hey baby what’s up
estela

hey estela now you can post on your own thread and confirm/deny the assumptions made
if i had to guess which ones are true
refers to people who live west of the A1 as degenerates
abridges famous books in her spare time
believes DG is the ‘chosen mod’ and that ilx won’t be good again until he retakes his rightful place
talks to her dog as if this is the time it might answer
rewrote australia’s national anthem to be a song about herself
a close reader of ilx will note that she has already admitted to two of the above, one of which max picked out
sometimes i ask my dog what being a dog is like and if he enjoys it, that’s about it though.
does your dog answer?
not in so many words.
http://www.time.com/time/2002/inventions/tra_bow.html
Japanese toymaker Takara claims it can get you in touch with your inner canine through its new Bowlingual. A radio microphone attaches to Fido’s collar, and a handheld receiver “translates” his yelps, growls and whines into such phrases as “I can’t stand it,” “How boring” and “I’m lonely.”
“baths are a pointless disruption”

estela, is this:
i met estela and she is fab and beautiful and elegant and just about everything you would imagine her to be an accurate description of you
well it seems awfully generous but i have been accused of being self-deprecating so how can i measure these things.
based on posts i have read from you, and about you, i imagine you to be pale and tall and funny and clever and implacable.
ruby was a lot like i expected her to be except maybe a little bit quieter, she doesn’t speak in caps and !!!!!, she is very pretty and has a lovely speaking voice and laugh and is funny and smart, i very liked her.
lingy, can i post a picture of your mii for estela?
lxy nope.
estela i can’t think of any of my posts that might indicate what my height is. and thank you for the speculative compliments.
i thought jergins once said you were tall, but maybe i was mistaken and he said nothing of the sort. anyway, that became part of my very sketchy picture of you, though i didn’t like you any more or less for it, in fact i didn’t really think about it at all.
sometimes i have dreams about ilx people and if i don’t know what they look like i don’t see their faces: sometimes they are blurred out, or the person has their back to me, or is talking to me from another room, my dream never supplies a face for them.
if i had to guess, i would say you are somewhere in the 5’5 range (that’s 5 feet, 5 inches, though i don’t know how many meters that is) in height; have brown hair; don’t wear glasses regularly; are shy, but overcome this very easily; are witty. probably even more than that too!
i am 5’5’ and i have dark brown hair and i don’t wear glasses and i am shy but only in some respects, so that is some pretty good guessing.

if we’re on the asl tip i need to say that i’m five foot eleven of all man with deep green eyes as wide and profound as the ocean
E, i have a Q:
did you stop drinking because
A. i don’t like this stuff or how it makes me feel
B. i like this stuff too much and too much like how it feels
also, if i ever met u i would have to call you estela, not whatever your real name is. ok?
my eyes are as flat and grey as a photocopied irs letterhead.
my stopping drinking was a mixture of a & b, at first i liked this stuff too much and how it made me feel but by the end i didn’t like how it made me feel which was sick and remorseful and horribly anxious nearly all the time, and not ever drunk no matter how much i drank. that was all a long time ago though and i have adjusted to never drinking ever, and i think everyone should carry on without me, i’m not one for spoiling the party.
i would <3 it if we met and you called me estela, i would always call you jergins. i called ruby ruby the other day, it was nice, i like all our ilx names.
at first i was going to write ‘we can carry on without you, not to worry’ but there’s no reason we can’t carry on with you. if you can put up with a bunch of drunks on itr and here it wouldn’t be much different in any other context :)
i call lingbert lingbert pretty much always. it’s hard to remember his real name sometimes. i’m still not sure i pronounce his last name correctly.
he doesn’t pronounce it correctly. we’ve only been friends for about 2 years though.
also i wish i could always guess as well as i did about estela
gime me time
is it a tricky name, or are you being lazy.
gime me time
where have you been?
where have you been?
i have been right here wondering where you have been.
hey estela do you sometimes get annoyed when you make funny posts and people fall over themselves saying things like “this thread is now perfect because of estela” and other super-hyperbolic things? im sure its really complimentary and a lot of the time theyre saying things that im thinking but frankly i think the strength of your wit is its dry subtlety and a lot of unsubtle internet posters drawing attention to your jokes sometimes ruins them for me. let me know your thoughts thanks max.
lol u jealous
only of u lingbert
i seldom get annoyed about anything on ilx, max, i am mainly in it for the nonsense. i do hold back a bit from lolling and praising other people’s posts for the exact reasons you give though. for example you probably make me lol a lot more than you realise and i think you are a top notch poster, but i don’t know that i’ve ever spelled that out.
nabiso otm
hey! hi! welcomje!
it always astonishes me when a new person finds his way here. what chain of events led to this? has said person been lurking and finally found something comment-worthy, or is this a first visit? will the visitor remain, or is it a one-off post? so many questions.
haha welcomje! the dutch in me comes out when i’m drunk.
