I do love a long birthday weekend—yesterday was work, but people were kind and thoughtful and I got to sneak-read Cannery Row on a wee new kindle off and on. Today is much more reading with a dash of yardwork and housework, which honestly is my favorite kind of day.

he did! not only were there treats, walks etc, he didn’t have to spend one minute alone all day which is his clearly-expressed preference. he hasn’t had his meatball yet, it was postponed, but i don’t think he thinks about such things until they are directly in front of him.
