lol
JUST KIDDING
i mean it’s not like the heat got to choose any 3 of the nba’s top 25 players and choose three guys that don’t fit perfectly
i mean you could say the same thing for literally every single team in the nba
interestingly, i rarely see bosh identified as the “bad fit.” i always see bosh/lebron’s redundant game identified as the issue.

No, see, this isn’t the case at all! GMs have the freedom to put together players who fit from a talent perspective. The Heat didn’t do that because the Superfriends were a package deal.
there’s no basketball reason why miami’s big three shouldn’t work—it’s all about flexibility and expansion of roles and being willing to work outside what you did when you were the guy on your team. i guess lebron was in the post today? good for him. he should have done that years ago.
bosh is fine — he’s a good fit in that he shouldn’t be the number 1 option on a team and is overqualified as the number 3 — and he helps the heat space the floor

bosh is prob a bad fit in that a distributing/defending point guard or dominant defense/rebounding center would be much more useful than jump shooting pf.
i mean brandon bass would also help the heat space the floor.

this is pretty stupid, matt — GMs have the freedom to put together players, but with some restrictions — i.e. no GM will get to add derrick rose, who is one of the top 25 players in the nba — or dirk nowitzki — and so on and so forth
and in any event the superfriends are at worst the second best team in the nba, so i don’t think it’s a big deal
ideally you’d want bosh to be better on defense and as a rebounder, but he’s not exactly dirk in that regard, either

he’s not an elite floor spacer though. 45% from 16–23 is good, but it ain’t great. and obviously that’s the furthest extent of his floor spacing.
Imagine how much better they’d be with Kevin Love instead of Bosh. That would be a fit.

i think cole will fill the first role. and yes, a dominant center would be better, but that wasn’t an option. it’s why i have high hopes for either curry or pittman. if either work out (and i really think curry will), then bosh fits in very well imo.
cannot see kevin love on the heat. cannot.

But they can find players who “fit.” Terry/Kidd fit together. Nash and Stoudemire were a perfect fit. GMs put them together.
you can’t say that teams across the leagues are as poorly assembled from a fit perspective— plenty of teams aren’t. They just don’t have the talent level in their star players that the Heat has.
right, but that’s a perfectly fine balance?
lol which teams are actually “well-assembled” in that their three best players compliment each other perfectly or close to it?
i mean saying kevin love would be a better fit is potentially true, but it’s also a total fantasy that never could’ve happened, so it’s kind of stupid to argue about
also nash & stoudemire were a good fit offensively, but that team never made it to the finals in large part cuz neither of those two guys could guard a barstool

but they don’t have to be perfect complements. They just have to fit together better than the heat’s trio, which is a low standard to meet.

you don’t think they could have flipped bosh for love midseason?

yeah but this isn’t true at all
It couldn’t have happened cuz bron and wade would have been butthurt I guess.
also cuz why would david khan trade for chris bosh’s max deal?
i mean this is getting somewhere close to friday afternoon bill simmons level of fantasy inanity

why the hell would minnesota do this?
because Kahn thought Love sucked until the middle of last season.
matt offtm about everything except kevin love, just jizzed myself thinking about that

this is ridiculous and you know it—the contracts make up for any perceived issues with kevin love
after the 09–10 season the Wolves front office had a film session and concluded that the only player who looked like an nba starter to them was Darko.
i mean you could make the argument that khan would trade kevin love bcuz there’s little shot that he’ll sign an extension there, but i’m pretty sure that khan would be looking for someone better than chris bosh
i said this on twitter but my grandma got me a cp3 clips jersey for xmas ^_^ *rocks*
yeah grandma!
clips-warriors might be most anticipated game of the day

