because it is an uppercase and a lowercase city
lxy didn’t like the moore theater installation/intervention. i liked that we were able to explore a space, enter and exit a building in different ways, find corners and odd spots. but the spots could’ve been odder. it seemed thrown together at the last minute? wacky for wackinesses sake? if you’re going to rent that theater you need to focus on ghosts and transformations (new>old>new>old>newin2009) and the sense that every corner is overrun by the last thing you’d expect there. not silliness for its own sake but a reminder of what it was and a wistful hope and also an inbetween. the backrooms themselves were kinda the best canvas, and it ends up with watermelons and monitors and a bar? make it a haunted house in june, summer ghosts exhuming themselves.
the bridge motel, the last thing (reference: http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=62&threadid=83 ) was better. there you knew ‘this is the last thing that will ever happen in this sordid smelly room. wow.’ it gave the acts more permanence a story you could add on top, embellish, picture how it played out before.
at the moore it seemed like they didn’t take advantage of the space, the physical area around them.
i liked when people walked out above the stage and i had to make a snap judgment on booing them.
I agree! Also still pondering the program, which lists 32(?) sites within the theater but I felt like there were *maybe* 10? And yes, less random ‘I am doing performance art’ moments and more exploitation of the space/environment, plz. But yes, also, it was neat to have access at least.
hey is it a billion degrees in seattle right now no i didn’t think so stfu

it’s true, i didn’t like the moore thing. what a waste of a good idea and a wonderful venue. granted, the thing at the bridge motel was top notch A+++ so it’s not really fair comparing. but still, the moore thing would have been on the disappointment end no matter what.
at the same time, i was very happy to spend some time with tehersa, et al, even if it wasn’t for very long. (sorry for bailing early, t.)
also, that building posted right up there is super hot.
What is the bill and Melinda gates foundation building going up east of Seattle Center? Is it a building to house the foundation or is it a foundation-sponsored project? I could not tell. If it is for the foundation, they should give me a job because I live close.
it will house the foundation. get a job there!
(except the building might not be ready as soon as you might want a job)
unless, you know, you’re looking for a construction job in which case
Could be good way to get fit?
hey t u wanna come drink whiskey w me 2morrow
Sure, I <3 whiskey!
<# we’ll make a plan yay!
was thinking the three of us should hang out when i get back. drink on the porch. after the second
I would like that very much. In addition to whiskey I am also quite fond of porches.
And good peoples.
lady we got it ALL!
so you like to watch dudes smoke up while they tap their feet to disco right.
uh
Is that a trick question or
what
no trick just treats babay
(note to estela: that almost came out ‘truck question’)
truck question: am i glad or sad to be behind this vehicle?

I am baffled. Truck questions are tricky.
all i have are inappropriate jokes
anyone who likes vintage automobiles should come to my neighborhood today, the whole main drag is filled with beauties
The qwest tech said there is a rockathon that is a marathon where bands play every mile. Hmm.
what’s more annoying than running? having to run past wanker bands every few minutes.
(or in my case, having to stroll past a wanker band or two over the course of a coupla hours, till i hail a yellow cab to take me home so i can smoke in peace.)
There was also mention of business men in pirate costumes scaring children?
oh jesus. ya, seafair pirates. they’re a seattle thing. a terrible, terrible seattle thing.
jergins will probably defend them.
rip
no
sorry
sok, i’m superstitious abt shit like that so.
thx for understanding
The Seafair Pirates are goodwill ambassadors for the city of Seattle, and have traveled across the United States and Canada, as well as to Grand Cayman, Mazatlán, Kobe, and Taiwan. Each year they also travel to the Cayman Islands for Pirate Week. In 2007, Sports Illustrated was shooting its Swimsuit Issue for 2008 and the pirates appeared in full uniform with model Melissa Haro
harro
hihi
the pirates lecherous as hell and grab women off the street at parades and grab boobs, kiss. they also scare kids (that are easily scared). they harken back to the old less appropriate more gold miner/skid row Seattle that i love but am glad is gone. they though, they can stay.
DE-FENSE

! wow what a city I live in now !
i like miners

It was late and it smelled like fried fish and I missed my stop bc it was dark and I couldn’t read signs lol and got off at Mercer but I made it home in under and hour anyway and I think the hill walking was good for working off the booze :)
right, so in summary BUSSUX!
(i shoulda recommended you tell the driver what stop you wanted cuz yeah, it’s hard to see along there. mercer’s probably better lit anyway, so.)
do you guys know the bar solo?
i was thinking of going solo (he, he) tonight based on reviews that make it seem more chill than other neighborhood bars (ie maybe less scary?).
basically i need to go do things by myself so i can follow through on my plan to meet new people etc
<3 solo, yeah, perfect
their website says monday is movie night and they are showing twin peaks which is otm bc last night i watched ep 1 again!
but maybe it’s out of date, the site.
tell me about going to bars by yourself and if it makes you any friends
i never make friends at the library because it’s all homeless people and teenagers lol
ok but if it doesn’t work it might be my fault because there is a high likelihood that i will go and read a book and not talk to anyone.
^ this is me, iirc we talked about this on howard st. in baltimore, md
the last time i went to a bar alone i took a book, and a couple “adopted” me because of it so....
yeah a friend once told me if i took a book to bars it would make guys hit on me but i think that is kinda crepey but then again this friend was also kinda crepey so
tehres did you go to the bar?
i got scandalously drunk at solo a couple weeks ago
do u talk 2 ladiez while in such a state?
I am posting from inside the bar. There are 6 other people here: the bartender, her friend, and 2 couples sitting in the corners.
yaya it was with coworkers so we talk. i e ven grabbed one boob of coworkerbut it was cuz she implored me xpost

Loved it! And my friend was still raving about it as she left for the airport :D
mariners vs. the hated orioles
1:40 pm pdt start
did u get tix?
orioles are so bad and hated
little known fact: my little known grandfather once did spring training with the hated orioles.
my favorite team is montreal expos. after they died i don’t like baseball anymore
they didnt die they just had a sex change and became the nationals
oh blah blah
i liked the braves until the strike killed baseball for me.
braves may be my least favorite team? the chop is so disgusting
oh yeah it is horrible but i lived close to atlanta so it was a local thing to like the braves.
oh yeah i forgot. it was a thing to like the yankees where i am from :((((((
ew gross
