Hurray!
i’ve been listening to christmas music all day
i didn’t listen to it today, but i just want to say that the emmylou harris xmas album is one of the best things i’ve heard in awhile. sounds better while driving than while sitting in apartment for some reason. stripped down as far as xmas music goes. beautiful vocal harmonies.
am i allowed to post here? my name isn’t in the board name.
hey, of course!
as long as you observe:
[url]http://www.ilxor.com:8090/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=150&threadid=24[/url

Marques Houston—Favorite Girl
according to the website of kiss fm berlin http://www.kissfm.de/cgi-bin/WebObjects/KissFM.woa/wa/CMSshow/1053946
oddly, for a radio station’s website, it may be NSFW (boobs popup lol when i first looked). ah, europeans.

http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=41&threadid=57107
he makes a compelling argument
new bjorn torske. some of it’s a little easy listening, but a lot of it is great nordic disco, like an icier, less spastic alan braxe.
new apparat single
shackleton blood on my hands (villalobos remix)
neither are very good
Dennis Laundry — Sing My Song (Reach Out Edit)
Lindstrom and Prins Thomas—The Essential Mix
(their new album, reinterpretations, is a total snoozefest)
ripperton RA mix
nice one.
Hot Chip — The Warning
Gui Boratto — Beautiful Life
beautiful song. fuck. this song makes my car woes fade to nothing.
joe cocker (cafe again)
apparat fractales (extended mix)
that gui is like eight and a half minutes long and i never even notice. something about those chords is just the saddest/best thing ever
Kalabrese — Not the Same Shoes (feat. Kate Wax)
good one.
my last.fm is fucking up, not remembering all the songs i play.
this is my profile picture now:
marvin gaye live
coldplay
shins

that gui is like eight and a half minutes long and i never even notice. something about those chords is just the saddest/best thing ever
yes. and i love when it goes all thrummy, thumpy new order.
Jona — Evidence
great track.
on the ilm thread ’5 favorite songs of 07 so far’ lots of people have mentioned Beautiful Life.
that thread has been a goldmine btw. lots of people with good taste mentioning tracks i haven’t heard or even heard of. lots to DL.
there are some dud ballads on that Amerie btw. Wouldn’t be R&B without those, though.
yeah, that Ripperton RA is good. it is NP.
i still can’t get over how amazing Beautiful Life is.
Octet — Euro vs Dollar (Pilooski Edit)
yeah, i like this
Morphine—Super Sexy (haven’t listened to them in years, great for the office)
Sebastien Tellier — La Ritournelle (jack bit remix)
pretty much the best song ever

new ame single
kells
joakim RA podcast
pan pot single
holy hail
cassy
caribou andorra

hey, it’s alright. much more psychedelic pop than dance music. still with the crazy drums. more singing. no Pelican Narrows, or anything like that.
Ripperton RA mix: still good
we need to listen to that one together

i just read the ilm thread for lindstrom’s new record, and wow, everyone’s bonkers over some bullshit. ilxors that i like and whose taste i respect-max, table, tim f, s1ocki-are going nuts (were, i’m late) over a record that’s wanky, too-long, faded at the end of the night and not in the good way but the bad one . i dont know, whatever, we all like what we like and who cares, but i’m usuallyh so in sync with what those guys are listening to
maybe life’s ok right now if this is my big headscratcher
jan jellyneck ‘loop-finding jazz records’
me and lxy are somewhere at the back

thomas fehlmann did not play. but he was there.
toby tobias—the feeling (john daly remix)
Jet—Ellen Allien & Apparat
all those guys that like the lindstrom also gave big ups to the alex moulton and now that i’ve finally heard it i can say WHEW AT LEAST THEY WERE RIGHT ABOUT THAT 1

i feel the same about ENDLESS BOOGIE everyone loves them but i find them ENDLESSLY BORING
all i can say is that ur probably gay for not liking it?
the lindstrom not endless boogie
j/k
i dunno man tbh i dont blame you for not liking the album, part of me thinks its a pretty context-specific kind of thing, like you have to be in the right frame of mind and right place and everything—and maybe thats true for all albums—but this one in particular is ‘riding the line’ hard and its def not an album that im going to listen to at every opportunity.
still think its dope tho.‘wanky’ is sort of a plus in my book!!
do you dislike all of it or just the first track? the next two arent very long/burned out, or at least, not as much as the first track.
fwiw ive probably listened to the other two tracks more than the first one

Happy Summertime Remix featuring Snoop Dogg — R.Kelly
^^^xoxox
i just want to say in case you don’t know or have forgotten
my ipod is completely kickass awesome
Love In Indigo (Extended) — Escort
dress sexy at my funeral
She Bangs The Drums — The Stone Roses

Hamado — Ghislain Poirier
it is too short; i had to listen to it twice

jerry marotta’s drums at the end of “not one of us”!!!! i always thot they were by collins but i guess he only recorded for the 1st two tracks... side A is ok but side B is 4 stone classics in a row.
The Art of Letting Go — Supermayer
(xoxoxoxoxoxoxox)
never changing harmony
All This Love (Original Version) — The Similou
Cry Osaka Cry — Arovane
this one lasts and lasts
Roots Roll Call — Jay-J & Chris Lum

o superman remixen on the other hand...ayyiyiyiyiiii
switch sucks fyi
someone up the street is totally blasting the cure.
either that or robert smith is hanging out at the fire station.

another reason to dislike my co-workers: they all hate reggae. it was morning reggae hours and they were all ‘FCUK NOT URN IT OFF’. dicks.
basic reshape
i’m ready to hear pom pom 32. it’s a double 12“
i dled trojan dancehall and dancehall roots boxes, both recommended. i noticed some of the other 30 odd boxes there have terrible bitrates. i guess thats out the window in the post-o1nk world?

We Listen Everyday — The Go! Team
coupla years ago i listened to shuffle on my ipod all the way through. first song was calexico alone again or, last song was that go! team song.
it took almost exactly a month.
by the end jergins was unable to even come near my ipod for fear he would press the wrong button and fuck up the game. which is lol b/c i am so much more likely to do something clumsy like that.
“music of the unemployed”
They Wanna Know (Whisper edit/refix mix) — Mr Lee G & Ghislain Poirier
jw’s best of the prayer tour, in bits and pieces
49 Percent — Röyksopp
love it and it makes me lol
i think this is super sweet
Singer Mariam Doumbia and her husband, guitarist-vocalist Amadou Bagayoko, have been making music together as Amadou & Mariam since they first met at the Institute for Young Blind People in Bamako, Mali’s capital, more than thirty years ago. Their new single, Sabali, was produced by former Blur and Gorillaz frontman, Damon Albarn.
also, look how darling they are:

tip: don’t have this thread open while listening or it will be jumpy
this one almost crosses the line in a hercules & love affair way, but i love it in a hercules & love affair way:
Milke are inspired by the third French wave of Kitsune artists, electro pop, Stuart Price and The DFA, all mixed in with the pop sensibilities of Eurythmics, The Cure, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder and Prince. Their new single, Love Get Out Of My Way, is out on Friendly’s label, Gulp, home of Joe and Will Ask, and New York scream-pop act, Black Peter Group.
I’d Rather Dance with You — Kings of Convenience
it’s the perfect pop song
there’s a new phoenix track to DL
