erik kramer, please to return ; (

No, unfortunately that didn’t happen as far as I know. But Reilly said he hopes to one day be waited on by Rex Grossman at an Olive Garden, and that Grossman was to Chicago what “scallions were to Taco Bell”, a statement of which I have NO IDEA what it means.

i don’t read mariotti. i still read the boston papers more than i do the chicago ones. the globe sports page is better on an off day than the best of the tribune and sun times combined.

it might be wrong of me as a bears fan, but i was hoping the bears would win the SB but grossman would be awful. because one of those great grossman games would have resulted in some contract extension and no one else being brought in to qb.

mariotti is the worst.

Poisonous scallions involved in taco bell e coli scare.

FOUND IT

This morning, Taco Bell Corp. announced it was voluntarily removing green onions from its restaurants nationwide after preliminary tests by the firm indicated the possible presence of E. coli O157:H7 in samples of the product.

Garcia going to Chicago would be awesome and would prove my theory that it is the island of misfit QB’s

^^that’s Bobby Douglass

grossman ruined the perfectly respectable nachos bellgrande that was the bears offense

Lovie’s seven layer deep zone was genius tho.

Greatest stats by a QB ever (1972)

| Name CMP ATT PCT YARD Y/A TD IN | RSH YARD TD

Bobby Douglass | 75 198 37.9 1246 6.3 9 12 | 141 968 8

I had forgotten about the e-coli thing but still my point was more along the lines of what gear just said.

i really was hoping lovie and the bros would raep the stupid legacy of ditka and the ’85ers. hi, chicago isn’t all about mustaches and fattey meatheads. (not that the nu-bears are any different i guess?). obv i loved the 85ers but i hear about them every single year. ; (

You guys got to move on, we don’t just spend our days talking about Parcells and Simms in NY!

hi, chicago isn’t all about mustaches and fattey meatheads.

i just re-grew america’s ugliest moustache.

i mean shit at least jordan-era bulls were worthy of legend status. yeah, i know! i think ditka’s non-committal to choose a side during the nfc championship buildup would help close the door, but prob not.

i should mention that my dad has a mustache and looks like mike holmgren.

I love Lovie Smith. he’s too good for Grossman and the rest of those assholes. but I am sorry for your pain, gear. you’re a better Chicagoan than I.

SCHOTTSY COME BACK TO CLEVELAND STOP ALL IS FORGIVEN STOP CANNOT HOLD OUT MUCH LONGER STOP BRING KOSAR STOP

lawrence kansas, you are the funniest!

not that the nu-bears are any different i guess?

this is what I think is so weird! maybe one year the Bears should try a flashy offense and a good quarterback? just as an experiment?

Ally’s right tho, it is time to move on.

when was the last time the Bears had a very good QB? I simply don’t know

oh right Steve Fuller

erik kramer had a fluke awesome year when wannstedt decided to air it out (the halcyon days of curtis conway + jeff graham!) but they only went 9–7 and their D blew.

i think EK had 29 tds and 10 ints. pretty good. the big problem other than D was that their RB was salaam. and their coach was wannstedt.

harbaugh was a good qb. not while he was with the bears but eventually.

oh yeah, I used to looooooove Harbaugh.

when he was with the colts he was the poor man’s aikman (for at least one season).

Tiki to be news correspondent and NFL analyst for the Today show shockah!

YOU GOTTA FEEL IT

i’m enjoying hearing the names of these departed dudes i had forgotten all abt even tho it hasn’t been that long: harbaugh, salaam, wannstedt—turnover in the nfl is karazie!

curtis enis agrees with you.

You guys got to move on, we don’t just spend our days talking about Parcells and Simms in NY!

true re giants fans. jets fans, OTOH, STILL obsess about weeb ewbank & joe namath ;__;

OTM to whomever upthread recommended that the bears get jeff garcia (esp. since the eagles don’t seem willing to let mcnabb go) — that was one of the things i kept thinking about during the SB, “what if the bears had a REAL QB, like garcia?!?”

OTOH, STILL obsess about weeb ewbank & joe namath ;__;

that should be, “jets fans STILL obsess about weeb ewbank and joe namath ;__; ”

raymont harris would like to see jeff garcia at qb for the bears

lollllllll @ garcia being an upgrade over grossman. i mean, he is, but not by a lot. anyway i bet GB wins the division next year.

if gb wins the division i will ship you a chicago style pizza in dry-ice.

NO ship it someone who can appreciate it!

Id est, me.

where are you going to get a chicago syle pizza in LA? don’t they eat alfalfa sprouts and mashed yeast?

i make my own from scratch! i made a pair of super bowl sunday. if i’m lazy i could just do this:

http://www.tastesofchicago.com/category/1

well, I’m suitably impressed!

