J O N A (Get Physical Music) is coming

jergins to division

show details 12:05 pm (1 minute ago)

Love this guy, especially ‘Yellowstone’ off of the gpm 4th anniversary label comp. Sunny day like today, that’d be a track to play.

Yeah, gpm website here http://www.physical-music.com/data.pl?artist=51 says:

April 19—Seattle (US), See Sound Lounge

I’m glad I’ve never been to See Sound. This’ll be a great first experience.

Now we just need the rest of the gpm roster to come here.

the map quite minimal:

that map makes the see sound look cool but i dunno

ellen and sascha at chop suey 5/1

let’s go see stars of the lid

also, it says presented by decibel festival, but i thought that wasn’t until like september?

they bring shows all the time. the festival is in september.

i bought a ticket for SOTL. You both must purchase one, too.

I love the current photo here: http://brainwashed.com/sotl/

are they idm?

Genre: Ambient, Post Rock

Stars of the Lid is a duo specializing in drone-based ambient music. They list among their influences minimalist and electronic composers such as Arvo Pärt, Zbigniew Preisner, Gavin Bryars, and Henryk Górecki, as well as Talk Talk (both bands have tracks named “Taphead”), post-rock artists Labradford, and ambient innovator Brian Eno. Their songs are largely beatless soundscapes, composed of droning, effects-treated guitars along with piano, strings, and horns; volume swells and feedback fill the gap of rhythmic instruments, providing dynamic movement within the songs. Their sound has been described as “divine, classical drone without the tedious intrusion of drums or vocals.”

For more information, visit brainwashed.com/sotl and

www.myspace.com/starsofthelid

Genre: Mark, Stooge

Lingbert is an artist who specializes in stating the obvious, asking many questions, and taking things seriously when they are intended as jokes. For this reason, his friends, who are very fond of him, do their best to set him up. Outsiders may perceive this as being mean and malicious, however it is offered in a good-natured spirit, and Lingbert, whimsical and carefree person that he is, seems to take it as such.

(but i do thank you for the link and the explanation)

Genre: L, X, Y

lxy is a person who specializes in assuming that Lingbert takes intended jokes seriously, when in fact, he does not. lxy frequently surprises Lingbert when she doesn’t catch on to his deadpan responses, even after knowing him for like 1.5 years now. An outsider might perceive this as lxy not actually knowing Lingbert all that well despite the extended period of interaction with him. When asked about this, Lingbert will just shake his head slowly and say “Oh, that lxy.”

is the show general admission or reserved?

general admission, first come first serve, “Seating is *FESTIVAL* style, meaning you may be joined by other parties at your table”

i don’t care if i have to share a table with other people because i’ll be so fuckin’ blissin’ out on sotl and those other schmoes will be irrelevant to my plane of existence

i bet this show will sound like a righteous dream if you’re STONED!!

let’s get hell of baked

this is in SF. if they don’t come here we should go:

Friday, April 25 at 10:00 PM (10:00 PM doors)

GET PHYSICAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR featuring BOOKA SHADE / M.A.N.D.Y. / HEIDI

$22.00

are you going to go to sotl, jergins?

are you going to go to sotl, lxy?

we are both going. i just bought tickets. this show is cheaper than i expected it to be

yeah seriously. $15! you guys have been to the triple door before, haven’t you? the site was talking about showing up 2 hours early to get a table and to eat and what not. Do you think it’s really necessary to get there so early?

lxy’s been, i haven’t. clue us in baby

it’s great. when i saw the mountain goats there with my sister, we got there kind of late; almost all of the seats were already filled. but it turned out that we were in a very perfect place for two short girls... really close to the stage, about 15 feet from peter.

i think all seats there are good. it’s fun to eat and drink before the show. feels fancy. so early is okay by me.

i know there are booth seats and then tables up front (it says that they clear those front tables out for dance-able type groups, but i don’t see an sotl show turning into a dance party, so i’m assuming the front tables will be there). you and your sister were in the front seats? how far back are the booth seats? those sound cool, but if they’re too far back, then fuck em.

well we are going to this ^^ so yeaaaaa

http://www.urb.com/permalink/3128/Carl-Craig-to-headline-Decibel-Festival---Seattle.html

Carl Craig, Deadmua5 and Audion (aka Matthew Dear) have been announced as just some of the headliners for Seattle’s annual Decibel Festival. America’s fastest growing techno and experimental electronic festival. URB attended Decibel for the first time last year, and we can highly recommend.

Carl Craig, Deadmau5, Jahcoozi, Burnt Friedman, Audion, Luca Bacchetti, The Bug, Dixon, Barbara Morgenstern, Tujiko Noriko, Jeff Samuel, William Basinski, Bruno Pronsato, Deaf Center, Tycho, Santiago & Bushido, Akira Rabelais, Mike Monday, Eluvium, Library Tapes, Noah Pred, Kilowatts, Jeff Greinke, Derek Plaslaiko, Welder, Alland Byallo, Eskmo, Jacob London, Deru, Lusine, Craig Kuna, Nikola Baytala, Sammy D and Nalepa.
