Cool, that is awesome! How did you explain it?
x-post
Kate> check if you got the Marmoset album. I know i did it before you had your long weekend , so it’s possible that you forgot to play/download it.
LUCK or MAGIC: i just mumbled something oh my friend had it and then she moved house and she lost it in the move and she only found it recently i just got it back last night mumble mumble, but then it popped up on the screen and it was already at £00.00!
also they swapped my old-skool hackney libraries card for a new one which has PICTURES OF BICYCLES on it (you could choose some squiggly things or a mural or er actually i don’t know, i saw the bicycles and i was lost) and also a thing you attach to your KEYRING so if you forget your library card you can still take stuff out.
I am not done listening to the last 3 bazillion albums you just sent me, Kerr! It takes me ages to listen to music. If I like it, I have to listen to it several times to digest it, get my head around it, absorb it, try to understand it, listen to it in several moods, to see if my reaction to it changes.
Unless of course, it’s jazz, in which case I scream so loud I irritate my collegues and rip it off in under 2 minutes.
x-post whoa, they have great stuff in the Hackey libraries. Then again, I haven’t actually taken anything out of my local library for ages, since I got a proper job.
(Also, I can never tell if these new threads are parodies or not. That is irritating, when you think someone has started a new topic, and next thing you know there are 20 posts taking the piss out of you. Why are people so... ornery?)
Hmmm. So we tried to search for a Hungarian market yesterday but it was closed. Typical.
I mistakenly read that as “tried to search for a Hawkwind market” but I might just have a one track mind.
That suit does appear to be designed to blend in with your bedroom mural, Kate...
I think money should be extracted from the Texan anyway, and given to the libraries, but I am quite hardcore about things like that.
Holy crap, I didn’t notice that. I mean, I knew it looked like something I would wear. But it does match my mural. That’s it, we are FATED by colourblindness and love of swhirlies to be together.
Aww, don’t extract money from the Texan. She is totally work permit-less until she gets married, and therefore totally skint.
Today appears to be lazy observational comedy parody day or something.
I love it, as it is insane.
iLiKETRAiNS should dress like this, obviously:

I am upset because my mother had forgotten it was Shrove Tuesday, and there are no pancakes, nor any eggs to make them with.
That’s pretty much how they used to dress! They were magnificent.
Argh, stupid people at work. This woman... she sent a spreadsheet of people to add to the HR system obviously without checking it, as she had never heard of one of the people she told me to add when I asked her about it. THEN I discovered that she had deleted the ENTIRE Finance Department from the HR System.
Now she’s asking me for the “spreadsheet she sent” despite the fact that she sent me the same spreadsheet FIVE TIMES.
Today appears to be lazy observational comedy parody day or something.
I really like it, because the forces of Shit ILX are having no effect, and in some cases are making things more interesting instead of less. Who knew that the secret was “ask more questions”?
EMSK!!! Can you still get a video projector thing?
Night of the Long Swords need one for our gig.
(Though actually it would be pretty darn cool if we could use it, and project like, the masquerade scenes from Amadeus behind us as we played or something.)
I am having a no-pancakes sulk now
gah i don’t think so. e doesn’t work there any more. the artmusicpolitic people have one that we were gonna borrow for stuff in our house but i dunno how to get hold of them while j is out of the country.
Bah, oh well.
Hmm, pancakes.
And I’m never going to get a reply on how to do print screen from a Mac DVD player, am I? Sigh. it’s probably just as well... wait! What would happen if I put the DVD in the work ‘puter?
I’ll have to try this some weekend when I’m working and no one is around.
FP > That’s what 24 hour garages and asda/tesco are for!
The answer is VLC, which doesn’t seem to work on our computer, and you won’t let me ‘fix’ it.
Maybe you can do some screengrabs for me on YOUR ‘puter and I can take them away on mine data stick. Huh?
Anyway, I am bored of work and I want pancakes. Get heatin’ up that skillet. I’ve got an oilcan of Vermont Maple Syrup!
VLC works great!
