Ah yes, it’s this one. If I remember correctly it’s quite good, the scene where Scrooge sees his own grave genuinely scared me as a kid.

I saw a trailer for this (http://imdb.com/title/tt0454082/) in the cinema last week. It has the tagline “this holiday season, the SLAY ride begins”. It looks like the worst film ever made.

Actually I think the best SNL Xmas skits were the Tonto Tarzan & Frankenstein Xmas carols (JOY. TO. WORLD.). Also I think the funniest thing Horatio Sanz has done or ever will do was the “Christmas Time Is Here” song, but not because of him so much as that dance Tracy Morgan does in the background.

ELF is one of my favorite movies from the last five years, holiday season or no.
i think this was the one i loved best a a kid:
it had some plot involving candy canes that made kids able to float/ fly.
just realized that’s actually a comic book tie-in. whatevs.
I’m a huge fan of Elf too, the chewing gum scene is great. My Christmas suggestion would be Friday After Next, the 3rd installment of the Friday series. From memory it’s got one of those awesome chase-around-the-living-room-smashing-stuff-up scenes.
i’ve got quite the soft spot for christmas in connecticut, a pretty slight yet somehow delightful old early ’40s thing with barbara stanwyck. it’s so forgettable that you can watch it every year and be completely surprised at what happens.
rudolph is by far the best of those old rankin-bass specials. remember that really insane one where it’s the 4th of july and rudolph and frosty are at a circus trying to solve a mystery or something? it was so convoluted i can’t imagine any adult ever making sense of it let alone a kid.
