about plants and bugs and landscaping or to write a poem or to paint a painting or to name a cheese or a sort of rock.

Cuz we need one.

For example:

That might work well for moles, but the only natural enemy of the skunk is the gun or the automobile!

Sam, I don’t know anything about outdoor growing in your zone. Are they house plants? I had terrible trouble with scale on my indoor grapefruit, despite all my soapy-water ministrations—hand-sponging each affected leaf. When I put it outside in the spring the problem went away, natural predators, I guess. But then the scale would come back when the plant was moved back inside, and by the end of winter things were dire, with sticky scale honeydew dripping all over. I finally euthanized the plant by putting it on the compost heap mid-winter, which was hard—I had grown it from a seed! But it was infecting other plants. The scale spread to my bay laurel and ficus, but not to such an insane degree.
As to agave—the only problem I can think of would be excess moisture?

Man, I wish I could access real ILE to pull many other examples of when Beth has named a cheese or written a poem. But I’m torn cuz I do love the sandbox so. Maybe just cuz it’s called “sandbox.”

Beth, what kind of material would you recommend for a driveway? I know you have crushed oyster shells on yours. What would you suggest for us?

When was the last time you took acid?

In college, 1980 or 81. I dropped acid with my 6’6“ drag-queen buddy. We were having a great time throwing snowballs at cars until one of them screeched to a halt and the driver got out in a big rage. We ran and hid in the college theater for about a half an hour, cowering behind some big backdrop thing.

I got pregnant shortly after graduation and haven’t taken acid since.

I didn’t know about this thread until Maria told me tonight! I wasn’t ignoring it out of modesty! I am not modest at all!

Maria, crushed shells are the ONLY DRIVEWAY!!!! They crunch when you walk or drive on them, they’re white, they smell like the fish dock!

But a cheese driveway is a close second.

Thanks for clarifying.

You’ve got to save some things for your retirement, I guess.
