t put the vocal version of “Stranger In A Strange Land” though, I don’t think it’s ever been on CD.
the munk edit of “i.c. love affair” is sort of pointless (did it really need one?)
i have just listened to “le louvre” about six times in a row and would keep doing so if i didn’t have class in an hour.
I haven’t heard the edit, but I can’t imagine...the song is absolutely perfect, and one of my first introductions to italo-disco.
anybody have a 12“ of Thanya’s Freedom to sell, please get in touch!
I find it very very strange how I immediately liked all this stuff, and I am TOTALLY not a dance music person.
