Okay, the man without whom has this to say:
Advent!
At 2.22pm this afternoon my wife Isabel gave birth to an 8 lb 4 oz boy!
Mother and son are both doing fine and should be home tomorrow. Isabel had a nightmare labour though (lots of discomfort and then a far-too-rushed induction) so she may be in a fair bit of discomfort for the next few weeks. (She’s also too groggy to think about the baby name until tomorrow!) However, we’re both delighted and I am incredibly proud of her.
:-) Post felicitations here, there, everywhere!
Hurrah, hurrah, congratulations!!!!
OK, boo hiss to nightmare labour, but still.
Hurrah for Ewing Jr!!!!
(can we call him J.R. Ewing for now?)
congratulations!

Ned, you are like Perez Hilton.
*wrestles with idea of whether this is a compliment or not*
I think this is excellent news!

WE NEED PICS!
OMG YAY!
Was J.R. Ewing born ready bearded?
Congratulations
Hooray!
I suggest Tharg. That’s a good name for a boy.
Yay! Hurray!
Congrats Tom, wonderful news, hope Isabel and the sprog are well.
Yes, congrats!
hip hip hooray, on this magical birthing day! way to go Tom and Isabel.
congratulations, that’s fantastic! and I hope Isabel makes a speedy recovery.
8lb 4oz is quite big for a first child, isn’t it? I think that’s about what I was and they thought I was going to be twins. So I should add extra good thoughts for Isabel.
yay! congratulations!
Congratulations Tom & Isabel! We’ll be wetting (saturating?) the baby’s head in Glasgow tonight.
Yay to you guys! Hugz all round!
I vote for Anakin.
“8lb 4oz is quite big for a first child, isn’t it? ”
I think so, but not really *over the top*. Ophelia was about that weight. I was 4 kilos 500 grams! My grandfather? FIVE KILOS. WTF!
They didn’t have kilos when I was born.
Many, many congratulations to the Ewings! All these wonderful ILX offspring—at this rate, we’re going to need an “I Love Babies” board :)
My friend, who is about 5ft two and very slender of frame gave birth to a 10lb baby. It took 24 hours and ended in an emergency c-section. You’d think they could have done it a bit sooner, wouldn’t you?
congratulations tom and family!
Surely named after Louisa Lytton aka Ruby Allen off ‘Stenders?
He’ll be a good dancer, then!
...and have no chin!
Strachey was my first reaction. Good middle name, too.
Tom’s first responsibilities as an ILX parent are: buy a digital camera, get a Pro Flickr account.
roffle at Carsmile, that was my first thought
congratulationstrigger!
This is fantastic news. Many congrats Tom and Isabel!
Matt DC’s name suggestion made me laugh. I was thinking more along the lines of ‘Pet Shop Boys First Twenty Singles Ewing’.
Lytton is a rocking good name though.
Fantastic, well done!
Congratulations to you both. Lytton is a geat name.
