not trading paul means losing him for nothing. The best sixth man in the league, 2 good starters, dragic and a first rounder >>>>>> nothing.
it wasn’t as good as the Carmelo deal but it was close.
the vetoing of this trade had nothing to do with the best interests of the Hornets franchise.
fyi they are going to trade paul, and get better than the bag of rancid shit they were offered, srsly look at what you just wrote, the first guy is the ‘best sixth man’ that doesnt even mean anything, chris paul is a top five player in the nab, had this trade gone through it wouldve been prob the all time most lopsided trade in nba history, w/the rockets somehow getting the good dudes from the lakers while giving up a steaming pile of crap to nola, i mean id be investing their gm right now for kickbacks
matt luv u dawg but you have no idea wtf youre talking abt at all
lol stop it
had this trade gone through it wouldve been prob the all time most lopsided trade in nba history
This is really silly.
i did not read the thread but can someone explain to me why l.a.‘s good players were going to houston who were then moving a bunch of dudes and picks no one in their right mind gives a fuck abt to nola, ITS BOGGLING
matt out off all the shit nola was getting where would you rate the best guy, is there even a top 30 player in there, for the best point guard in the game, you have to be fucking joking
“Good players”
Dude Houston was just getting Gasol.
one player
that is the best non paul player in the trade, the only guy w/any real value just fyi
the hornets were clearly taking the nuggets approach of gathering a bunch of very good players
yeah but did you not realize houston wasn’t getting Odom?
xp
its like: paul >> gasol >>>>>>>>>>> who gives fuck
I like that this is what’s occupying neuilx@ 330 ET
i’d rather have scola, martin, odom and a first round pick than odom and gasol, which is what NOLA would be looking at

there were zero really good players going to nola, and just obvs paul is like 0x better than melo, AND denver got back better doods
A FIRST ROUND PICK wtf a meaningless term if there ever was one
10x better than melo obvs
i personally could move paul for a better package than nola got by tomorrow guaranteed

this is called knowing what pick its gonna be, first round is meaningless in the sense that a top 5 pick is very good, a bottom five pick isnt worth the rookie contract, now tell me which that pick is likely to land closer to
AND denver got back better doods
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, December 9, 2011 2:20 AM (3 minutes ago) Bookmark Permalink
Danilo is a better asset in general (and they got those robusto unprotected FIRST ROUNDERS), so it was a better deal by far. But the players they got aren’t better in the short term than Martin and Scola.

Probably smack in between.
in one of the deepest drafts ever, btw.
seriously dawg, you’re realllly underrating scola and martin.
like if you think wilson chandler > scola and martin I don’t know what to say other than I imagine you didn’t watch many rockets games last year.
kevin martin is literally a shit player, worthless, a v efficient scorer and bottom 10% at everything else he suposed to do
scola could be useful if you were on the verge of winning a title and needed a spot filled, p sure nola isnt in that position, hes also 31 y/o
and lets keep in mind chris paul is a top 5 nba player

o rly was that what denver got for a player that v inferior to paul thats not really how i recall it
“i personally could move paul for a better package than nola got by tomorrow guaranteed”
keep hearing this in donald trump’s voice
you said they got “better doods”
danilo, mozgov, felton, chandler > odom, scola, martin?
xp
danilo is maybe as good as odom, scola’s much better than chandler, martin’s better than felton.
you realize paul is on another plane than melo right
yes of course.
also the draft pick is THE KNICKS, injuries barred a guaranteed playoff team, its not worth much, those go for abt $3m on the open market
but denver didn’t get better doods, come on man.

injuries barred... when 2 of the 3 best players are Chandler and Stoudemire.
even without injuries I expect their pick to be around 17 or 18 which will be nice value in this drat.
it was prob gonna be a mid round pick, you can get a decent player. it’s a decently valuable asset.

yes, you need to take age in to consideration, nolas rebuilding, they dont need old guys, as we discussed paul is much much better than melo—also martin legit sucks, possibly the worst defender in the league
i mean look you aren’t getting even value back for paul. or anything close to it. i respect demps’ desire to get rid of paul before the season so the team can just move on. the package he got was pretty good, it could’ve even competed for an 8 seed depending on who else they signed.

i suggest you guys peruse some past drafts and calculate how many irl players come out of the last third or even half of the 1st round, more busts than keepers, all stars few and far between

rondo for paul straight up is better than this deal, and thats not a good deal
i respect demps’ desire to get rid of paul before the season so the team can just move on.
remember what happened to denver after melo left? they basically didn’t lose for the rest of the year. getting rid of the soap opera that will be chris paul’s season on the hornets, especially now, would be smart. too bad stern won’t let them do that!

totally its all a big narrative, doesnt matter if you end up w/the worst team in the nba
you could make the argument for rondo, sure — i think you could also easily make the argument that for as good as rondo is, he’s very much a product of a team that has a bunch of lights out shooters and he wouldn’t be that amazing on a bunch of other teams.
I met gasol once at a restaurant
even without injuries I expect their pick to be around 17 or 18 which will be nice value in this drat.

