1: a photo of dolly parton i kept from a magazine, inside a clipframe; I can’t find the photo online, but it’s her in the ’70s, I guess, w/a headscarf. I never liked frames, & still don’t like real frames, & it got pretty beat up being schlepped from one house to another, but it’s taken on this great creased look around the edges that sorta suits it/Dolly’s mystique
2: this image, which was the cover of an anthology film archives programme once when I lived nearby & was a member, in a clipframe also
3: a receipt for some aluminum foil I bought just before thanksgiving at C-TOWN in Astoria, near my best friend’s place; her name begins with C, & I’d never been there before, & it was funny turning onto her road & seeing a huge C-TOWN sign. it is blu-tacked to my wall.
4: a postcard of abstraction blue by georgia o’keefe, propped up against the mantelpiece

this is a great thread!, & will work well w/sandboxer tastes, as they are good at interiors iirc. i will bump it sometime in the future because i generally do not bother with decorating but am in the process of getting a bunch of stuff I always wanted for my walls. my elusive number one target is this film poster, but idk if I’m ever gonna find it. also the photorealistic vince vaughn painting raised in the ruffalo thread, prob also not gonna happen anytime soon

I’m really lazy about putting stuff up. I only have 3 things on my bedroom wall and they’re all maps. 2 new york and 1 paris.
the paris one is from 1910ish I think? I figured out the date but forgot it. found it at a book fair there.
this is a piece of the map, can’t find the whole image. it’s early 80s. it’s an actual gigantic framed station map that I found discarded and dirty on the street. I lugged it home (it’s like 100 pounds) 15 blocks while my gf shook her head and thought about relationship exit-strategies.
then I have a small cheap reproduction of a hagstrom’s map of new york subways and elevated lines. I can’t find it online but it’s dual contracts era. dayo gave me a hk subway map but I am really lazy and haven’t put it up.

Most of my wall space has been taken up with shelving units as the place is tiny, for some reason we have garden-type lights on the few remaining walls, and my landlord is a bit of a weird person so I haven’t wanted to communicate with him to ask if we can make areas to hang stuff, so currently I have *nothing at all* on my walls. I do very much know what I want to put up when we move, though, so...

3. An old fucked-up oak desk drawer holding a picture of a young sailor taken in 1937 in Hawaii, and a sewing kit complete with brittle old thread dating from the 1910s.
4. The turk’s head knot as used by divers to rest their diving helmets on when not in water, done by my good friend when he was on acid.
5. Four photos improperly exposed so that two exposures appear on half of each piece of paper, from some family’s 1950s era trip to Turkey. Plus an old horse-shoe.

Mostly sexist vintage advertising, my favourite is the cigarette one which promises ‘Blow in her face and she’ll follow you everywhere.’
Collages made from the three Modest Mouse setlists I’ve snagged—made the first one because it was first time I went to Chicago/Madison and I was excite (has map of Madison as background, iHop sugar packet, Marlboros) but then made Toronto & Kingston versions because got engaged at Kingston show—I actually put in the temp fake diamond ring that I wore while I waited for my custom ring.

Shepherd Fairey poster from the 06 X / Rollins Band show at the Warfield. One of my favorite posters. We have quite a few framed rock posters in the living area.
Hard to make out as a photo but this is a citation “for most efficient action & presence of mind” given to Mr Veg’s grandfather, a machinist at the Pearl Harbour Naval Yard, present at the time of the bombing in 1941. Hung in the kitchen entrance.

2. Three post cards of animals dress in Victorian clothing that I bought from someone on Etsy and framed myself (I have three other critters so I can switch these out one day). These are on the living room wall to the left of the Rosstrossity as you’re facing it.
