if you decide to hoop it up, be prepared to be fouled a great deal
one of the worst things you could do to my older sister would be invite her to iceland in a mumbly voice and then take her to miceland instead.

The other day i saw a lady sitting on her stoop reading a book and i thought of dear lxy. Then i noticed she had a cat on a leash! It was hanging out in the yard. So harbl maybe this cat hiking thing could work!

i did see an amazing shooting star last night—we were driving up the I-5 from LA, the sun had set but the horizon was still bluish, and there was an incredibly bright meteor with a long tail.

we’re going to the place in the picture jaq posted above, which, it turns out, has much historical importance, being that it is the site where iceland’s parliament was founded in 930. the oldest parliament in the world.
also we’re going to geysir, which all geysers are named after. only it’s dormant. but there’s another one nearby that’s active.
and to snæfellsnes, which i’ve been saying over and over since i first heard of it.
and to the blue lagoon. and to reykjavik, of course.
i think i am going to love iceland.

i was there for basically a long weekend in january. because of the basketball, we were only in reykjavik with a trip to the lagoon.
we finished second — lost to some former icelandic national team players in their 40s. i was guarding/guarded by one-time laker pétur guðmundsson, who is 7’2“. it didn’t go well, although he was a super nice guy.
i had a great time, slightly tarnished by drinking too much one night. also i am apparently a good dancer by icelandic standards? probably remembering that part wrong.

A calico cat called Petah started small, bringing in plastic wrappings and packets of gum. Then it escalated to mittens and baby socks. But now she is bringing home sweatpants, warm sweaters and the occasional teddy bear.
this is just being a good girl
