I can see the latter for the 12th time (so this is Xmas, etc) or the former for the first time. My friend says “Heaven” is a rather grueling experience.

He’s right.

It would def. depend on my mood, but I don’t think I will ever feel the need to watch Battle in Heaven again.

I’ll only rewatch TSATC if there’s outtakes of Margaret Sullavan going down on Jimmy.

Haha well then I think you’ve made your CHOICE.

TCM shows Shop almost every month, and Battle in Heaven is maybe the year’s second-best mindfuck after Laura Dern’s wanderings. What did you do?

I watched both. BIH was a real grind; the anomie seemed chic rather than felt. Whoever played the girl’s boyfriend is really hot.

Most recent example of “felt anomie”?

There aren’t many, although Hou’s Cafe Lumiere was moderately convincing. Having a passing acquaintance with this film’s milieu I didn’t believe the chauffeur and his wife’s detachment (posing them like David Lynch dwarfs didn’t help either)

I think I would prefer a mash-up of ‘Shop’ remake “You’ve Got Mail,” but with edited-in sequences of hot-Spanish-dreadlocks-lady blowing a gnarled weenis every 5 or 10 minutes.
