Major League Baseball today announced its master 2014 regular season schedule, which will begin with the historic 2014 Opening Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, March 22nd and Sunday, March 23rd.

i’m guessing scully won’t make the trip, but i hope f. does

: ) we discussed this a few months ago when we heard about it and the upshot was that because it’s in sydney it will probably cost about half an airfare to dodger stadium to get to so we won’t be going.

f. was very surprised and happy. it was an amazing series. i really felt for the blue jays and their fans. it was so close and could have gone either way in many split seconds. and for several reasons a canada win would have been satisfying.

most people we know on this side of the world who follow baseball are japanese dodgers fans and they are all very happy and their enjoyment is enjoyable.
