Nooo, no more pancakes. Not for another year.

OK, I am finally out of the maths trance and I have sorted out that stupid bloody HowAmIWanking report. Bah. Now how can I goof off for the rest of the day?

Thanks gerry, but I’m skint and i’ve not even got enough money to go see Trans Am.

btw I forgot to mention on monday that my dad got his car back. Never heard anymore from police or insurance company about the lorry driver. So Looks like he got away with it.

Did your dad pursue it himself with the police?

No.

He didn’t want the hassle and the strain of having to do that, esp as they had said there was no cameras there.

Ned, we must make this potluck happen.

Oh hell yes. Your place (I assume), the 8th. How many people can we get in there?

Well, you can’t be too surprised/disappointed that they never caught them then. Also, there are plenty of other place they could have seen them and I thought you said it was your dad who thought there were no cameras based on the police not saying anything rather than confirming the lack of cameras and...oh, half a dozen of us have told you all this already.

Accentmonkey—how long will you be in Glasgow, if you come over? Would be nice to meet up since we all arsed it up so badly the last time.

Hundreds, as long as we all stand up and breathe in.

Seriously, 10–15 I guess.

There’s Hina and myself, BLAM and his wife might want in...plan away with that in mind! There’s the thread on here and when real ILX is back we can kick up that one some more.

So are we still here today? It says nuILX is ready, but it’s not opening for me.

(Ed, I need some Zermatt advice.)

Yes, it would. I don’t know yet, but mostly likely Friday till Sunday, with for definite being at Full Mooners on Saturday night, except that I don’t know where it’s on.

I did go to the theatre last night and didn’t cough too much. I did almost punch the people next to me, though, who didn’t really get Mamet dialogue and whispered theories to each other about what was going on all through the second act. Stupid people. Of course I suppose (she said snobbily) that that’s the risk you run when you go to see plays that have TV people in them.

Zermatt Advice:

To get there get the train from the airport (both geneva and zurich have stations in the airport). You can get what is known as a Swiss Transfer ticket from http://www.sbb.ch/ which is cheaper than an ordinary ticket which covers you from the airport/border to your final destination. If you fly with Swiss they can check your luggage through to the railway station at the end of the journey.

You can buy passes in advance on-line, but it costs a little extra for the reusable rfid card, see http://www.zermatt.ch/

For good apres ski, get to the Hennu Stall on the last run between Furi and the main town.

In the evening Paperlapub and the sneewitchen seem to be pretty reliable.

Ack! Not that kind of advice (although it’s appreciated, of course).

Any thoughts on which end/part of town to stay in? Last time I was there was five or six years ago, and I’m finding it difficult to differentiate Zermatt memories from Val d’Isere ones (I remember the caipirinhas quite clearly, but after that all is a blur :).

My colleague has intimated that he may not be around much longer, and that I might want to lock in some vacation sooner, because it may be difficult to get time off later.

It’s -20 out today and somehow skiing is just not exciting me much, but I can’t find anything else particularly interesting or reasonably priced for mid-March. :(

There are lots of nice chalets around Hauptstrasse which is well placed for the Bubble to Kleine Matterhorn and Riffleberg and good for the town as well.

I am cross with my detractors on the board. Should I shrug it off and say “so what? they’re only having a laugh, innit?” I am confused as to the correct course of action.

Just ignore them.

This is a sign, clearly.
