jergins how much do you do mp3s and how much do you do vinyl?

all mp3 at this point. the records stay at home. i’ve got an easy setup and very little gear and it sounds fine at home or at parties. i think i’d notice the sound quality on a bigger system. you?

i do 95% vinyl and 5% cds. but i’m starting to get the kind of work where my vinyl collection alone wont cut it.

do you use traktor?

he does

i do! traktor on an old laptop with 2 gigs of ram, the dj indigo soundcard, and a usb controller for crossfades and EQs and syncs and so on. it’s a tight little package, everyting’s very compact. the controller though is cheap plastic and will break one of these days.

have you messed around with traktor much? it’s fun and easy. i’d like to get my hands on final scratch sometime, just to play with.
