I’m thinking of starting a public speaking consultancy called ‘Big Diction’

I am going to riot tomorrow because it’s May Day

‘Big Diction’

LOLOOOLLLLOL!!!! you should do it!! bold claims = money makers!

Commiseration, Inc.

For a nominal fee I will sympathize with any plight. I am a very sympathetic person.

i am going to try to go to berghain’s may day lawn party featuring ben klock and marcell detmann

haha i knew i’d jinx it as soon as i posted. so i went, it was outside, next door, and as i walked up there were doormen (though not that doorman) and i had my camera with me and just thought, fuck it, i hate this place anyway. the odd thing was that they were playing a song i knew: junior boys ‘like a child (carl craig remix)’. that place isn’t supposed to play songs i know! so i’ve headed back to kreuzberg where they’ve got orienstrasse blocked off and dozens of soundsystems running. a much better vibe. i’m next to the YAAM soundsystem now, spinnning old dancehall and dub. sounds fucking good. and, you know, so much more welcoming, which is paramount. next to the soundsystem they’ve got a hoop set up and a dude is throwing the ball out to the crowd, trying to get them to make shots. i can’t believe this is a country that produced dirk nowitzki. half the shots are airballs.

fuck berghain. what you’re doing sounds perfect. you should show those people how to shoot some hoop.

grand plan: going to denver or detroit or vancouver to see booka shade (and others) with our friend jmsd. this may work.

check out the detroit electronic music festival: http://www.paxahau.com/movement07.htm

i’ve looked at it, i know. fucking a

tickets to detroit are cheap. and detroit’s cheap. it’d be silly if you went there without me, though. hell i’m even wearing my tigers cap

it would be silly. that festival’s cheap, for sure. weekend pass $41. airfare, not so cheap.

think good thoughts in the direction of gui boratto: come here! come! or vancouver! okay!

grand plan: get drinky/drunky down by the canal and listen to half a lucky 13, then watch L O S T.

good plan! no, GRAND PLAN!! you gonna have a time, mate.

DEVELOPING...

GO GET MY WALLET BACK BECAUSE SOMEONE FOUND IT IN TIERGARTERN AND FOUND AUDR3Y’S PHONE NUMBER IN IT. NO MONEY BUT HEY!

got it! the 20 euros were gone, to be expected. the rest was shuffled around but intact, including the No Children lyrics, my GET OUT REALITY FREE card, and my ‘be the sponge’ reminder. they did take the thousand lire note that DL gave me years ago. worth nothing, gone.

come summer i am going to treat you right.

great news about the wallet, jerg. too bad about the lire though.

DECIBEL FESTIVAL 2007—Dates Announced!

After the wonderful success of last year, we’re proud to announce the 4th edition of the Decibel Festival. The 2007 Decibel Festival will be taking place September 21–23 at various venues in Seattle.

In an effort to broaden our scope outside of the festival, this year’s edition will be condensing dates and events so we can pursue various one-off events and Db artist tours outside of the Northwest. Rest assured, the talent we’ll be procuring for 2007 will be on par, if not exceed past Decibel Festival line-ups. To compensate for the fewer number of venues and artists, Decibel will also be lowering 2007 festival passes by 50% this year.

Stay tuned to this site for line up announcements, ticket info, various Decibel events and the forthcoming “Db Org site” that will feature pictures, video and audio archives from past Decibel events.

To move to a loft in Pioneer Square that is diagonally across 1st Ave S from Elliott Bay Books in September. YES THAT IS MY GRAND PLAN!!!

WOLFGANG FLUR

I don’t think
I’ve ever been more excited about a booking in my life. I’ve been told that
Wolfgang is banging it out these days with a heavy dose of techno, electro
and vintage Kraftwerk footage, which is really what I would expect to hear
from the guy that is credited with creating Kraftwerk’s drum sequencer on
which were constructed rhythms for “Numbers”, “Trans-Europe Express”,
“Autobahn” and pretty much every other ground breaking hit during
Kraftwerk’s hay day (1973 to 1987). Bound to be interesting.

To celebrate our most successful year to date Decibel will be closing out the year with two nights of underground dance and electronica from some of our favorite artists, including several highlights from the 2008 festival. Both nights will be taking place at Neumos (main dance venue for the Decibel Festival) which will once again be outfitted with the finest in state of the art sound, video and lighting. In the spirit of the festival, we’re billing this two evening event as “Micro dB” and offering a combo ticket price of $30 for both events (see ticket info below). It’s been a remarkable year and we hope you’ll come join us as we close it out in style.

As the weather starts to warm-up here in Seattle and your looking for something to do on your lazy Sunday evenings, stop by the Moe Bar and have a few drinks as I spin summertime disco rarities along side many ‘feel-good’ classics to help wind your weekend down. I will be playing everything from ‘cocktail’ and cosmic disco gems to 70’s soft-rock favorites. Of course I will be playing many of the more laid-back and funky cuts that are featured on this blog. Therefore, if your into the music you find on here, I highly recommend you spending Sunday evening this summer at the Moe Bar!
