My friends in Australia are always sending us nice pressies via UK websites and I don’t really know where to start with Australian websites.
they pretty much suck, really. i use dstore.com.au in a pinch.
wow no amazon.co.au?
no, no amazon.
stores on ebay.com.au is pretty much the only place that would have a range of stuff, but you probably wouldn’t want to send gifts via ebay. you might find something if you want to buy a very niche gift, but if you’re talking general dvds/books/clothing etc, you might be better off with amazon.com/.co.uk and just paying shipping to australia (not a huge amount unless you are shipping something massive)
oh also wishlist.com.au is ok for goofy shit like gift certificates for adventure activities.
id just go to dymocks.com.au and buy them books.
oh yeah, http://www.jbhifionline.com.au can hook you up with dvds/music/games for cheap i guess
It’s where I bought my Kingswood Country DVD boxset
wow no amazon.co.au
Jon we’re not THAT britishes ;P com.au dorkface (altho I willassume you did that on purpose ;P)
www.wishlist.com.au is a ripoff. Don’t bother.
www.coolgifts.com.au isnt too bad, for random odd things.
If you want gamez, try www.dvdcrave.com.au—they have all kinds of imported DS stuff and great fast shipping.
Again for nerdy gadgety PC things, www.mrgadget.com.au is really great and i know the guy who runs it, so can recommend highly.
I didn’t think JB Hifi did online ordering? Huh. Must check that out.
For more on DVDs/CDs also try www.ezydvd.com.au
FOr books, no idea. Dymocks as above... don’t think Borders have an AU website which is redonkulous, there’s Borders stores all over!
what an interesting thread. it’s just occurred to me i’ve almost never ordered anything from an australian webstore
What about that kitchen one you told me about! Whose name I’ve now forgotten haven’t I?
Oh and of course the ABC Shop has an online thing!
‘What about that kitchen one you told me about!’
Now that sounds interesting—anyone?
Aren’t there any foodie ones?
theres also the nice stuff at www.petersofkensington.com.au/
I would never order anything from an Australian on-line store because it is uniformly crap and I’d rather go into a JB Hi-Fi store anyway to piss off the ex-prisioners they have at the entrance.
Obviously that doesn’t help if you’re in the UK but that’s just my two quid on the issue.
peters of kensington is indeed the one i have used. very good.
Peters of Kensington looks nice—I really thought I’d be overwhelmed with suggestions. Australians obviously still go out shopping—how quaint!
Nah we just order stuff online from overseas, cause its cheaper (and available at all)
This looks interesting...
