The spectacular exhibition design, consisting of 360,000 plastic fronds, landscaped across the ceiling

http://www.wallpaper.com/interiors/second-nature-exhibition-tokyo/2753

The best thing about the exhibition though is Yoshioka’s design of the space itself. To get visitors into a futuristic mindset, he strung some 360,000 plastic strands from the ceiling, computer programmed to a certain length and low lit, giving the effect of a manmade cloud.

“Vides” (Voids) is a retrospective of empty exhibitions since that of Yves Klein in 1958. In almost a dozen rooms of the National Museum of Modern Art, it assembles in a totally original manner exhibitions that showed absolutely nothing, leaving empty the space for which they were designed.

LOL walk-in cocktail:

...equipped with plastic jumpsuits and encouraged to “breathe responsibly” before stepping into an alcoholic fog for up to 40 minutes – long enough to inhale “a fairly strong drink,”

http://bldgblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/atmospheric-intoxication.html

too bad that cocktail up there is a g&t and not something better. also, one drink over 40 minutes? i want my money back!!

Light 2007

The stars design are hanging lights which diffuse a soft light. Used on their own, they produce luminous reference lights and can be used as side light or as night light. At different heights or in a group, they create a network of constellations which structures the space and gives it a new dimension. One can have the luxury of a night under the stars.
