I saw BS at the Ottobar in like 2002 and it was both Dres and Mista Lawnge, pure nostalgia set but they ripped it. Dres sounded good on the “Where Are They Now” remix, not surprised that the new album is good but i dunno if i’ll get around to checking it out.

i saw both the raekwon and big daddy kane ones and they were great. crowd was proper fun non-indie rock/undie rap (read what you want into that) for the most part and sonar has the killer sound system anyway. they say you have sign up on the site to get on the list to get in but it turns out its not required. you just write your name and email at the door.

Some of those songs are pretty great and I’m glad to hear some of the shit I had missed, but some of the selections are weird and random and some seem really obvious next to the others. Like “Brownsville,” really? Thats like the opening track off MOP’s biggest album! And what rap nerds don’t know “Just a Friendly Game of Baseball” or “Reign of the Tec”? Its also really NY centric for the most part, with a few important exceptions courtesy Noz. On the whole its worth it if for the discovery of Mac Mall’s “My Opinion” alone
