Don’t you mean a ghost head....

RIP Bear, eldery (16 years old, give or take) and infirm half-chow/half-lab who is being taken by my brother to be euthanized this afternoon. His hips and bones and everything else are going, he has been reduced primarily to begging for pieces of chicken and then going to crap outside. Hopefully it’s more humane this way, I can’t believe he’s happy.

that was a couple of years ago, before he went downhill

I’m so sorry, milo. He’s a really handsome dude. He looks really cute and happy there.

My sympathies, milo.

my birthday cake!

Look, my birthday cake had Pirates on it.

That Sov photo is one of the technically best photos I’ve seen in any of these threads. Kudos.

Yikes, yeah, that is brilliant.

I present: “The Scariest Van In All of Tennessee”

I (l) Texas Holdem really finishes that off perfectly.

wow

I don’t like how he’s accusing me of a crime I didn’t commit. What a cocksucker.

(do you know him?)

I love how his shadow looks like a shadow of a Muppet, yelling in his ear.

I know him very well, and I asked him to pose like that. The backdrop is a mural created by having a lot of people sit along a bench and trace the silhouettes cast by a light that was far off low and to the left of the picture. The corrugations on the surface add to the distortions to the silhouettes .

The idea was to ape this:

LOL Awesome. Is he a longshoreman or similar?

What are all those photos about Ed? There’s fires, there’s you in a florescent outfit with a ladle, there’s a sign that says ‘there’s only 4 tents left’—it looks fun!

It’s the charity I volunteer for. We take kids camping, throughout the year but mainly in the summer, and teach them about woodcraft. I spend a weekend a month up at our stores centre fixing things, we keep the costs down by continually repairing equipment. I was extending the life of a tent made for the Army in 1944 this weekend.

Technically maybe not a great picture, but I love it nonetheless. There’s so much punctum in this pic for me. The couple is my parents, who live (permanently) in Japan.

It’s a great photo.

oh crap now i’m crying cause i’m looing at that pic. bah.

i’ve started captioning some of my flickr photos with people’s comments on ILX. it’s no Pirosmani ’04 fiesta but it’ll do for now.

looing? eh, i’m not scatological (yet).

First attempt at high f-stop-in-daylight long exposure shenanigans:

Aperture experiment

Very nice!

Of course it helps that the 159 does actually touch 300mph as it passes through Piccadilly Circus.

lol@traffic in london moving

I like louche phone guy on the other side of the street

He was a little less casual after his face had been ripped off by the afterdraught.

Thanks Ed!

And that’s a really nice photo nathalie—your parents look cool!

BRITONS WANTS YOU’

Why did nobody sub this?

The image of Lord Kitchener replaces the words Lord Kitchener.

so it ‘Britons, Lord Kitchener wants YOU’

Craig Finn, London Borderline, February 17th 2006, looking exasperated

Craig Finn sweats a lot. Lovely guy, tho.

Pimping my Matt, but this is my favourite photo of Bonfire Night ever:
