deng played welll — he’s a really good swingman, mostly his problem as it pertains to the eastern conference is that lebron is way too athletic and it really neutralizes deng on offense — but that’s really only for the ECF

I enjoyed the three man game they played on offense with their excellent weakside spacing. I blame flopping on the Vlade Kings teams (and Derek Floppin’ Fisher) more than on Manu.
The Pistons were hideous to watch though, beyond Rasheed getting Techs.

i think they’ll fit fine, this year and next. there’s some overlap, but there are plenty of workarounds.
and btw, bosh is the player who fits perfectly with either bron or wade. it’s the wings who arguably have duplication in their games, i.e., redundancy.
bosh stepped back as a scorer because the two wings take up so many touches. but bosh will be damn good this year, i’m convinced. getting bigger will help him plenty.
they have two guys who can’t shoot from the perimeter and need the ball in their hands all the time, and a soft PF who doesn’t do dirty work and mostly is effective in iso situations. Great mix!
If Lebron is going to be facing up in the post and taking 12’-18’ jumpers they don’t need Bosh.

nah. the transition game they showed today was awesome. two prolific wings — even ones that like the ball in their hands — can work fine, if they can pass like bron and wade.
but eventually you have to score in the half court, and it turns into a nightmare
we saw it vs. dallas, if they couldn’t spark the transition game with defense, their halfcourt offense was remedial.

no; i think bosh is a top-5 PF. bosh was v good/consistent in the playoffs. he just doesn’t score as much. and he was guilty of some psychological regression, sitting back and watching bron/wade play, but that’s something that isn’t related to his potential fit with the team.
well, and his rebounds did decrease some. but that’s not really a “fit” issue. it’s more because bron and wade rebound very well for their positions.

bosh’s goal is to average 10 rebounds this year. that’s possible, given his statistics from toranto. if he does that, he’ll be great. and sitting at the elbow, shooting midrange shots is okay for him, and is a good “fit.” (a’mare, who is amazing but crowds the paint, might have presented his own “fitness” issues alongside bron and wade). and if bosh becomes more assertive in the paint, he’ll be an even better fit.

No, it’s a good fit for kurt thomas, not an elite offensive player like Bosh once was.
the big 3 fit and they don’t fit — it’s certainly not a classic pairing like the celtics big 3 or like deron/dwight/dirk would be — but the heat’s big 3 can also do a lot of things on both the offensive and defensive (this is a huge thing) ends that no team or trio of players in the nba can do — i still think that talent will win out and that it really won’t matter if they fit classically, and if things go anywhere near as well as they went on day 1 of year 2, they may obliterate the entire notion of fit anyway
and i think you could make the argument that lebron is truly one of the most versatile, or potentially versatile, players in the history of the nba, and that maybe the best team for him is one that is amorphous and experimental, provided that he’s willing to push himself to expand his offensive repertoire — he seemed like he was on his way today
& anyway matt armstrong picked the mavs to repeat, so
if you did 100 random groupings of 3 top 25 players who didn’t play the same position, I venture to say that a majority of the time they’d fit better than Miami’s big 3 does.