I couldn’t figure out how to log in, that’s all.
I came back here two weeks ago looking for the kegger thread.
now that’s good style
always astonishes me
may have been overstated. it’s not like it’s happened a billion times, or even ten times
thank you estela thats a very sweet thing to say
i would say that you are obviously one of my all-time favorites if it didn’t seem gauche to return such a touching compliment with something so broad and non-specific
i <3 both estela and max

i love you lxy, these are all very great, like you.
also i think pleasant plains should come back to this board again.
aww estela! hearts, flowers
what kind of music do you like?
estela do you use any kind of instant messenger? if so, let’s chat. i’m feeling garrulous.
i would like that, but i have never imed in my life so i don’t have it set up.
go to http://www.meebo.com/ and sign up. just give them fake info, and you can be chatting in under a minute. you don’t even have to verify your account via email. i just created an account on meebo, and it took less than a minute, no exaggeration. do it!
i have to run out now for about an hour, i can do it when i get back if it’s not too late for you, let me know.
i’ll probably be in bed by then, but i’ll post here if i do go to bed before you get back.
okay, sorry, i have to walk my dog and go to the store and it keeps getting later and later.
i picked out my hike, and now i’m going to bed. oh well.
i am here again but i still have to do stuff, so goodnight! i’ll go ahead and sign up so that next time i’m ready to go.
jergins, i never answered your music question, is it from before the break? i will get on to it, though it is a bit of a difficult question for me, i think i have never given a satisfactory answer to this in my life.
you should read the 3rd policeman, i think its very funny
i dreamt you came to seattle to settle outstanding back tax issues from batman II
a goth accountant, who would have thought
later i went to a restaraunt and in a mix of french and english explained bacon to a gathering
was i wearing black lipstick and carrying a calculator, because if so it was definitely just a dream.
hi estela i hope you are doing fine
i might be interested in knowing where estela has been
she’s away but i’m sure she is thinking about us while she’s gone, just as we are thinking about her
that sounds like something a mom would say to her child when the dad has been sent to prison or is off on vacation with his mistress.
lingy, i’m not your daddy.
i went to nz for a few days to see someone who is very ill, partly from cancer and partly from chemotherapy. i did think about you all while i was gone<3, and i thank you for thinking about me.
sorry to hear about your friend, e
yeah, best wishes
thinking of you, <3
thank you<3
You were missed, estela. Welcome Back!
i’ll be here all week.
hello estela! i also missed you!
where will you be next week?
perth comedy underground, no wifi :(
hi tehresa!
next week i’ll be here all week as well.
what a run! and at the peak of holiday entertainment season!
i hope you got a good box office split.
haha that’s cute
this morning f. was walking our dog and he saw this mean neighbour of ours and her terrible little angry dog and the dog was jumping up at f. and she said, ‘it’s because you’re eating a banana, he loves bananas, can he have a bit,’ so f. broke a piece off and the dog scarfed it down and then the neighbour lady suddenly lunged at the banana and dug her fingers right into it to get more for her dog. f. was taken aback, he threw the rest of it in the trash.
― estela, Sunday, 16 November 2008 07:48 (1 month ago)
so this is where you’ve been talking about me behind my back, estela!!!
oh shit
!!!!!!????!!!!/&@
it’s either ruby (i hope so) or the banana gouger from up the street.
have you heard tap tap tapping in the night? noticed an unusual amount of grime on the keyboard when you wake? odd smudges on the monitor?
has your little pet been casting side-long glances at you?
looks like the doggie typing lessons paid off!
or it could be ruby.
!! maybe it is my little dog and he spelt smooch operator wrong.
but it’s probably ruby, and if so, where is she? she should be posting.
why, hello there
there is no suggestban here, it feels like utopia
dear estela’s doggie and/or ruby
probably it feels like utopia because it is the color of jaffas
yes i did notice that. also: now i know where you guys have been hiding all this time, and i feel like i have been excluded from a secret club. if i am estela’s dog i am putting my tail between my legs and hiding under the table.
it’s like lost. you don’t find the island, it finds you.
dear ruby, i thought you knew about this board, i was sure you were a poster here before i ever was, i was sad you had stopped posting here, i realise now i was wrong on all counts.
dear lxy, the board truly is the colour of jaffas, i thought that as soon as i saw it.
i will now record small stories sent to estela by txt
when i was in kindergarten i pretended to learn french. my parents still don’t know that i was just copying my sister.
when i was in 1st grade i started talking like a “hick” boy i liked, saying things like “i reckon” and “i ain’t” and “VE-hicle.” my parents disapproved.
a mean boy made fun of the girls who tried out for the 2nd grade solo, so the teacher made him sing I Love You Truly in front of the whole class. still lolling.
my 3rd grade teacher shamed me for spelling alaska wrong on a test, because my family was moving there at the end of the school year. “you of all people!”
in 4th grade i did a report on new zealand featuring a papier mache kiwi.
in 5th grade music class we learned to play the tonette, sort of a clarinet-organ amalgam. there was also a girl in my class named Tonette.
my 6th grade reading group recorded a play with a character named Phoebe. they got mad at me when we learned it wasn’t pronounced “fobe.” i was good a phonics.
