do you fell like an old man or old woman in yr office? do you look at the latest graduate intake and think “Are you old enough to go to work?”

Do you ever move the monitor screen slighty to the left in the morning so that the sun doesn’t shine on it? give examples of when you have done this

God yes, and the policemen are getting younger every year, too. One of my colleagues was compaining about being SOOOO OOOOLD because she just turned, like, 26 or something. GET A GRIP.

When Richard returned, he looked a lot better though, and exclaimed happily, “have you ever bought a packet of donuts that look like the Three Wise Men, when you hold them to the side?”

Mick banged his head against the desk

We called that, Doing a Mick from that day onwards

one of my colleagues told me that she used to bounce up and down to Five Star as a toddler.

oh no, i think i’m just going to have to wee all over Lord Snot’s head

great anecdote mark.

What is more worrying to me is that, in my entire department (bosses and all, all the way up to the Financial Director) everybody joined after me except for one person.

Every single person that hired me has either been sacked or quit.

People who started AFTER me have started to resign!

We now have a student intern. He’s not even old enough to drink. It’s cute. One of my co-workers is also quite younger than me. My boss and I like to rail on about the olden days, before Netscape, etc etc.

Once i went to work and realised it was a Saturday!!

Work is a lot of shit if you think about it. Esp. if you went to college.

omg i had a saturday job once too!

Every single person that hired me has either been sacked or quit.

Couldn’t they just sack you instead?

Whenever Mister Monkey starts to tell his young whippersnapper colleagues about how they used to code in the old days of the late 90s, one of them will say “quiet everyone, the old man is talking!” and they will all gather round his desk like children.

I am thinking of buying him a pipe just so he can point to things with it in work.

They can’t sack me. I know the Oracle Passwords and NO ONE ELSE DOES.

Although I really do like my job and the people I work with, the other day I stopped and thought about how much I get done on weekends, during the time I would be at work. It’s pretty depressing, how much of our life work consumes.

Once i went to work and realised i was still at school and didn’t have a job yet!!

We get temp. Admin Assistants starting for us who are just out of school. Some of them look like their parents shouldn’t be allowing them out on their own.

When we were interviewing our student intern I kept catching him staring down my clevage. I try to wear higher shirts now when I know he’s going to be in the office.

“So, anyway, I say we take the old dear out and get ‘er pissed, we gotta get those passwords somehow! Who’s in???“

“Good plan! Then sack ‘er for comin’ in with an ‘angover!“

Sometimes being at work can be funny if you just leave the exclamation points off of everything

I would LOVE if they would sack me! Dude, GARDENING LEAVE!!!

Alas, all I do all day is download dronerock and pictures of hott boys but somehow I keep squeezing out the work at the end of the month.

(There are actually more complicated reasons why there were a lot of people sacked/hired around the time that I was, due to a corporate takeover then corporate divorce.)

i work in a creche
