what have you not done yet?
If you are a Twin Peaks fan, you should see Snoqualmie Falls and have cherry pie at the diner in North Bend.
If you are a Northern Exposure fan, you should have a drink at The Brick in Roslyn.
Have you gone paddling in Lake Washington/the cut, through the Arboretum?
If you haven’t seen the quad at UW when the cherry trees are blooming, I would recommend that. Also, the acres and acres of tulips up by LaConner (but I don’t know for sure when they bloom).
i am sitting next to jergins’ doppelganger on the bus!

i really, really miss seattle.
seattle misses you, too
aw.
when i close my eyes i like to look at queen anne and the bay and the olympics and the trees and the hill. sigh.
the other day i went running in the woods but all i could htink about was how much better it was to run in seattle woods!
i heard an npr story that the lusty lady is closing down.
RIP
Feeling nostalgic about drinking champagne @ kerry park while expecting a fireworks display to start *any minute* but lol oops it was @ gassworks!
Happy 4th, seattle. Miss u.

<3
i though of lxy’s UMbrellas posts this morning when i was walking home from the farmer’s market in the pouring rain and i saw a chubby talking-to-himself man approaching and when i got to him he said cheerfully, with a concerned look on his face, “where’s your um-ber-ella?”

i like the continuation of seattle.

i miss seattle.

I miss Seattle. 5 more days.
maruta shoten got shut down for a health code violation “Ongoing foodborne illness outbreak.”
dear seattle,
never should have left you. please forgive me.
miss you, boo.
t
we were once talking onthe other ilx about where or how someone could live in sodo. check out this live/work loft. i love this building, noticed it a bunch of times, just across the tracks on airport http://goo.gl/d8hVZ
spotted that ad on craigslist this weekend (still addicted to thinking about moving)—love that space.
i think i might be going to seattle for like 2 days in september <3
i hope i don’t cry in front of my colleagues from joy!
!!!
!!!
hi, jaq!
i miss you a ton lately :(
thank you for making hasty arrangements to return for your measurement. please let me know when i should have the pencil ready.
tza, if you are taller than us please don’t be boastful and call us little squirts.
i can’t remember, how did i measure up the last time around?
btw i will be there sept 7–11 w/ work stuff 7–9 and 10–11 for visiting. i can hardly wait. only one month away!!
i must admit i get a little teary-eyed just htinking about it so i am a bit worried about how i will react once i touch down.
p sure tza was taller than me by a smidge! can’t wait for your visit :)

one week!!
you will come for a cocktail and the ritual, yes?
i would love to!
i would love, too

24 hours to go! so excited!!!!!!!
when will yr job bring you to sf/east bay, tza?!?!??????!!?
tehersa, stop by saturday afternoon or evening?
I don’t know, ruby! Nothing scheduled there that I know of for the next 24 months :( I’ll have to come on my own!
Lxy, yes! And will you come to jaq’s for impromptu bbq?
I am so happy to be here. It just feels so right, this city. Lovely dinner with jaq and mr. jaq, they are such dears for picking me up!
Yayyyyyyy. Tomorrow/friday I will be near jerg’s old stomping grounds! Walked to drug store to pick up water, saw an endearing hobo and the SLUT!
it was superfun to see you this afternoon, terez. thanks for coming over!!
thanks for having me, and congrats on your lovely home!
i am getting excited but sad i only have two days. already sad!
i am drinking wine from the bottle while i decide what to eat for dinner so i am simultaneously gushing with love and disappointed
dearest harbl,
you drinking wine from the bottle made me gush with love for you. i wish you would hurry up and get here.
love,
lxy
harbl, i hope you enjoy seattle as much as i do!
i am not feeling very sunny since i came back :(
awwww, you should move back here so you can be sunny all the time <3
i KNOW
sigh

wau
ugh. it’s totally lower queen anne! sheesh. uptown sounds too much like belltown which is not(own) for me.
i wish you were all here right this minute
oh hi!!!!!!!!!!!
hi!!
My neighbor across the street, whom some of you have met, appears to be shoveling the entire street. He picks up a scoop of snow from the road, then carries it out to the roundabout and dumps it. Then back for another.
wow, that’s ambitious! our neighbor shoveled not only the main sidewalk in front of our house, but also the sidewalk leading to our front stairs. why? i don’t know!
jaq, isn’t it so quiet and beautiful tonight? <3
It is, all glowing and covered in a soft clean blanket!
i really love the temperate climate of the bay area but dang if i don’t love ~in theory~ the idea of cozy snowy nights
but it’s not that soft! the snow is covered by a crunchy layer of ice. it’s really weird.
still cozy though.
what is the prognosis for tomorrow?
I think a bit more snow overnight, but falling slowly. And it’s supposed to stay below freezing. Then something like a 60% chance of more snow tomorrow. I hope I can stay home again.
thx jaq!
meeee toooooo!
woohooooo! just got the text alert that UW has suspended operations for tomorroooooowwwwww!!!!!!!!!
hurrayyyyyy!!!~!
now sccc, come through for us plzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah babeeee!!!! More snow angels!!!
All my guys from Birmingham are here this week; I feel bad for them being stuck in a hotel.
oh no, the poor guys!
also, again: hurray!!!!!11
OH MY GOD HE IS READY FOR ANYTHING!!!!
i like the woolly cut of his jib.
graupel. it’s graupelling.
It’s still snowing
holy crap! another inch of snow on top of the graupel!
It’s madness!
looks like j will be taking the bus to the airport, and i’ll get another day at home.
so :( and :)
I’m supposed to try to get to Redmond tomorrow morning for a 9 am meeting. Will it happen? OR WON’T IT???
I hope the buses are running—I haven’t seen or heard a 60 or 131 for 2 days!
we walked over to 4th & it looks pretty good. even saw a bus! should be fine, a straight shot to tukwila.
in other news, uw’s emergency blog must be inundated with people trying to find out about tomorrow; can’t get the page to load! i wanna know!!
i’m happy it’s too snowy for work.
yes, it’s getting kinda silly now, third day off, and monday was the MLK holiday. good, though, because it’s mean out! still super icey, but also kinda melty, so big hunks are falling out of trees. a branch came off the neighbor’s tree itno our yard last night. i’m a bit worried for the trees and the things under them. be safe, trees & people!
jergins’ 9 am flight was cancelled and he was rebooked for noon. good wishes for people flying over snow and ice.
fingers x’d for flyers! I don’t even want to think about driving, so told the people who want this meeting I can’t get there and we can meet on the internet b/c we live in the FUTURE!
oh good, jaq, so glad you made that decision. how are the alabamans doing?
They got into the office yesterday afternoon apparently, brave souls! They are leaving tomorrow I think.
Though I wish they’d stay so I could work with them a little before they go! They’re super to work with.
won’t they be glad to go home!
Too right, especially after this week of weather! We probably won’t see them here again until summer.
made it to the office—the side streets are too rotten still, but the main roads are more soupy than slick.
oh! so glad you didn’t have trouble!
j made it from home to the gate in ~ 1 hour.
where is jergy going
tucson, for the weekend. lucky him in shirtsleeves standing next to a cactus at sundown.
what an image