dude, Kahn hated Love. He thought Love was really overrated. Love began the 10–11 season struggling to get more than 30 minutes. Everything changed with the 30–30 game.
anyway i think you could easily make the argument that the leauge is wide open for the heat this year — the bulls should give them a tough test, but i don’t see any team in the west beating them — the heat are a terrible match up for okc, imo
yup
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
the mavs are punting this year, the lakers don’t have a shot. clippers will be good, but not good enough. idk. if the bulls can’t manage to beat the heat i think they might walk to the title.
Whomever decided to give Mullins a microphone should be drawn and quartered.
the mavs are punting this year
but starting next year, mavs will win the next 15 straight titles.
i’m still pretty skeptical of the mavs’ ability to get those three guys — i think both the lakers and magic will make a panic trade before the deadline
Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds — More strange but true: Heat tied a franchise-worst with 8 points in the fourth quarter today
i return to my previous opinion that the heat will only win 26 games this year.
i could totally see deron going there tho
if lakers give up bynam and gasol, they’re crazy.
not that dwight howard isn’t worth it, but their cubbard will be pretty bare beyond howard and an aging kobe.
smh at u mavs doubters
i don’t doubt the mavs!
i just hate mark cuban.
ahh, here is the commercial that cements my hatred.

agree with you here. The worst matchup for the heat is probably the grizzlies!
Deron growing up in DFW might be a plus, but some guys don’t like playing at home.
smh at u mavs doubters

the lakers are gonna give up the ransom for dwight when they reach the trade deadline and they’re the 5th seed in the west and the clippers are the hottest team in the nba. watch.
clippers are the hottest team in the nba.
this statement is true, but still is astounding to me.
I don’t know what the hell the Lakers are doing tbh
Like when Jim Buss says they’re not giving up both Pau and Bynum I’m inclined to believe him, since he just gave up Odom for air.
LOL WELCOME BACK NBA HAPPY CHRISTMAS SO MANY POSTS
the warriors are a god damn mess
This game is SLOPPY on both ends. Ugly ball all around.
Udoh looks like he should be in the d league
udoh was such a jordan hill pick
klay thompson also looks kinda terrible
THERE IT IS
mark jackson pulling out the starters early really doing wonders here.
Warriors play defense like their coach did; get in position but then matador away from contact.
mark jackson is an nba coach, p sure that means i can be president of the world if i want
That lookin on Jackson’s huddle was illuminating. He was this close to breaking out a hand down, man down.
wow that dude #12 is a freaking midget
green accents to the red clips uniforms is a nice touch
mark jackson is an nba coach, p sure that means i can be president of the world if i want
no you cannot! this is not even a real job title, i think.
mark jackson’s “wired” segment was funny (“c’mon now. execute. execute!”).
i will be president of the world! ill show u
who will be your secretary of infinity?
why has klay thompson played double the minutes of steph curry
GSW looks like a team with no coach and no plays
is that das-racist in that hundyai commercial?
it looks like das-racist.
Curry’s working on a bum ankle and I would guess he wouldn’t have played if it wasn’t the home opener on national tv.
oh word
who will be your secretary of infinity?

mo williams looks kind of incredible off the bench?
them talking about Vinny’s coaching ability reminded me that I’m still surprised Sterling ever hired a coach named Del Negro.
so many missed FTs wtf
lol they felt like if theyre gonna give jackson some props prob everyones deserving xp
lol @ the rush bros 4 alltime btw
this season is gonna be so random
the lineups in this game are batshit
it’s truly insane that vinny d is coaching this magical team
I think Rush was a PF for a little bit.
c paul looks slightly fat
whos the new announcer btw
i really had no idea that brian cook was still in the nba
its chris mullin
chris mullin is in the hall of fame?
or, should i say, chris mullin is in the hall of fame?
haha there is a google+ comercial on espn3
Are we sure Billups is actually cool with being claimed on waivers? Because he’s playing no D at all and is taking horrible shots early in the clock.
eh he been on the team for like 3 days
Mully can ball, you shut up.
this is basically a pick up game
wasn’t chris mullin GM of the warriors like 4 years ago or something
