WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota was undergoing brain surgery early Thursday at George Washington University Hospital after suffering stroke-like symptoms, two Democratic sources familiar with his condition told CNN.
Admiral John Eisold, Attending Physician of the United States Capitol said, “Subsequent to his admission to George Washington University Hospital yesterday, Senator Tim Johnson was found to have had an intracerebral bleed caused by a congenital arteriovenous malformation. He underwent successful surgery to evacuate the blood and stabilize the malformation. The Senator is recovering without complication in the critical care unit at George Washington University Hospital. It is premature to determine whether further surgery will be required or to assess any long term prognosis.”

So no one saw fit to question Strom Thurmond’s competency for the last year or so when he was a demented old bat, but the second Johnson goes into surgery it’s panic mode?
While everyone around him, including the Republican leadership, lied about his ability to put together a thought that was more cogent than, “Ngah, pudding,” Thurmond himself was merely an empty vessel shitting out his innards into a nauseatingly full diaper. That didn’t matter to the GOP, clinging to a seat that would have to be re-upholstered every week because of the acidic urine stains.