Lou Malnati’s is my favorite Chicago-style.

ok i should’ve just said “they’ll get a wildcard next year”, but they COULD win the division. the defense came on real strong at the end of the year and they have a ton of young talent. and brettfavreishavingfun

i like giordano’s pizza but lou malnati’s is pretty dope. i think mine is better than any of it but that’s because it’s my mom’s recipe.

where is your god now

;_;

Ok this is irrationally cracking me up

SNOWBOUND!

ILNFL is now my only link to the outside world. Will cabin fever finally get me to admit that Schottenheimer is not the answer to the Browns? Will I turn to cannibalism and eat my Bernie Kosar fathead? I dunno.

shut up, you do not have a Bernie Kosar fathead.

i hate deep dish pizza and giordano’s. not just giordano’s pizza either, all the locations, the people that work there, everything. i really do not like them.

edwardo’s on north ave. in oak park is AMAZING. i got a pizza from bella’s on chicago sunday and i think i still have heartburn from it.

but yeah, i think the bears are going to go after a free agent qb (garcia, bledsoe, anyone) and draft someone for the future. rex could be a decent #2 or maybe he just needs more seasoning or something. oh, speaking of seasoning ore-ida extra crispy seasoned tater tots are the fucking bomb.

i think we can agree deep dish pizza is more appetizing than liverwurst or something, amirite

u guys have heard that eli pays for it, right?

I have to work myself out of a pizza-anticipation mindstate to enjoy deep-dish. I think it is more lasagnesque. but that is still delicious!

I love how Chicago food is as fatty fat fat as possible.

um, football. I want a fathead, but my sister won’t let me get one and also the only Bills player that has one is Willis McGahee; there are no “legend” fatheads for any of the early 90s players why does the NFL hate Buffalo so much? :(

uh...

yes I know it is a tiny market and unlucrative.

ok that whole series of links starting with the Eli one down to the absolutely unsurprising “Rex Grossman: Hungover during super bowl” one is great.

horseshoe, you have to take a stand on the fathead. It is the only way this country can get moving forward again.

“Jason left us with these helpful hints: one of his former clients is a famous New York area quarterback with a brother who may have been in the Superbowl recently.”

couldn’t this also be tim hasslebeck?

poor elisabeth!

“famous”

oh, shit, i should’ve scrolled down to the comments first.

touche. xpost.

oh god the roffles are too much now

yes I know it is a tiny market and unlucrative.

i was thinking more of the 1m superbowl losses in a row

^^^^^^ funniest thing in the world btw

yah—who did that 1?

ok so wait

http://schefterblogz.blogspot.com/

what is that weird football spin graphic? who did that, that didn’t seem to be there last I looked!!

ahahahahahahahahahahaha

i did it—the old football crapped out :(

xxp

lolz

xp

i would enjoy to see 1 w/o the human heads in lap if possible

awesum!

if there was a reche bighead i would totally buy that. even without having a place to put it.

or i’d cut off the bighead’s big head and put it on my front door.

I’d put it halfway behind my couch.

creeeepy

I’d put it halfway behind my couch.

KILROY

KILROY

KILROY

that photoshop is otm

i was thinking more of the 1m superbowl losses in a row

you are on THIN ICE, buddy! also, not to be all Boomer Esiason, but Dan Marino has a “legend” fathead!

omg halfway behind the couch would be AMAZING!!!

^^ my last several dreams, in photoshopped form

hawt

Not with COME TO RECHE right there!

I wonder if I can get a NYG Arrington jersey for butt-ass cheap now

“My dream has always been to be on the ‘Today Show,’ ” Barber said.

whoa, really?

katiecouricfathead.jpg

“We were in full pads for 17 weeks” is absolutely goddamned insane if it’s true. i’ve never heard of a football team doing that.

I know! That is like the point that even Parcells would’ve been like, we have gone too far.

wow. do you think that’s true, about the full pads and maybe contributing to Giants’ injuries (because that seemed to be what Barber was implying at one point)? on the one hand it seems like one of those classic player-coach differences where a player might exaggerate, so I want to take it with a grain of salt, but on the other, Coughlin.

It’d be funny if only Barber had to wear full pads all the time.

god, WHY hasn’t he been fired?

I’m to the point where I’m just assuming he must give great head or something because fuck if I know.

THANKS FOR THAT IMAGE, ALLYZAY, I HAVE TO GOUGE OUT MY EYES NOW!!!

or, my brain, I guess.

That occurred to me the second I hit ‘submit,’ actually...

they’re tanking the season to make a run at cowher next year. it’s all i can think of.