Do they have Windows DLL (for windows media codecs, etc) wrapper support working on the Intel OS X version?
ed what time is pancakes (oo-woo-oo-woo) i will bring beyond black! if i can find it. going to look NOW.
I was in the middle of reading Beyond Black when I got dumped a few months back, and now when I’m not single I daren’t start reading it again.
Everyone is probably in the middle of eating pancakes ....apart from FP.
:-(
Cheer up FP, think of all the things you can do with syrup later...
Have pancakes some other time. A pancake is not just for pancake day, you know.
(saying that, I am going to make pancakes in about ten minutes for my supper because I was otherwise engaged earlier)
Morning! I am having pancakes with Herself tonight, and pancakes with The Parents on Thursday night. Hurrah!
Oh, hurrah, just what I wanted!
God, pancakes are num. I want to eat them every day now. Especially with maple syrup and whipped cream. (Not so sure about explosive orange brandy.)
And I’ve got Funkadelic stuck in my head. I wonder why.
You sure it’s not the Flapjack band?
I am still searching for interweb proof of the Flapjammer.
Good morning e’erbody.
Morning, Gooblar, how are your energy levels today?
Lowish. Minor headache for no reason. Second coffee coming. You?
Oy vey, don’t mention coffee, I’ve given it up for Lent!
Alright! My mum lives in an Episcopalian hotspot!

(Well, if you can call medium green colour “hot”.)
That’s quite hot enough a colour for Episcopalians.
Proper Anglicans would never wear that bright a colour green! Even on Trinity Sunday, it would be a nice, tasteful hunting green.
First rehearsal tonight for J1m Cl3m3nts and the R1ght to D1e.
Last year’s crush, bor-ING!
LOL
My friend Catty used to have this recurring fantasy/story/website about where all my crushboys went after the crushes died. Like, somewhere there’s this support group for boys formerly crushed on by Kate. And they all get together and compare stories and try to warn each other “Hi, my name’s Alex James and I was once Kate’s Crush” and then Little Jay Ferguson would arrive and would swear “No, no, she loves me, she loves me forEVER!!!” and they would all warn him “No, no, she is fickle, it will not last!” and he would be all “A Canadian does not make lov, a Canadian IS love!”
Aaaah, good times...
Anyway, honestly, I’m going to get offline and do some work today, I swear to god.
Kate > Do you like 5ive?
5ive? As in the Medicine song (yes, very much indeed) or the 90s boyband? (They had that one really good song, actually)?
keep on moving
Yeah, that would be the one. The video was quite good, too.
HEY! I’m supposed to be working. I am in the maths groove.
I’m sure I put some 5ive on those dvdrs.
After reading that short biog I looked up expecting to see Ned’s name there for some reason...
So, the brother was in town yesterday on a flying visit, and told me that the comedy club he helps run, Full Mooners, is doing a gig in Glasgow on Patricks Night. So now I have to figure out if I can get to Glasgow for reasonable money for Patricks weekend so I can have some comedy stylings.
Do you have any brothers that don’t do comedy? Or is this a different brother to the one that I met?
Also, isn’t flying from Dublin to Glasgow for St. Patricks Day a bit... backwards?
I am having green tea, oh god, methadone of the caffeine world. I keep thinking that one of these days I will pick up a taste for green tea, but I never really do. It is not coffee. It’s hard to get into the maths trance without coffee. I hate lent already.
Full Mooners!
In a hotel, had Lemon/Ginger tea just sos Dawn’d have another normal tea for the morning. That’s a bit nice, LemGing tea!
(Should I feel bad that every one of my stupid comments is being emailed to Andrew?)
No, that’s half the fun, mwah hah hah!
LemonGinger tea has no caffeine. I need to keep a drip. Hence the green tea methadone, which has less tea than either coffee or black tea.
I am going to go home and eat my last avocado of lent. :-(
Ha ha, I have created a double of the vastly successful “How Am I Driving” report called “How Am I Banking” whose name created much mirth around the office due to its potential for misuse.
Oh dear, we are such geeks.