7th grade was a nightmare. boys on the bus spit on the windows and talked about wet dreams. i tried to pretend like i didn’t exist.
i was in love with my 8th grade history teacher. he drove a baby blue opel.
tried to convince my mom i could ride my bike 5 miles to the busstop so i wouldn’t have to change schools. but no i had to go to the yucky school for 9th grade.
10: dated mike for 2 weeks. saw him once during that time, at a church xmas party. he gave me a janky bottle of oldlady perfume. broke up with him over the phone.
got a mad crush on a guy who was into Devo; traded my AC/DC 8 track for Elvis Costello. tried to see The Knack but it was sold out. saw The Cars instead.
12th grade is when i learned to lie, to my teachers, to my parents, to my sister. it served me well in college.
freshman: a-plus party girl, c-minus student. learned to drink and screw but not much else. fell for a gay boy, the first of many. discovered i love to dance.
estela told me she got an iphone and has had it for weeks. f. keeps bugging her about getting it set up but she won’t because she doesn’t want to change out her simcard for fear of losing “lxy’s life history in txt.”
i told her i had recorded them on our board and could send to her in email, so she’s going to switch out phones before she goes to sydney.
that man is a saint, he’s got to be!
hahaa
a) i had the worst time figuring out how to get this embedded. turns out you don’t have to do anything lol.
b) i forgot this thread is on l&j oopsie.
2x lol
oh where are you now
pussy willow that smiled on this leaf
i am in earl’s court in london but we only arrived last night so have not seen much of it yet apart from walking around the neighborhood.
I had a book that compiled a selection of those flann o’brien letters it was v funny even tho i was only small. It was the first book i ever stole i didnt think anyone else using the school library would love it like i did
i expect that book was just about worth all the trouble, but not by miles or anything
The book was called “miles of myles” fyi
During the late 1960s a large transient population of Australia and New Zealand travellers began to use Earls Court as a UK hub and over time it gained the name ‘Kangaroo Valley’
the last time i was in dublin my flight arrived super early in the am so i spent the bulk of the morning wandering around trinity college and watching some weird pre-graduation(?) ceremony until i could check-in to my hotel.
how is your francais functioning??
pas mal (most of the time) but i definitely speak better than i comprends because people talk so very quickly. my ear has started to adjust though, i picked up more of what was being said to me today than i did yesterday.
we are in nice until tomorrow, it is very lovely. today we drove to monaco and menton and we popped into italy for a quick visit.
i dreamt we were in paris together. obviously wishful dreaming.
sandbox fap
needs to happen
we seem to be doing it one at a time which is not a proper way to fap, people
i meant it’s wonderful but still
i would meet y’all in paris
Would find that rather more difficult to explain tbph
“je vais à un match de PSG avec les gars.”
lol, i thought of that exact same excuse.
not for me but for a rogue with a brogue.
tbph: dubious application in above context
i have seen several women here who remind me of lxy and my heart lifts at the sight of them but a pleasing sight is a pretty poor substitute for the real thing imo.
for one thing i am certain they don’t laugh as well as i do.
this would all be fixed if i just lived there.
on the champs elxysees?
i’d feel outraged if i thought for a second that ‘rogue’ wasn’t just a handy rhyme tbh
rogue mahone
it is snowing in paris and these chocolates are delicious.
<3
^
i never got a full verdict on the toffee crisp iirc
the toffee crisp was also delicious, iirc i ate it in bed at 6am on the third day of my jetlag which seemed liked suitable toffee crisp behaviour.
i’m at the paris airport, on my way back to australia, i’ll see you all on the other side<3<3<3
where is estela? she hasn’t posted in aaaaaages.
COME BACK, ESTELA <3
Yeah, estela! We miss you (and your little dog, too!!)!!
i love this silly floating girl: http://yowayowacamera.com/
Major League Baseball today announced its master 2014 regular season schedule, which will begin with the historic 2014 Opening Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, March 22nd and Sunday, March 23rd.
I bet they go!
i’m guessing scully won’t make the trip, but i hope f. does
: ) we discussed this a few months ago when we heard about it and the upshot was that because it’s in sydney it will probably cost about half an airfare to dodger stadium to get to so we won’t be going.
happy dodgers victory to you and F <3
cheers mookie<3
f. was very surprised and happy. it was an amazing series. i really felt for the blue jays and their fans. it was so close and could have gone either way in many split seconds. and for several reasons a canada win would have been satisfying.
most people we know on this side of the world who follow baseball are japanese dodgers fans and they are all very happy and their enjoyment is enjoyable.
for several reasons a canada win would have been satisfying
indeed