No, we think the Knicks will be a 5–8th seed in the East and thus it will be a mid-roundish pick.
look at the knicks record after they got amere and melo, now add another allstar, ffs
wait, the knicks got another all star
LOL Chandler the allstar
chandler is legit!

rondo is not a good deal, the hornets can do better, hold on to paul until the trade deadline, omg not media scrutiny what will we do!
Did you mean Mcdonald’s all-american?
i really don’t think holding on until the trade deadline would do anything
rondo as the #1 guy on a team w/ no real support would be nuts i’d like to see that
seriously the knicks might as good as the pacers this year
i really don’t think holding on until the trade deadline would do anything

this is historically when the best deals happen, that been a known thing in the nba until having a media fire storm turned it the worst thing ever for w/e reason
kevin martin’s 24 ppg: literally shit
tyson chandlers 10 pts, 9 rpg: all-star caliber.
the knicks would have the worst staring back court in the nba, not even a question
toney douglas
landry fields
carmelo anthony
amare stoudemire
tyson chandler
^this team is worse than the hawks

this can be said abt every team in the league and you know it
kevin martin was top 20 in the league in PER, i had no idea
the knicks are a legit playoff team, if they have injury problems they are not, like the other playoff teams
20th draft pick

heat, celtics, bulls, hawks could all have an injury to one of their top 2 players and easily beat out the sixers
kevin martin is widely known as the worst defender in the nba
it could be as low as 18th if they’re the 5th seed.
5+5=10
20–18=2
8+4=12
if the 8 western playoff teams had better records they would pick 18th.
omg its could be anywhere between 18 and 20! what a magnificent draft pick! i bet a lot of great players have been taken there!
why dont u do some research as far as the quality of those spots!
dude you’re the one who brought up math and then couldn’t add.
here’s what could easily happen to the knicks this year — howard gets his trade to the nets, amar’e has to miss 20 games, the pacers make good on their free agent signings and jump up two spots, and the sixers stay the same from last year
hmm what does that look like?
1 heat
2 bulls
3 celtics
4 nets
5 hawks
6 pacers
7 sixers
8 knicks
it could be 18 it could be 20 do you see
no you said that 5th seed in east = 20th.
honestly you can get pretty good players in that range
you mocked me for saying they could pick 18th, then said they’d be the 5th pick in the east.... which could be 18th.
yes i totally make trades based on what could be the best possible circumstances, hey maybe kevin martin will learn how to rebound pass and defend, think abt this what if this happened
1 knicks
2 bulls
3 celtics
4 nets
5 hawks
6 pacers
7 sixers
8 heat
now what
you mocked me for saying they could pick 18th, then said they’d be the 5th pick in the east.... which could be 18th.
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, December 9, 2011 3:55 AM (6 seconds ago) Bookmark Permalink
5th in the east could be the 20th pick, it could also be the 18th pick, they both suck
but you said that me saying they’d pick 17th or 18th showed I “couldn’t do math.” and then you put them right in that range!
eric bledsoe, ty lawson, javale mcgee, jj hickson, roy hibbert, nick young, sean williams, rajon rondo, danny granger, hakeem warrick, josh smith, j.r. smith, jameer nelson
i mean these range from stars to very solid role players
well to be fair i said neither you or jordan could do math
yes i totally make trades based on what could be the best possible circumstances
i made a trade based on a report that dwight howard wants to go to the nets! i mean, it’s certainly something for the knicks to be worried about. i’m not sure why we should pretend that it couldn’t happen.
also i was using jordan prediction abt the knicks finishing position as an argument, i expect them to finish higher than the hawks
my projection is obv a worse case scenario but it’s also entirely probable
what r the nets going to trade for howard exactly, curious
lopez and picks presumably (FIRST ROUNDERS)
actually worse case scenario is both of their perpetually injured big men bite the dust and they’re left with carmelo and a bunch of guys who would get laughed out of the rucker