Emsk! Are you working today? Can you drop off a CD in Stoke Newington on your way home if you are on bike?
Just realised why S’s CD went missing—she gave me TOTALLY the wrong post code.
Hi.
KILL KILL KILL my entire family needs their heads knocking together.
Ha ha ha, my predecessor is in today, having to deal with the Oracle system. I had to go over to laugh at him.
Why, what are your family doing now, Suzy?
Do you have any brothers that don’t do comedy? Or is this a different brother to the one that I met?
This is the same one you met. He was on a flying visit to Dublin yesterday and the day before.
Also, isn’t flying from Dublin to Glasgow for St. Patricks Day a bit... backwards?
’Tis the beauty of the thing. Ever since they Americanized Patrick’s Day, well everyone just goes out and gets really drunk. In the old days everyone just stayed home and looked at the rain.
Ah, the pointy-nosed scruffy haired hott brother. Wait, I am not perving over your brother, just making an observation. Otherwise I’m going to turn into Dog Latin. Or was it Sick Mouthy that used to perve over DL’s sister? I can no longer remember my ILX memes.
I just got asked for the Oracle passwords, ha ha, it’s kinda pathetic that I’m really the only person that knows them. What if I was hit by a bus?
Hey, my brother’s got a lot of love to give, ladies.
(No, seriously, he’s a hound.)
It does seem daft that only one person in your office has those passwords.
I miss Dog Latin :(
Everyone else has either quit or been sacked! And no one has noticed!
Most things the Sys Admin can just hack into. But not the old Oracle system. Mwah hah hah hah. They actually had to dig out my old workstation out of storage to get back into it—I only recognised it because of the curry stains on the front.
x-post me, too.
Okay, so, I’m supposed to go to the theater tonight with my mother, but I can’t stop coughing. I don’t want to spend the evening in the theater coughing, but I also don’t want to let my mother down. And if I drive into town to pick up the tickets, then I’m in town and I might as well go to the theater, no? No, because I will cough all the time.
I don’t know what is the best thing to do.
go to the theatre and suck on something.
Yes, suck on boiled sweets—especially riccola.
Wait, does “hound” mean like “dog” as in unattractive or “dog” as in slut?
If he’s a slut, that means he might not be very choosy which means I might stand a chance at getting laid and... no wait, STOP that thought right there. La la la la la. Oracle programming, green tea, funky dollar bill, la la la la.
Pimp Yer Sibling: the new thing on ILX.
Bah, I have no siblings to pimp!
Wait, does “hound” mean like “dog” as in unattractive or “dog” as in slut
I mean, to use my mother’s terminology, that he would get up on the crack of dawn. However, he likes ladies who are prepared to run around after him, sit by his hospital bed, and listen to his endless stories about how great all his comedian pals are, so I would advise against him.
Boiled sweets no good. It is a chesty, inhalery kind of a cough. Like spasms. I guess I’ll just see how I feel when I get there and if I’m coughing too much I’ll just leave.
My brother is now married off to an heiress so no pimping for me, either. Dammit, brother, why can’t you pimp ME off to one of your rich buddies? Oh wait, they’re all Republican CUNTS. never mind.
No, I don’t like high maintainance boys who have to be too looked after. That’s no good. I think I just need to get laid, not actually have to run around paying attention to someone, bah.
Ah, is it the coughing fit, can’t stop kind of a cough? I’ve had those all week and the only thing to do about them is leave the room and gasp for air and maybe drink some cold water. Yuck.
(saying that, I am going to make pancakes in about ten minutes for my supper because I was otherwise engaged earlier)
I too had pancakes for supper!
Kerr, some of teh Glasgow folks are meeting for a wee pint tomorrow night —> Shall We Try Glasgow Some More?
around 7pm. You should FAP.
Bored now. I hate having to actually focus on things. Ah, now I don’t have to.

finished...deadline....must drink champagne....
Pancakes, anyone? Fresh ones because I am a sinner.
Suzy you will be about and around when I’m there, yes?
Ned, we must make this potluck happen.
