my cat just shreiks and cries the whole way on car rides, it doesn’t stop, just terrible for everyone in the car. don’t know what i’ll do if i ever have to move somewhere more than 20 minutes away, poor girl’s the most nervous kitty i’ve ever known.

Anyway, when we moved from NC to Chicago, I drove the car with the three cats in the back seat, each in their own carrier. We had downers to give them for the ride, but we lost them so they had to take the trip unmedicated. It was like if the Flaming Lips did the boom box experiment but with tapes at various states of decay of cats meowing Jingle Bells. And you were on mescaline.

yeah...and you’re not allowed to use sedatives on cats if you fly with them, with the idea that if something goes wrong, you aren’t in a position to do anything about it. my cat has had to fly twice in his life, and he was horrified even before we finally arrived at the airport. poor baby.

Awwww. My cat pats my face like that all the time, no claws. The one you’ve got to watch out for is the stretch-n-claw, when she’s all comfy on your lap and stretches out and contentedly digs those claws right into your leg.

I woke up and thought I had a dream last night where my cat wouldn’t stop poking at my face, and later realized it probably wasn’t a dream. When he does this, his claws are out just enough for me not to be able to ignore the claw but not enough to puncture anything. Sigh.
