Always too dormy, or possibly tasteful and cool?

Not always dormy. If you live in a 250 sq ft Manhattan apartment and beneath your bed is the only place you have room for a refrigerator and a bathroom sink, then it’s fine.

pretty big otm there

Mine is classic, if only because it’s the only way I can get an enormous king sized bed into my room.

Aaargh I have one of these just now, out of absolute necessity and I can’t wait to move into my new house and into a proper bed.

dud because when you’re knackered the last thing you want is to climb anywhere????

I have a shelf attached for books, light etc, but it’s really awkward for bottles of juice, and the cable for my modem doesn’t stretch making laptopping in bed impossible.

It squeaks something awful, and the novelty of climbing up and down a ladder wore off within the first week.

When I had the problems with my hips I had to sleep on the couch which made them even worse.

Breakfast in bed is too much of a challenge to be worth it.

Sex in bed makes me sea-sick (but means we are more adventurous).

Getting up in the middle of the night steaming drunk to vom is like being on the Krypton Factor.

I can’t see the tv very well from up on high.

Changing the sheets is a struggle.

So, all in all, DUD

DUD for above reasons, plus some others. It’s more of a pain climbing down when morning-knackered than up when night-knackered. But that’s just me...

Yeh, when I got up for a drink of water last night I thought about how I wouldn’t want to have to climb down and back up.

What got me thinking about this was a lovely display in Ikea, and seeing just how much floor space it would open up. Maybe a semi-loft with a couch underneath....
